Over the last year when visiting my relatives room has been showing signs of lack of cleaning, dirty cups left on the side all weekend. No towels or face cloths in the bathroom, a basket of soiled laundry in the bathroom all weekend. The room floor was dirty, doors hanging off the furniture and the
room smelling.
The home is registered for dementia however they do not seem to provide prompting to my relative to wash. It is distressing to see my relative like this as when more able this is now how they would like to be. To smell and clearly have not been supported to wash/shower. They are were dirty unshaven, nails were dirty and uncared for.
I have observed that residents no longer had a tea trolly either am or pm over the period of my visit only those well and in the lounge received a drink. My relative is palliative care and sleeps a lot and received no drink.
As absent relatives we rely on the home to provide care and support.

Everything great to begin with until bruises started to appear!! Home tried telling us it was age related! Documentation of incidents was terrible.
Moved relative to different home no bruises! Staff nowhere to be seen on bedroom corridors, so bedbound residents are left without care. On numerous occasions
I advised them that a resident was calling out and they replied by saying "oh they do that all the time" Staff are too busy congregating in reception instead of doing their jobs. Cleaning of bathrooms/rooms was constantly terrible (faeces visible on toilet and floor, even though I had been told the room had just been cleaned) and resident even left without a duvet on overnight on a number of occasions. Authorities intervened in the end. I would never recommend this home for your loved one.

Visited a family friend for the first time at Meadow Park and was blown away by how lovely it is. Spotless, all the staff were welcoming and very friendly. Our family friend is there for respite and has said he has never felt so comfortable or had better meals anywhere else. He couldn't say enough

Words cannot adequately express my thanks for the care given to my mum at end of life.
The entire team, because that's what they are, a superb team, showed the utmost care, respect and kindness. From the carers, front of house, housekeeping, management, domestic including the chefs, activity coordinators
- everyone I met treated my mum and me , my sister and other family members with extreme kindness, respect . I was overwhelmed by their care. Every member of staff was cheerful, made time to explain what was happening, always knocked before entering mum's room, always asked and explained to mum what they were doing as they cared for mum. My sister and I were fully included in mum's care plan. The staff were so supportive of us . Their kindness and gentleness, especially when mum died made a sad and difficult time a little more bearable.
My one regret is that mum didn't move here when she was fitter as she would have enjoyed the wonderful programme of activities on offer.

My only issue was the cleanliness of the dining room. I know it's a problem in the dementia part but cleaners should be able to clean up vomit pretty soon. Even the chairs looked grubby. But apart from this issue, we had no other problems and the staff were nice and friendly.

My mum had four weeks' respite in Meadows Park Care Home following a hospital admission, before going home. I visited her and spoke to staff several times on the phone - they were always so helpful and signposted me to other services.
I was blown away by the home itself - it doesn't have an institutionalised
look or feel at all, it's more of a hotel! It's beautifully decorated and appointed. Mum's room had everything she could need - an ensuite wet room, large wardrobes, plenty of cupboard/shelf space, a lovely, large smart TV, lockable units and a small fridge.
The only reason I've not given it five stars is that mum said the food could be variable but what I saw (and tasted!) was good. There are lots of activities which change every week, cinema nights, fun stuff, quiet activities... and Louth is lovely, for walks, coffee shops or just grabbing some fresh air.

All I can say is thank you so much. Six weeks ago as a family, we made one of the hardest decisions we have had to make. As a family unit, we were fast approaching crisis point caring for my 95 year old grandad. Carers and daily family contact in his home were not enough. His wishes had been to stay
at home until the end. Meadows Park Care Home and the lovely staff have made what we were expecting to be a very emotionally traumatic experience for our family and grandad very easy. Giving us the confidence to know he is cared for to a high standard in beautiful surroundings. Nothing has been too much trouble and they have not only made us feel very welcome they have given Grandad a more supportive home where he is free to be himself something he was very worried about. The activities and events are varied and inclusive to all, should Grandad wish to participate, but if not his room has everything he needs and more. He is always smartly presented, shaven and well fed. Thank you, you are all amazing.
