My Dad was fast-tracked on end of life care. I chose Bispham Gardens due to it's location and the wide corridors - My Dad was bed bound and I was told that 'nobody misses out'. Unfortunately my Dad did not live long enough to take part in any of the activities but I know he would've loved being able to join in Sadly my Dad passed away after 4 nights from admission so never got to participate. The time spent @ Glenholme was dignified, peaceful and calm. He slipped away in a nice environment

My 97 yr old dad arrived at Bispham Gardens almost three months ago from hospital classed as end of life. The care at the Home has been wonderful and he is now palliative care and eating drinking and importantly feeling content in himself. He is so well cared for. The environment is first class and the caring team are truly exceptional. As a family we couldn't be happier with everyone involved in his care. It is excellent.
Some history - My mum was here four years ago so dad was familiar and fond of staff. But two years ago when Dad needed their care the manager had changed and it was a very bad experience & he went back to hospital.

This year we decided to try Bispham Gardens again on discovering the return of the original manager Fiona who oversaw my mums care. I was cautious after the last manager but am so glad we tried again. Fiona and her team have been absolutely marvellous and it has been the best decision. I feel its the Buckingham Palace of nursing homes with 5 star carers.

Dad came to Bispham Gardens with terminal cancer after a long stay in hospital, and a life expectancy of a few weeks. Dad received the best of care and support from the staff who were often stretched for resources. The home has a lovely calm and clean environment and every ad hoc visit myself and family made resulted in no issues. Thank you.

My sister was admitted to Bispham Gardens a month ago after six months in various hospital/home/other care homes. We are delighted with the care that she has received here - and although it has taken her time to adjust to her diagnosis of M.N.D. and the prospect of living in a nursing home, she is now more settled and beginning to engage with others - all due to the kindness, encouragement and patience of all the staff.

My mother was admitted to Bispham Gardens for palliative care. We chose this home for its high level of nursing care as my mother had bladder cancer and some significant nursing and care needs.

She was only in here for three weeks before she passed away. The care staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble, they looked after her in messy and difficult circumstances really well. They allowed us to be a family around her in her final weeks. The nursing staff managed her end of life care with the upmost sensitivity and ensured she was never in pain or discomfort. I can't recommend this place highly enough. It's is also a purpose-built nursing home and my mum was able to have a bath via their hoist. The benefits of being in there were many and they also looked after us as well offering cups of coffee and food when we didn't want to leave mums side. A great place and a big thank you from all of our family. X

What a wonderful place, the care Mum received was incredible. Sensitive to her needs, and respectful of all requirements.
Initially we felt we had let Mum down, putting her into care. However, the professional care she received, no doubt prolonged her life, and certainly enriched her final years, far more than we could have managed on our own.
Knowing her care was being catered for, we could merely enjoy our times together, without the stress of the caring role.
The food was wonderful, and Mum eat more heartily than she had at home !
Whilst Mum didn't always appreciate the activities, there were plenty on offer. Singers, performers, presentations, as well as trips out. There will be something to entertain everyone.

Thank you one and all , for everything .

We as a family were very happy and grateful for the care given to our loved one during the 3 weeks he was there. His end of life care (approx 10 days) was excellent. He was comfortable, clean and above all pain free. We were fully informed of his worsening condition and the staff were empathic and caring to our loved one and to us.

The laundry service was excellent - thankyou.

The home is spotlessly clean and remained so throughout Mums stay. There is a friendly atmosphere in modern surroundings with a lovely garden and conservatories to spend time in. I thought my Mums care was very good and although nothing is ever perfect thanks go to the carers and nursing team who are always on hand , very helpful and compassionate. They always responded to any request. One gripe is my Mums room would get untidy at times and considering she was bed bound for a lot of the time it was frustrating. The food is fine if not spectacular. Special mention to the man on the front desk , he is a real asset and very helpful and friendly. There were plenty of activities which is good but for the bed bound people not too much to entertain and stimulate in their rooms.
Mums care at the end was dignified. One disappointment was as far as I'm aware no one from the care home came to my Mums funeral. I thought it showed a lack of respect.

Overall though I would recommend .

My husband has been at Bispham Gardens now for a little over six weeks, in which time he has been well cared for, especially with regards to the nursing care he has received. The food is of excellent quality and hot food is always served hot, as it should be. Generally, I would recommend Bispham Gardens to anyone seeking good care for a loved one.

Truth be told - I could not wait to get my loved one out of this Home. Poorly run with the absolute minimum of care given. No person centred care. No dignity or respect shown. Very Poor hygiene standards. Not enough staff. Rude staff (not all) and the rudest most unapproachable Manager I have ever met. Very poor management and no communication. Information passed to relevant authorities.

My mother has resided at Bispham Gardens Care & Nursing Home for three years now and we are so relieved that we found such an excellent home.
All the staff are always friendly, helpful and eager to assist both residents and visitors. Care is delivered to a very high standard and residents are always treated with respect and dignity.
The home is extremely clean, well-maintained with superb facilities and plenty of communal rooms should visitors want privacy with their loved ones and food freshly prepared with lots of choice. A variety of daily activities are offered along with gardening club for those who wish to participate with regular entertainment and outings. A minibus is being provided which means more trips out will be available in the future.
It is so reassuring to know that she receives the best of care and myself and all the family would have no hesitation in recommending the home.

A big thank you to the manager and all her team for the amazing job you do.

Our mum arrived from the hospital for her end-of-life care, she was sadly only there for less than a week before she passed away. The whole team looked after her and us from the moment she arrived until she sadly passed away. We would not hesitate to recommend this care home and the very welcoming, professional and caring team, we could not have wished for a better place for our mum to spend her final days, a huge thank you to all.

My nursing home place Jan 2021-Jul 2023 (2 years 7 months) overall despite my younger-than-average age was treated very well, of course, there were elements out of the home control like my anxiety making socialising with older residents uncomfortable however where possible the home encouraged, supported the connections that did manifest. I was a mess emotionally to start however all the staff made it clear they were always available for support and showed kindness/compassion, my coeliac dietary requirements were catered for, and supported my need to be as independent as possible, changing my bed so I didn’t feel “hospitalised” and gave me a larger room so that I could start a new craft hobby to distract myself despite mainly not feeling comfortable to leave my room, they definitely made adjustments to give person-centred care, of course within the 2+ years things went wrong however they were quick to address any issues as they arose, I highly recommend this nursing home.

My father was admitted to hospital on Monday night/Tuesday morning, and having failed to contact him via his mobile since Sunday I phoned the care home Thursday night (not unusual for a couple of days to pass between speaking to him due to mobile and sleeping) to be told he was in the hospital. As his next of kin, I hadn’t been informed and wouldn’t have been aware had I not phoned them in the hope of speaking to him via their phone.

Such a poor level of compassion was shown when requesting to escalate this.
