Absolutely brilliant! Staff are friendly, and caring for the residents is the number one priority. Granny is the happiest she has been for years, and we are so grateful for everything they have made the change into the care home so easy! The staff are always happy to take a moment to answer our questions also, which makes the transition feel less scary. Really happy!

Thank you for your lovely review, which the team were very pleased to receive. Your grandmother is a very popular resident, and all the residents and staff now know the words to 'Daisy, Daisy' off by heart! We'll have to do a little concert for you when you next visit.

The inability to get any assistance for my mother with her phone, she's a stroke victim and her phone wasn't charged for 12 out of 14 days stay, The inability of being able to speak to anyone that could answer the phone or assist in this matter cut my mother off from any contact, save the carers for all but 3 days of her stay due to not also being taken to the dining area. A Covid outbreak meant some were isolated, including my mum who didn't have it. Food below expectations also, fresh was expected not reheated.

Disappointing after previous brilliant service at another Barchester home.

Mother and father-in-law arrived at Kings Park after quite a few problematic weeks, mother from another care home and father a month later from hospital. The staff at Kings Park have been exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble, everything is explained in good detail. The management team have been extremely helpful, understanding and accommodating of our family needs. The care staff are patient, kind and compassionate to just the right level and the admin team can always find the answer to questions and is extremely welcoming. All in all a beautiful home with excellent facilities and excellent staff.

My brother's and I visited a lot of care homes in the Ferndown area but once we had visited Kings Park, it always stayed at the top of our list because of the positive attitude of the staff and the planned actions the management had to improve mum's quality of life. Mum has now been at Kings Park for almost 4 weeks and we've seen our mothers quality of life and wellbeing greatly improve over this period.
She is taking her medicines, eating plenty of delicious food offered at Kings Park, socialising with the other residents and going on organised trips to Bournemouth and the New Forest. More than that we all think mum is happy at Kings Park.

Well done to the Kings Park team.

My mum was the first resident at Kings Park Care Home and was treated like royalty upon arrival and ever since. Mum has settled in very well following a turbulent time due to her dementia. All the staff and management have been absolutely fantastic and I couldn't praise them highly enough. I know mum is happy there and that makes me and our family happy and grateful. The support from everyone means the world to mum and all of her children. Thank you Kings Park.

Jenna May
Jenna MayJob Title:Senior General ManagerJoined: 2023

Hi, my name is Jenna, and I am the General Manager here at Kings Park Care Home.

I have worked in senior healthcare roles, including the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, and have spent the past ten years working in management in a nursing home environment, having experienced domiciliary, acute and nursing care settings. I understand and empathise with the challenges residents and their families are going through when looking for care for themselves or their loved ones. It is my mission to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible.

Supporting the families of those in our care is something that I feel very strongly about, and from the time of enquiry, through to moving in and beyond, I aim to be there for the families as much as the residents themselves. Moving into a care home can often be a huge change as their loved one adapts to new surroundings, gets to know all of the teams supporting residents with their needs. I am well aware of how important reassurance and constant communication are for all involved. This is something that the Kings Park family are very good at as a whole, and I am so lucky that I get to share all my knowledge and work with such a fantastic team.

My ethos is ensuring that each and every resident lives their lives to the full, celebrating each day in a warm and welcoming environment, with a range of life-enriching activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, outstanding person-centred care and the most delicious food prepared by our talented chefs at Kings Park. Being a resident of St. Leonards myself, I have great links with the local community, giving the residents the opportunity to still feel part of our local community.

I joined the team at King's Park in 2024, coming from other Senior healthcare roles within the care home setting, including residential, dementia and nursing.

Before embarking on a career change into health care, I worked in leadership roles in the hospitality sector; being able to transition my prior experiences and implement them in my roles in health care, continuing to strive for further self-development.

Cultivating interpersonal relationships within the team, residents, relatives and multidisciplinary professionals.

Collaborating to achieve overarching goals to meet and exceed needs with exceptional service; providing person-centred support in a secure, comfortable environment.

Being adaptive, supportive, with a dynamic approach and altruistic efforts to empower and embrace the positive culture within King's Park to ascertain our commitment to celebrating life and embracing each individual.

In my downtime, I love spending time with my family. I like to be creative, enjoy crafting and baking, and taking on new adventures and experiences. Enjoy travelling, exploring different countries. Even if for a day!

Martin Tilly-Reed
Martin Tilly-ReedJob Title:Activities Coordinater

My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide are stimulating and inclusive of all our residents, no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings, we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life before joining Kings Park, which will make for a richer activities program to be developed.

I look forward to getting to know you and your loved ones.

Jackie ClarkeJob Title:Home AdministratorJoined: 2022

Jackie comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience from her 15 years in the care industry, having worked with adults with learning difficulties and children with autism, before finally working in the older adult care sector. However, it was caring for her late grandfather that prompted her to step into the industry, where she specialised in end-of-life care and provided much-needed support and help to families and loved ones as somebody neared their natural end.

Three years ago, Jackie was offered a role working in a slightly different area of the care home, in the admin sector, which is something that she has grown to love and also where she is able to help and support in a very different kind of way, in caring for families and individuals as they entering into a care home life and beyond. It is here that Jackie feels she has now finally found her calling.

When not at work, Jackie and her partner, Shaun, can often be found walking their 2-year-old sprocker, Kenny or being busy parents to two teenage children. Jackie loves nothing more than boarding a jet and heading off to the sun for some much-needed R&R or on a weekend heading out to a nice pub for a spot of lunch, before a little evening Netflix.

We are so very lucky to have Jackie on board and we are excited to have her join our wonderful Kings Park team!
