I needed to find my mum 24 hour nursing care fast when she was being discharged from hospital after having suffered a bad fall which had accelerated her dementia. I was so relieved when I telephoned the manager and was told there was a room available for her. The day she arrived I went in and to my astonishment I found my mum smiling and happy in her new bed. Staff did a great job of welcoming her and settling her in. Over the coming weeks my mum was transformed thanks to the amazing carers and nurses. They soon had her up out of bed, full dressed and feeding herself. This has given me and my family such sheer relief and peace of mind. During her stay she has so enjoyed music therapy, numerous parties and one to one activities with staff. They have even taken her out for a coffee. We have celebrated my dad's 90th birthday party with her when staff made us a birthday cake and decorated the room. All the staff treat my mum (and my dad) with the greatest respect, dignity and love.
Thank you for your lovely review. New residents will always receive a warm welcome to Marine View Lodge. We understand it can be a daunting experience moving to new surroundings with new faces and sounds and we will always make the transition as smooth and welcoming as possible. We are so pleased...
This review is from experience of 1 month at Marine View Lodge. I couldn't be more thrilled that my 89 year old father was offered a place here. The staff and amenities are excellent - Dad says the food could be hotter, but that's the only bad thing he said.
We are glad that your early impressions of Marine View Lodge are excellent! Thank you for choosing our care home for your father, it is a pleasure to have him stay here. The staff strive to provide excellent care and they will be very pleased you have recognised this. We very much hope your father continues to enjoy his new home! Many thanks.
My mother-in-law, who has dementia, moved into Marine View Lodge nursing home in June 2021 following a fall at home and a spell in hospital. At the time she was bed-bound and unable to feed herself, however thanks to the loving attention of the carers and nursing staff she was soon able to be dressed and regain some mobility along with regaining her healthy appetite and the ability to feed herself again. The change in her well being and appearance in a few months was nothing short of miraculous due entirely to the professional attention of all the staff whom I couldn’t fault. My father-in-law visits every day and is now welcomed as part of the family, he has been treated with great dignity which has helped him come to terms with his wife of 66 years having to go into care. Overall from what I have seen and experienced I would highly recommend the Marine View Lodge.
Thank you for sharing the progress your mum has made since moving into Marine View Lodge. With loving care and attention it is amazing to see the improvement residents can make, even in a short period of time. It is lovely for families to see the change in their relative's appearance and behaviour;...
She is cared for extremely well and treated with dignity and respect in a caring, compassionate manner.
The nurses and carers are angels and should be appreciated more for the work that they do.
Thank you for your very kind review. Our staff will be so pleased to know you are happy with the care your mum is receiving. To know your mum feels she is being treated with dignity, compassion and respect is truly marvellous, our staff are so caring and work very hard, we appreciate your lovely...
I had a fall at home in my bedroom in October. I was really poorly in hospital and I was sent to Marine View Lodge to continue learning to walk again and get better. I was very frightened as I had never been in a care home before and I was nervous about falling again. Because of Covid, I was told that I had to stay in my room at first and not mix as I needed to be tested. I felt so ill I want to be bothered, I didn’t really want to speak to anyone anyway. I didn’t want to eat, but the nurses encouraged me to and the physios were the people who wanted to make me walk again. A lady there became my lifeline in there, she would bounce into my room, do my hair for me and take me down to the lounge. I loved every minute. They did a birthday cake and party for my 83rd birthday, I met the Chef and the Manager used to come to my room and sit and chat with me. Nothing was too much trouble, I came home yesterday I will miss it all. I feel like a new woman.
We would like to thank you for your lovely review, and so happy that you enjoyed your birthday and time with us. We like to make a fuss of our residents, at all times, but especially birthdays. A whole day, I know you enjoyed from sing-song, watching a concert with newly made friends and a drink...
My lovely mum had a fall at home and broke her hip. After a hospital stay, she was brought to the Marine View Lodge. She was frail and weak, and the difference in her now a few weeks down the line is breathtaking. Excellent nursing care and food have built her up, but I believe the biggest contributor to her bounce back has been the lady who organises so many fun interactive events, it's inspiring. My mum couldn't be in safer hands, she's coming home soon and will miss Marine View Lodge and all the staff, and that statement is from someone who is there right now and says it all really. Thank you for caring for my mum like a family.
Thanks for your lovely review. I spoke with your mum yesterday and she was looking forward to coming home to your family. She could not praise the staff, the Lodge itself and our wonderful rooms and foods enough. She spent her birthday with us, which I attended and had a fabulous afternoon, one of...
Well done to this amazing team of people.
Thank you for your lovely review, and the team are so glad that your dad was happy with his time here. The staff are indeed amazing, as you say, they go the extra mile to make sure our residents have everything they need to be comfortable, safe and secure.
I will pass your best wishes on to all of the staff. Once again thanks, we are so proud of our Lodge and the team that work here
Following a stay in the hospital, our father has been recuperating at Marine View Lodge. Yesterday, he celebrated his 95th birthday, and we would just like to take a moment to thank all the staff for the wonderful day they gave him. Staff went to a tremendous effort to ensure that everything was just perfect! The room looked amazing with fabulous balloons and banners, and the tables looked so pretty with flower arrangements. His birthday cards were thoughtfully displayed around the room, and he was even given a lovely ‘happy birthday’ glass as a gift. Delightful afternoon tea was provided, and on the big screen, they showed a concert - dad’s favourite musician. The staff made sure we Facetimed dad, which was lovely and even Facetimed his grandson in the USA! In these difficult times when we are separated from those we love and care about most, it is heartwarming and comforting to know he is surrounded by such kind, caring people. Words cannot express our appreciation.
Thank you for your lovely review, we must say we try our utmost to ensure all of our residents have a wonderful time every day, not just birthdays. It was a pleasure to spend his birthday, the rest of the residents loved it too, listening to classical music and enjoying the cakes and goodies...
My husband is a resident at Marine View Lodge. The standard of care has been excellent. Any requests or queries we have had have been dealt with promptly and efficiently. The staff are always involved with the residents. They are light-hearted, friendly and welcoming. There’s always a cup of tea or coffee on offer for visitors. All the rooms and open areas are bright and clean.

My grandad was well taken care of here. Wanted for nothing and was loved by staff as if he was part of their family. We are so glad we chose Athena. The home is well placed to visit with New Brighton station being next door.
Thanks for your lovely review, I know I spoke to you and you felt that your granddad had the best time he could with us. The care is the best anyone will find, all of the staff treat our residents and staff as all are part of their own family. A more top-class care home you will be hard to...
Excellent care home with outstanding staff who look after their residents by treating them as individuals and as family, giving them care, support and respect they deserve and need. I would fully recommend this care home.
Thank you very much for your response. It has been a difficult time all around. But the team at Marine View Lodge have gone that extra mile to ensure the security and safety of our residents is premium. Rest assured, a better place you will not find. The staff provide love and care to our residents...
Wonderful home and staff are wonderful. My mam has settled in well and her health seems to have improved. No hospital admissions, unlike last year. Plenty of activities for her to join in with if wanted. I would highly recommend this home.

My husband moved here at the end of November. All the carers and staff have been wonderful. Everyone has made a real effort to get to know him and understand his needs. There have been various activities and he has been encouraged to join in with all of them.
