When phoning to speak to Mum, whoever answers the phone is always courteous and very friendly, nothing seems too much trouble. Even Mum says that the carers are really nice and friendly, and believe me, Mum can be very awkward. When visiting Mum now, we have to be tested every time for Covid which can be a bit of a bind, but the staff are fantastic and very friendly so it does not seem so much of a chore really. Really good to talk to.

Overall Experience

On 1st impression of going into Pendle Brook, it is a very beautifully decorated home and you are greeted by very happy and helpful staff. Mum's bedroom and ensuite is very well fitted out and beautifully decorated. There is plenty of room for the residents to move around and different rooms to sit and have a chat, watch TV or have some quiet time. The activity co-ordinator keeps the residents busy part of the day, if they want and always updates the 'Facebook" page about what they are doing, so we are well informed during this awful crisis we find ourselves in at this moment. All the staff and the carers look after mum very well with patience, understanding and encouragement. This is truly a five star home. Thanks to all of you.

Overall Experience
My grandma is a current resident of Pendle Brook and is set to stay there for the foreseeable future. Our experience so far has been nothing short of positive. The quality of care is outstanding, the staff are so friendly and it’s very reassuring to know my grandma is being so well looked after.
My grandma's feedback is that the carers treat her with respect and dignity at all times, the food is excellent and the premises are always spotless. My grandma has even commented that she is never bored and there is always someone to chat to. Visiting times are extremely flexible, meaning that we, as family members, can come and go as we please throughout the day and evening.

Overall we are so happy with Pendle Brook and would be delighted to recommend them to anyone looking to find a home for an elderly family member needing support.

I’m the Registered Manager of Pendle Brook Care Home and have worked in the care sector since 2007. I started my journey as a care assistant at the age of 17, and over the years, I’ve developed a deep passion for supporting others and making a real difference in people’s lives.
I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, and I lead with a firm but fair approach. I believe in setting high standards while also creating a supportive, positive environment for both residents and staff. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is helping team members grow and achieve their own goals and aspirations within the care profession.

Care isn’t just a job for me—it’s something I truly believe in. My aim is to ensure that Pendle Brook is not only a place of safety and dignity for our residents but also a place where they feel genuinely valued and cared for.

Pendle Brook is more than just a workplace; we consider ourselves a family, and that sense of warmth and community is felt by everyone who walks through our doors. I find my role incredibly rewarding and feel privileged to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the residents who call Pendle Brook home. Equally, I take great pride in supporting our dedicated staff—encouraging their development, fostering growth in their careers, and working together to deliver the highest standard of care.
