Royley House was originally built as a sheltered housing project set close to the centre of Royton. In 2000 it was taken over by Rochcare Ltd and transformed into a two storey residential home for older people.

My mother has lived in her council flat for more than 30 years, so it was very hard to her to make a transition to a care home.
Royley House stood out from the rest. As soon as I walked in, it felt homely, clean and welcoming. The management and staff are very smart and professional.
My mum's on a
12 week placement, so far it's been excellent and now can't see her anywhere else.

My mum moved into Royley House in February 2025 and the care she received brought about an immediate improvement in her wellbeing. She has since settled in and the staff continue to monitor and look after her daily care needs. My mum's room is lovely and provides space for more personal visits when
not sat in either the lounge or conservatory. The staff arrange regular activities for the residents to participate in, often also joining in. The many Facebook updates provide a great comfort on the days we are unable to visit, showing the residents enjoying their activities. We are very pleased with our decision in placing mum in Royley House and grateful for the care and companionship she receives. Thanks to all the staff, in every role, who ensure my mum continues to receive the best care, also providing regular updates on her welfare.

Mum has been a resident at Royley House for the last 7 years. The care she receives is excellent. All her needs are managed in a dignified and caring way. I don't live locally so I know that she is being looked after to a high standard, and her being at Royley House puts my mind at ease. Each time we
visit we are always greeted with a smile, a hello, a brew and biscuits. Treating family members with this level of kindness only reinforces in my mind that mum is in the right place. Her room is always clean and spotless. I'm always kept informed of mum's wellbeing whether it be appointments, resident of the day or if there's an issue. All the staff are amazing and we have got to know quite a lot of them over the years. Some even make a point of coming to chat to us when we are visiting now. There is such a wide and varied range of activities to keep the residents occupied, and there is a minibus to take the residents on outings. I have nothing but praise for the Manager and her team and can't thank her enough.

Mum has been in this home since early 2024, not the easiest of patient to deal with sadly but the staff and management have dealt with all situations with professionalism and sensitivity. After 18 months as a visitor you get to know staff and friendly faces really helps. I couldn't wish for better place
for Mum, they care and that means the world to our family. Forever thanks for everything you continue to do for Mum.

I visit my mum regular in Royley House, the home is lovely, clean and welcoming. Always smells clean and fresh, staff are genuinely caring and kind, they look happy to be working here, always entertaining the residents with games and other activities, when I watch the videos I feel I have been entertained
aswell. Mum is happy here and looked after excellently. We are very happy we chose Royley House for Mum's care.

My mum moved into Royley house in June 2025 and is the happiness we have seen her in a long time. When we first visited Royley House it stood out from all the other nursing homes we went to immediately. The atmosphere was very relaxing and loving, we noticed every member of staff was interacting with
residents in such a king and caring manner. The efforts they make to get everyone involved in daily activities and outings is truly captivating. I look forward to seeing the pictures every day of my mum having fun and making new friends, truly heart-warming knowing we made the right decision when moving her out of her own home to a place that has changed her life in such a positive way. I want to say thank you for the wonderful, professional care your staff is giving to my mum, to see her smile again and look forward to each day is a credit to Royley House. Me and my family are extremely happy with Mum's care. She is very happy and content. All the staff are friendly, caring and very professional. Mum enjoys the food and activities. Both my parents have been residents for the past 8 months. It was a huge and difficult decision to move them out of their own home, and we looked at numerous care homes before settling on Royley House. We have certainly made the right choice. The staff couldn't do enough to support us, and did everything
they could to help them settle in, including spending a lot of time not just understanding their care needs but getting to know them on a personal level. The quality of care is exceptional, the staff really care and are always ready to go the extra mile. Nothing is too much trouble.


Communication is excellent, there is regular contact and staff act promptly on any feedback. My parents benefit hugely from the varied trips and visits that are on offer, and are also gently persuaded to take part in the extensive activities programme, which they love. I can't recommend Royley House highly enough. It offers a safe, caring environment were staff treat everyone with love, dignity and respect.

My mum became a resident in June this year and the first couple of weeks were very rough and she found it difficult to settle but the staff and management were amazing. Now 5 weeks in and she is the happiest I've seen her for years. Not sat in her flat lonely and not eating properly. She is looked after
to a very high standard with great food and caring staff. The home is kept lovely and clean and all my mums needs are met to a fantastic standard. The coordinator who takes the residence out and about and also arrange entertainment daily is amazing. I've not seen my mum smile so much and is enjoying every day. I can't thank the staff and management enough for taking our worries away and making our mum feel safe happy and enjoying life again Thank you

Our mother has been a resident at Royley House in Royton for the last 18 months.
The whole time she was there she was treated with love, respect and dignity. The care she received from all staff was of the highest quality. As a family we could not have asked for more.
Sadly mum passed away last week
at Royley House. During her last weeks mum was given the best care, she was very comfortable and treated with love.
We do not have the words to thank ALL the staff for not only caring for mum but loving her too.
Thank you for being there for us too, giving us space, support and comfort.

Mum was only there a short while. The care was second to none. The staff are a credit to the company. I would highly recommend this care home. Good to see so many activities going on and involving everyone. A beautiful place and surroundings, very friendly mum was happy there and cared for very well.

My mum has been looked after very well while she was staying in Royley House. The staff and management are all compassionate, nothing was too much trouble, and the carers are a credit to their uniform. Overall, very happy experience for my mum and family. My mum was very well looked after.

I cannot tell you how grateful I am for Royley House. This place is a home from home. Since my Grandma has been here, she has been nothing but happy and comfortable. My mother in law has been a happy resident at Royley House for 3 years now. The manager is amazing and knows my family and I very well. She is constantly looking for feedback and ways of improving. (I don't think you can!). Such wonderful and caring staff. My M-I-L used to join in the activities at
one time. Now there seems to be something everyday. Unfortunately, since January this year, she is now on end of life care and has to remain in bed. The amount of care she requires and receives is more of a one to one type as she needs feeding, keeping hydrated, regular turning and intimacy care. This is carried out with great care and compassion.
Royley House is not a residential care home, it's just home. We as an entire family are treated well, offered drinks and genuinely feel that it is her home. We won't ever switch to a nursing facility as we want our relative to pass away at home. Royley House IS HER HOME.

My mum has been a resident at RH Care Home since February 2023, and I have nothing but praise for the staff and management of this exceptional home. The remarkably low staff turnover means that residents and carers build strong, familiar relationships, creating a true sense of community. Mum has been
very happy at RH and we deeply appreciate the dedicated care she receives in what truly feels like a home-from-home.

Mum has been in RH since October 2024 and is very settled there. The manager and carers are amazing. She recently celebrated a birthday and I wanted to thank the whole care team for making mums day so special. She had a lovely time and her friends and family really appreciated it. The chef at RH made
her a beautiful cake with candles. It was a big decision to place mum in a Care Home but the family is grateful for her transition to RH and the amazing care team there.

My name is Gemma and I am the Deputy Manager here at Royley House. I have always had a passion for care since being a young child, I had the opportunity to go along to work with my mum who worked in residential and nursing care throughout my childhood. During my time spent in the homes, I saw the love and care provided by the staff and also gained valuable insights into the intricacies of providing exceptional care. This ignited my passion to enter the care profession. I am driven by the belief that quality care is not just a duty but a calling and I have worked hard to progress in my career which began as a care assistant around 5 years ago. I aim to ensure an outstanding level of care is provided to our residents here at Royley House and is upheld at all times. I look forward to meeting you at Royley House soon!
