My Mother has been living at Coniston House for several years. She is very settled and happy there. Massive weight off my shoulders that she is safe now.
Always something going on. The Staff are wonderful and understanding.
Mother is OK and well looked after, which I couldn't do anymore.

A perfect home for mum, she is very well looked after, staff are all very helpful and professional but with warmth.
The home has so much going on which stimulates the residents. In house activities and outdoor trips.
Staff are very attentive and caring, always happy to help with any questions or
requests.
I do feel I could not have chose a better home for my mum.

Our Mum has been in Coniston House for a number of years now and the demands to look after her have unfortunately increased as her general health has deteriorated. However the team at Coniston have always been so supportive in looking after Mum in terms of her physical and mental well being. As issues
have inevitably arisen they have proactively responded and handled medical intervention and support to Mum whilst always keeping us informed on the status until the matter has been resolved. Also I really cannot commend the motivation and work ethic of the staff highly enough and the exemplary service they continue to provide to all residents, organising regular activities and events which benefits both residents and relatives alike.
Overall Coniston and the team are fully deserving of any plaudits they receive and in my opinion more than justify a 5 star rating!

Up to now I am very pleased with the way my husband has settled in at Coniston house , he appears to have a good relationship with the staff and they are kind and attentive, he is for the most part well dressed . I am confident that any medical issues will be addressed straightaway. He enjoys the food
which from what I have seen is top notch . It is a huge relief to know my husband is well cared for , and has helped to improve my overall health enormously thank you .

During that time she has received the very best of care in every area.
All staff are polite and treat her with dignity and compassion.

What an amazing group of kind, caring and compassionate individuals the team at Coniston House are, the home is spotless, the residents are always up, clean, and everyone works hard together to ensure they are well supported and there is always lots going on. My mum has been living here for 2 years
now, and as her condition has deteriorated the team continue to actively involve her in and I know have her best interests at heart, they cannot do enough for the residents and it is lovely to see and very reassuring. Like most I was nervous when my mum first had to go into the home, but I needn't have worried the staff at Coniston House have all been amazing and I have total peace of mind that she is well looked after, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Coniston House if you are looking for a kind, caring ,compassionate and stable environment for your loved ones to live in.

I generally pleased with Coniston House and the care given to my husband. I have concerns about the number of expensive items that have been 'lost' or put in the washer. I know he can fiddle with things but it isn't hard to check bedding and clothing before it goes in the washer?. I have not been offered
any recompense for the items.
Sometimes carers are on their phones instead of interacting with the patients. Why do 2 carers go at once for lunch, leaving 1 carer only in the lounge upstairs?
When a resident requests assistance I think carers should not say' I'll take him/her when I've finished this' but be given priority.

Both our parents are now residing iin the care home and we are very happy with the way they are looked after. They are eating well and my father has put weight on since going into the home. All the staff are lovely and we are very pleased with the care all around.

After visiting my husband here for 18 months, I can’t sing the praises of the management and staff loud enough! If any care home deserves 5 stars and a score of 10 out of 10 it surely has to be Coniston House. The home is spotless, homely and all residents are cared for with love and affection. There
are so many activities as well as regular visits from singers, and residents are actively encouraged to participate. It has given me peace of mind knowing that my husband is safe and well looked after here. Thank you everyone.

As a new resident, my dad has struggled with the change and his feelings of lost independence. The staff have been absolutely excellent. His needs have been continually assessed and his care plan tweaked accordingly to make it right for him and us. Staff have been incredibly supportive of me as a daughter
making difficult decisions and have always made me feel so welcome to visit or call.
Everyone, including senior staff, management and administration staff has such positive interactions with the residents - everybody in there is working hard to make life as fulfilling as possible for the guests living there. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Coniston to any family who is looking for a care home for a loved one with dementia. Thank you to everyone for all that you do.

Mum has been at Coniston House Care Home for eighteen months and in that time she has been really settled. Mum has enjoyed lots of outings as well as entertainment which has been put on for the residents. The staff and management work really hard to give the residents a really good experience. Mum has

Job Title: Registered Home Manager

I have worked in social care for over 30 years. Starting off as a Carer in a small residential home, I have progressed through the ranks as a Senior carer and then Deputy Manager.


My first role as a registered Manager was in 2007 and since then I have gained a wide range of experience within the care sector from small companies to the larger cooperative ones.


I have completed NVQs at levels 2 3 4, the Registered Managers award and a certificate in Leadership and Management.


Before starting work with Rochcare I was employed as a Peripatetic Manager travelling around the Country.


I enjoy working in Chorley, as it is my home town and I get job satisfaction knowing I am providing a safe and high standard of care for my local community who live with Dementia.

Kirsty Thompson

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2015

I have worked at Coniston House for 5 years, starting here as a senior carer, I was then promoted into a Team leader position in 2016. And in October I was promoted to Deputy Manager.


I am very passionate about the level of care that we give and also the progress that the home has made. I've worked closely alongside the previous Deputy and the Manager, supporting them in the general day to day running of the home.


I attend regular training sessions keeping my knowledge and skills up to date, I also achieved a NVQ level 5 management and leadership award last year.


I am the home’s medication champion, providing and ensuring the safe practice of administration of medications. I train and update senior staff our systems, ensuring competency assessments are in place for administering medication.

Job Title: Activity Coordinator Joined: 2015

I have worked at Coniston for almost 4 years starting as a Care Assistant. A year ago, I was asked if I would change my role to that of activities coordinator, this has been one of the best decisions I have made.


I attend pre-admission assessments with the Managers to introduce myself to the residents and their Families before they come into the home, letting them know about all the wonderful activities we do here.


I am passionate about providing person-centred activities to our Residents and in turn promoting the home. All the Residents and staff have lots of ‘Bright Moments’ at Coniston.


As well as the day to day in house activities such as the choir, bingo afternoons armchair exercises and pampering we also have weekly trips to the supermarket and the pub.


We also hold lots of fund-raising events and anything raised contributes to the bigger outings, for example, The Farm, The seaside, and local Pantomime.

I have worked at Coniston House for over 9 years, starting as a night carer.
I decided after a while that I would like to apply for the day carer role that had become available.


However, not long afterwards I started working in the kitchen as a cook.
I soon realised that I was missing the interaction with the residents by being in the kitchen, so I decided to return to care.


I know now that working within the social care industry is where I want to be, so I am currently undergoing training for more of a senior role. I would love to take on more responsibility and training in the skills required for medication administration.


I feel that I am a very caring individual and I am passionate about my job, caring and interacting with the residents is the favourite part of my job. I find the whole aspect of social care extremely rewarding.


I am currently completing my NVQ Level 3 in social care.
