My dad has just had a week in respite at Bank Hall. As a family it was a very worrying time for us as we felt like we were abandoning him. Leah and the staff team totally put our minds at rest and couldn't do enough for my dad. Leah sent me updates via email which was a great comfort. My dad had an
amazing time and made some new friends and my mum has recharged her batteries. We will definitely be revisiting in the near future.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts x

Our mum, who has Alzheimer's, has been living at Coniston for 15 months now. We looked at several care homes before choosing this one and are so pleased with our choice. The staff are approachable, caring and friendly and the home is well managed. It is also very clean. The food always looks and
smells amazing and despite many years of being a fussy eater Mum has put some weight on and looks so much healthier. She has also joined in with some of the activities, which we hadn't expected to happen. There are lots of events for residents and their families which are always joyful occasions. We can relax safe in the knowledge that Mum is being cared for with compassion and understanding.

Royley House feels like home from home and is managed exceptionally well. Every member of staff makes you feel genuinely welcome and it is an extremely caring place to be. Nothing is too much trouble. My husband is treated with respect, dignity and love. It's comforting knowing he is content, eating

My mother has lived in her council flat for more than 30 years, so it was very hard to her to make a transition to a care home.
Royley House stood out from the rest. As soon as I walked in, it felt homely, clean and welcoming. The management and staff are very smart and professional.
My mum's on a
12 week placement, so far it's been excellent and now can't see her anywhere else.
Reply from Leanne Gorton, Area Manager at Royley House Care HomeThank you for your lovely feedback; it's so nice to know that such a difficult transition was made a little easier for you based on your experiences at Royley House. We hope the rest of your mother's stay remains as positive, whether just for the 12 weeks, or beyond.

My mum moved into Royley House in February 2025 and the care she received brought about an immediate improvement in her wellbeing. She has since settled in and the staff continue to monitor and look after her daily care needs. My mum's room is lovely and provides space for more personal visits when
not sat in either the lounge or conservatory. The staff arrange regular activities for the residents to participate in, often also joining in. The many Facebook updates provide a great comfort on the days we are unable to visit, showing the residents enjoying their activities. We are very pleased with our decision in placing mum in Royley House and grateful for the care and companionship she receives. Thanks to all the staff, in every role, who ensure my mum continues to receive the best care, also providing regular updates on her welfare.

Mum has been a resident at Royley House for the last 7 years. The care she receives is excellent. All her needs are managed in a dignified and caring way. I don't live locally so I know that she is being looked after to a high standard, and her being at Royley House puts my mind at ease. Each time we
visit we are always greeted with a smile, a hello, a brew and biscuits. Treating family members with this level of kindness only reinforces in my mind that mum is in the right place. Her room is always clean and spotless. I'm always kept informed of mum's wellbeing whether it be appointments, resident of the day or if there's an issue. All the staff are amazing and we have got to know quite a lot of them over the years. Some even make a point of coming to chat to us when we are visiting now. There is such a wide and varied range of activities to keep the residents occupied, and there is a minibus to take the residents on outings. I have nothing but praise for the Manager and her team and can't thank her enough.

Our Mum has been in Coniston House for a number of years now and the demands to look after her have unfortunately increased as her general health has deteriorated. However the team at Coniston have always been so supportive in looking after Mum in terms of her physical and mental well being. As issues
have inevitably arisen they have proactively responded and handled medical intervention and support to Mum whilst always keeping us informed on the status until the matter has been resolved. Also I really cannot commend the motivation and work ethic of the staff highly enough and the exemplary service they continue to provide to all residents, organising regular activities and events which benefits both residents and relatives alike.
Overall Coniston and the team are fully deserving of any plaudits they receive and in my opinion more than justify a 5 star rating!

What an amazing group of kind, caring and compassionate individuals the team at Coniston House are, the home is spotless, the residents are always up, clean, and everyone works hard together to ensure they are well supported and there is always lots going on. My mum has been living here for 2 years
now, and as her condition has deteriorated the team continue to actively involve her in and I know have her best interests at heart, they cannot do enough for the residents and it is lovely to see and very reassuring. Like most I was nervous when my mum first had to go into the home, but I needn't have worried the staff at Coniston House have all been amazing and I have total peace of mind that she is well looked after, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Coniston House if you are looking for a kind, caring ,compassionate and stable environment for your loved ones to live in.

I generally pleased with Coniston House and the care given to my husband. I have concerns about the number of expensive items that have been 'lost' or put in the washer. I know he can fiddle with things but it isn't hard to check bedding and clothing before it goes in the washer?. I have not been offered
any recompense for the items.
Sometimes carers are on their phones instead of interacting with the patients. Why do 2 carers go at once for lunch, leaving 1 carer only in the lounge upstairs?
When a resident requests assistance I think carers should not say' I'll take him/her when I've finished this' but be given priority.
