Since coming into Royley House just over 3 months ago my mum has come on immensely. She is more alert and takes part in some of the activities. Her dietary needs are being met and she is encouraged to eat and drink, also any requests are acted on promptly.

The care, compassion and dignity shown to my Mum by all the staff at Royley was exceptional and as a family we can't thank them enough. From the Management and administration to the Housekeeping, Catering, Events Co-ordinator, Hairdresser and Maintenance who all play their part in keeping the home clean and running smoothly. Always approachable, friendly and kind to myself and family, made to feel welcome and I grew very fond of the staff. Any issues we had were always resolved quickly and efficiently. Knowing my Mum was safe and happy when I left gave me great comfort. Thank you

My dad has been a resident in Royley house for 6 months, the management team and all the staff have been amazing the way they have got to know my dad and his requirements. Activities take place daily, including day trips out, which is a favourite for not only my dad but for the other residents too. Royley house is a fantastic place!

Since my parents moved into the care home we have noticed a massive difference with them, they're so happy all the time be it say in longe charting with their friends or on one of the many excursions they go on, They're clean, secure, very well fed and all their medical needs are attended to.
As a family it's taken a massive amount of stress off us knowing they're in good hands.

Thank you to all the amazing staff especially James who's like a knight in shining armour for us & them.

This care home is truly a wonderful place. My dad has been a resident here for over 2 years now and he has received the best care from all members of the staff. He is happy, well looked after with his personal care and he loves the food.

Staff are welcoming, informative about how my dad has been, and although my dad doesn't join in with the daily activities, the team always make an effort to come into my dad's room to have a chat.

I couldn't express or have enough praise and gratitude in only one word so here goes, the management, all care staff including domestic, chefs, activities co-ordinator (sorry if I've forgot anyone) but all that are active within the care setting are all amazing ,all of yous work as a team that actually bounce of each other with great communication and I am delighted, relieved and proud that my mother my world is in safe hands and actually happy I have had conversations with her after a long struggle bringing her smile back due to her not being settled in a short term placement, yous were of full occupancy when we needed you but as soon as I heard you had a vacancy my wife came knocking and welcomed with such wonderful hospitality from management and staff, mum moved within a week and it was like a lightbulb had been switched on, her smile was back , asked what mum thought and her reply was " I love it here it feels like home".

Thankyou for everything.

We are so incredibly grateful for the care and kindness shown to our dad. Living with dementia is challenging, but from the beginning he has always been made to feel safe, welcome, and valued.

The team create such a warm, caring atmosphere-it's clear that kindness and respect are at the heart of everything they do. Every member of staff we've encountered has been patient, understanding, and genuinely compassionate, not only towards our dad but towards us as a family as well.

We feel reassured every day knowing there is such a wonderful team looking after him. Thank you for everything you do.

Gemma Griffiths
Gemma GriffithsJob Title:Deputy Manager

My name is Gemma and I am the Deputy Manager here at Royley House. I have always had a passion for care since I was a young child. I had the opportunity to go along to work with my mum, who worked in residential and nursing care throughout my childhood. During my time spent in the homes, I saw the love and care provided by the staff and also gained valuable insights into the intricacies of providing exceptional care. This ignited my passion to enter the care profession. I am driven by the belief that quality care is not just a duty but a calling, and I have worked hard to progress in my career, which began as a care assistant around 5 years ago. I aim to ensure an outstanding level of care is provided to our residents here at Royley House and is upheld at all times. I look forward to meeting you at Royley House soon!

I started my career in 1994 after my children started school. I worked within the leisure services as a Receptionist and Swimming Teacher. I progressed in 2000 to an Administration Role in Bolton, my duties included Payroll, invoicing, and customer communications. In 2002, I was promoted to Northwest Admin support, which covered Manchester and Bolton.

Within this role, I helped in phasing in new leisure Centres and Inclusive training for the admin teams on-site. In 2013, I was promoted to Regional Admin Support covering seven regions. In 2024, I was looking for a more local position close to home and was offered the administrative position at Royley House. The staff here are first class and always willing to help and support. The care for the residents is immaculate, and I am proud to work under an outstanding Management Team.

I am a great believer in “Our residents do not live where we work, we work in their home”

James Conway
James ConwayJob Title:Activity Co-ordinator

My name is James and I have been a qualified Hairdresser for 15 years prior to taking over the Activity Coordinator role here at Royley House. This position suits me we as it fits in with home life, as I have a younger daughter. At home, we have lots of extended family from the animal kingdom. I am very passionate about the positive impact animals have and often bring some of them in for a cuddle with residents. Animal therapy is a passion I have, so I also plan trips out around this, too. Coming to work feels like being part of a big family, partially down to the team I work with but mostly because of the residents. I thrive knowing the activities I plan and the adventures we partake in are helping to enrich the day-to-day lives of residents.
