My mum was in the ‘care’ of Green Lane for 2 nights before I removed her from the facility. The conditions are appalling and no-one appears to care.
Green Lane Manager, after an ‘investigation,’ sent a letter saying disciplinary action had been taken with some of the staff who abused mum. When I
responded to the letter asking for actual specifics and safeguards which had been put into place, I did not receive any response.
What goes on behind those walls is not acceptable. Bond Care (the corporate owner) should be ashamed of themselves.
By the way, after I removed mum from this facility, two neighbors came forward to say they knew of other people who had suffered rough treatment at the hands of the Green Lane staff.
Everyone from Green Lane involved with sweeping this stuff under the rug needs to take a long look at their despicable selves.
If you have a loved one or friend in this facility, get them out ASAP. Visit often and if something doesn’t look right, ask for the video!

Mum (93) was taken to Green Lane for rehabilitation after a fall at home and a hospital stay. After realising Mum would be unable to return home, and seeing first-hand the standard of care Green Lane offered we wanted Mum to stay at Green Lane, and Mum agreed without hesitation. Mum has dementia and
her face lights up when she sees staff, they work hard to get to know each resident as an individual, have always been caring and compassionate with Mum, and patiently explain things over when she is confused. The care she receives is really person-centred and dignified, she is offered choices in all aspects of her care. Residents are encouraged and supported by staff to attend activities, and these seem really popular and well-attended. I cannot praise the staff at Green Lane enough, to them this is not 'just a job' it is obvious they are passionate about the care residents receive, and we are so grateful for the excellent care Mum is receiving.

My sister was admitted yesterday from the hospital for recovery/rehab. This is the second care home she has been in for this perhaps. I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I am with Green Lane. From the moment we arrived each of us was treated with care/dignity and respect. In the subsequent 24 hours,
every member of staff regardless of role took time to get to know her, assess all her needs, and communicate with me. Neither of us has ever had this outstanding experience.

I've found everything great and well looked after by the staff, and physio has been excellent at getting back to what I was. I couldn't even walk when I arrived, and now I'm going home and able to walk. Everybody is so friendly and has a chat with you and even the cleaners will do the small tasks I
ask, so I'd recommend this to anybody.

My dad was brought into Green Lane recovery hub after a spell in hospital. He has been looked after very well by friendly, cheerful staff who have seen to his every need. His room is kept clean, and his food has been good.
The manager is friendly and has kept us informed on my dad's progress. It's
a shame that he is leaving as he manages a good, well-run home.

My husband was admitted to Green Lane for a short-stay care plan before going to a permanent care home. All the staff have been lovely, very caring and I've seen an improvement in my husband which I feel is down to all the staff. I have no doubt that this is a lovely, happy care home, all the staff

My Dad was admitted to Green Lane after spending six weeks in hospital, this was our first ever care home encounter. On our first visit, the staff were very helpful in taking us to where Dad was situated, they answered all our questions which was helpful. Every member of staff from housekeeping to management
has been fantastic and I only wish he could have stayed here, as it was only a rehabilitation stay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home, full marks for everything.

My husband was in respite for three weeks in July. Staff, food and cleanliness were very good but communication was lacking towards the residents and their family members. My husband and I were left feeling extremely frustrated at the lack of information regarding his medical treatment and care.

Green Lane is a lovely, warm, caring centre. The staff are lovely, attentive, knowledgable and always there if you need advice or help. The food is ok, there is always a choice. My Mum has had fantastic care while she's been here.

Mum went into Green Lane following an illness, also recovering from a broken wrist. Her stay was satisfactory and was looked after very well. The only problem with her was no motivation or simulation as no activities.

My husband went to Green Lane from hospital, due to a fall where he damaged the top and lower parts of his spine.
When he arrived he could not walk, hardly stand, but two weeks into his stay he's now walking with help. It is amazing how he has progressed. The physio team work with him every day, even
at weekends. The team's results are amazing as my husband is registered blind, so you can well imagine that's another hurdle for the physios and my husband.
The staff are friendly, always smiling and stop to have conversations with the residents and their relatives. They always come promptly too when the buzzer is rung for attention.
I personally am there for around 8 hours every day as I help with the day-to-day routine of my husband's care as being blind he needs lots of assistance and guidance, especially in a place that is strange to him. Thank you Green Lane management and staff for all your kindness and understanding to both of us.

On our first visit to my mother in law at Green Lane Intermediate Care Centre, we knew it was a good place because we could hear the good natured banter of staff in the corridor.
Great level of care from front line workers all round which more than made up for a little shabbiness here and there in
the building.
Our only quibble would be with occasional lapses in communication from management.
Also I would recommend that staff name badges should be redesigned so that they predominantly show the staff member's first name for the benefit of residents and their relatives.

My auntie was in the Green Lane Intermediate Care Centre for seven weeks, following an injury to her hand. All the staff at the care home were excellent and she enjoyed all the meals and made friends with some of the other residents. Although her stay was longer than expected, due to waiting for a personal
care package to be arranged for her return home, she enjoyed her stay.

I spent six weeks at Green Lane Intermediate Care Centre and I have nothing but praise for all the staff. I fell at home and fractured both wrists so I had plaster casts on both arms. When I arrived, I couldn't do anything for myself so had to depend on the care staff. I had to spend Christmas and New

Overall, very good. Staff/carers are excellent, always cheerful and helpful. Teamwork with carers is excellent. I was on home care for eighteen years before retirement so I do know about caring. I was non-weight-bearing for six weeks. All staff always waved or spoke always when passing which I appreciated

From first going into reception, was met with a friendly greeting at the door. The staff all looked after my husband really well and could often hear them talking to residents with great care, which was nice to hear. Doctors, nurses, physios, carers and cleaning staff were very good, couldn't fault
at all. Can't thank you all enough. The food was very good too and very tasty. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.

While most of the staff are friendly, this place has many issues.
Communication is absolutely appalling. Unless you seek out staff, no one volunteers any information or progress. Issues have been highlighted to staff about my mother-in-law as while she has been assessed as 'independent' she has not
had a proper wash or brushed her teeth in the 5 weeks she has been there. She has been showered once. If my husband and I were not going to do this, this would have been the only shower for 5 weeks. I have also highlighted to staff and the deputy manager safety issues around medication. My husband was also given the access code to Green Lane, I presume so that staff does not have to answer the door. This is unacceptable when Green Lane is supposed to be a place of safety for the care users. I contacted Green Lane on the 2nd November 2022 to discuss my concerns and was advised a manager would call the next day. I am still waiting.

Sean has worked in Health and Social Care for over 32 years. He began his career as a Registered Nurse and over the years has worked in many clinical roles within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, as well as being a Regulation Inspector for CQC for 7 years. Sean’s biggest achievement is being happily married with 3 grown-up children. To relax and take a break from working, he enjoys reading non-fiction stories and playing golf with his pals.
