My friend is very well cared for and loved by all the staff. She looks good i.e. hygiene and care. Plenty going on (which she doesn't like joining in). Food is excellent and I know she is happy.

We have only had experience of Marine View Lodge for two weeks but are more than satisfied with the care being provided by the home. My husband has settled well and seems content which is a huge comfort for me.

We are highly impressed with the high levels and standards of care. All the staff are friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. There are plenty of activities for the residents to attend. Family members are always made to feel welcome when visiting.

I will ensure I feedback to the chefs at the home and get the menu reviewed, we do, however, always use fresh produce and haven't had any other concerns raised regarding the food. Also, we don't use any agency staff at the home, and therefore, have a small team of nurses who cover all the shifts and any annual leave and sickness. Therefore, they will work on different floors to ensure they know all our residents and work across days and nights. Please do though, call in and discuss any issues with our lodge manager, who would be more than happy to assist you.

We have been very pleased with the staff at Marine Lodge. They go above and beyond in engaging with the residents, making them feel almost like friends rather than care staff. The residence is run professionally and recently the number and variety of activities has improved. A wish would be for the rooms to be cleaned and hoovered more thoroughly/regularly. Recently, there has been no hot water on my mother's floor (for three weeks and counting) which means no baths/showers, which is not satisfactory. Overall, we are very happy with Marine View Lodge.

All rooms and public areas are cleaned on a daily basis, but I will draw your comments to the attention of our housekeepers. The hot water on your mother's floor is, we know, currently warm rather than very hot. That is being attended to.

We are extremely happy with the care Mum receives at Marine View Lodge. We had to move her here from another nursing home in early 2023 because the previous home couldn't provide the specialist care she needed. Thankfully, due to the skilled and experienced dementia care and nursing staff, she has settled in well and appears happy and contented every time we visit, which was rarely the case in the old nursing home. The residents are kept stimulated by regular activities which they appear to enjoy, and the staff put on fun parties during the year (e.g. Mother's Day, Easter, Christmas, etc) which the residents really enjoy. It is also reassuring to see that the place is really well staffed by plenty of carers, so all the residents get enough care and attention. I would highly recommend Marine View Lodge for dementia care. A big thank you to all the staff.

The building is always kept so clean in every aspect and as my father is coming to the end stage of his Parkinson's which is unfortunate but grateful for how all members of staff are keeping me up to date with his condition and having a care plan in place which gives me peace of mind. They always have activities and let families know about this all the time. All members of staff have treated me and my family with amazing respect and kindness some of which I even call friends now. I should also mention that my father's previous care home didn't meet all his standards but Marine View has gone above and beyond for him and I appreciate it.

Visitors are asked to use facilities in the middle lounge to make drinks but there are no mugs/cups available and no coffee, tea, sugar and milk - probably not high on anyone’s priorities but it would be nice if they were available
