My father was only a resident for a very short time as he sadly passed away. However, during his stay, the staff were amazing with him and treated him with the utmost respect. The home is beautiful and the rooms are lovely.
The staff are all very friendly, kind and caring. The nurses were with us
at the time of dads passing and their support and kindness during such a difficult time was greatly appreciated.
Reply from Tina Blake, Home Manager at Bridgewater Manor Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words, they are greatly appreciated and I will pass them on to all staff. We are so grateful we were able to be with you and provide support at the time of your dad's passing and provide the care he needed but also yourselves.
Again, thank you so much.

My mother required “respite care” after a serious operation. From the moment I approached the Bridgewater Manor - the compassion and consideration they showed was second to none. My mum was visited in the hospital for an assessment, and arrangements were made to transfer her to the home.
She has spent
four weeks at the home and has improved beyond anything I could have imagined.
The home is beautiful - but it’s a lot more than that. Without exception, every member of staff went above and beyond in their care and all their dealings with my mum. She was treated with dignity and huge respect at all times.
My mum has now returned to her own home with confidence and the ability to start living independently again - at 90 years of age - something that, as a family, we could not have imagined before her stay at the Bridgewater.
Thank you for everything, Bridgewater Manor - you have all been wonderful.
Reply from Tina Blake, Home Manager at Bridgewater Manor Care HomeThank you so much for your lovely feedback; it was a privilege and a pleasure to have your mother stay with us - it was good to see her improve over the weeks and return home ready to remain independent and live her life to the maximum! Thank you once again, and stay safe.

Our mum moved to Bridgewater Manor a couple of weeks ago, the change in her is amazing. We could not have put Mum in a safer environment.
We as a family have peace of mind that our mum is being cared for to a very high standard.
The management and all the staff are extremely caring and compassionate,
they are all so friendly and lovely.
A beautiful home, what more could we ask for.

When we arrived at Bridgewater Manor we were in a tricky situation as my mother had been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour and although having been discharged home, was unable to cope. The care home manager went out of her way to accommodate us, including scheduling an assessment on the first
day of her holiday, in order to meet Mum's needs swiftly. Once my mother became a resident for nursing care, I cannot thank the staff enough. They were not only kind and compassionate in the care of my mother, but to us as her family too, providing many hugs and supportive conversations. The care was exemplary, the staff so, so kind and helpful. We could not have asked for more in the last few weeks of her life.
The physical environment of the home is of course outstanding. It feels like a smart hotel. However, for me, over and above were the staff who were outstanding. Highly recommend.
Reply from Tina Blake, Home Manager at Bridgewater Manor Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words and I will ensure the staff are made aware of your feedback.
The staff go the extra mile to ensure both the relatives and their loved one receives a dignified and respectful service to meet their needs. It is always a privilege to be involved with the family at this very emotional time and I am so pleased we were able to be there with you and provide the support for you.
Thank you again.

My mum was a resident twice in between hospital stays and came away full of praise for the staff and level of care. I found the staff and management very attentive to her needs and they helped make a fairly traumatic period return to some form of normality. I will always be very grateful to them.

We are very happy with how Dad has settled in and how comfortable and relaxed he is. The staff are all great, always on hand when care is required and quick to offer a brew, which is always nice. All in all, the whole place is great and we are very happy we chose it!

Our mum was looking forward to her second respite stay at Bridgewater Manor. She looks so well during her stay. She is very happy, the staff are happy and we as a family are happy. We can have a family holiday and have peace of mind and reassurance that Mum is being cared for and looked after to a very
high standard. We would have no hesitation in recommending Bridgewater Manor.

Bridgewater Manor Care Centre, is an outstanding home. My mum has been here since February. She has settled in well and has made great progress with her recovery from neurosurgery, following a brain aneurysm. She has received fantastic care from all staff. The staff are extremely caring and compassionate.
Communication with the family and involving Mum in her care, is fantastic. A beautiful home, offering excellent care. Thank you.

Well, what can I say! My dad's last four weeks of life were made safe, comfortable and absolutely wonderful by the incredibly caring girls and boys in Bridgewater Manor. We as a family can't thank them enough. Nothing was too much trouble. When Dad passed away, all the staff walked by his coffin's side
to the funeral director's ambulance. We couldn't have asked for more.

Mum spent 9-days at Bridgewater Manor Care Centre for respite. She loved the people who looked after her and the residents that she made friends with. She felt like a member of the family and felt that her opinions and suggestions mattered, one idea was put on a notice board with her name next to it.
The team she said made time to listen, sit and talk and nothing was too much trouble. The facilities were as outstanding as the care, activities, meals and treats' she enjoyed. She danced, sang and smiled which was a joy to see and hear about. The stay exceeded our expectations with Easter crafts, dancing and a day out. A relaxing bath, something she hasn’t done for 25-years. All wonderful experiences and treasured moments. She has already told us that she would love to go back. I was equally impressed with the ease of arranging the stay and interaction with the managers and team. I know now my Mum was and will be in safe hands.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.578)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.578) out of 10 for Bridgewater Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.628 for Bridgewater Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (145 Excellents x 5) + (62 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 215 Ratings = 4.628
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bridgewater Manor Care Home is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 71 registered maximum number of service users is 14.2, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

I have worked in the care sector for over 17 years however I have been brought up around a care home environment since I was a child and it has always been a passion and something I have enjoyed. Before joining New Care I had worked at an EMI residential care setting for 16 years, I started in the kitchen when I was 15 then when I was able to I took on the role of care assistant eventually becoming deputy manager for 9 years of my time there, this is when I gained my Level 5 in management.

Joining Newcare was a massive leap for me however one that I do not regret in the slightest, it is a great company to work for, the home is beautiful and the team are fantastic. My passion is dementia care as I have personal experience caring for my nan and grandad through their dementia journey. I feel very strongly that we should support our special people to live their life well and they should be cared for at the highest standard, with dignity and respect at the forefront of everything we do. I like to go above and beyond for the residents, relatives and team creating a happy and loving environment for everyone to enjoy.

Job Title: Home Trainer

I have a background in care that spans 22 years, from starting off in a care home as a cleaner (to see if I thought I could do a care assistant role) to then working at the Royal Bolton Hospital in the surgical ward for a number of years. I have experience in domiciliary care and the last few years my background has been in training staff for work in a care setting. I recently came to work at Bridgewater Manor as a Team Leader on the floor that supports our residents who are in various stages of their journey with Dementia.

I am very proud to say that I am now the home trainer for Bridgewater Manor. It is such a rewarding role and New Care is a fabulous company to work for.
