The care home has welcomed Mum so much, the staff, from the reception staff to all the carers have all been lovely. They keep me informed at all times to Mam's needs and medical issues. I am so grateful to each and every one of them for the care and dedication they have given Mum. Hopefully, she will settle in and regard it as her home.

Thank you.

Reply from Tina Blake, Home Manager at Bridgewater Manor Care Home

Very good. Very comfortable, and they have everything you need. The people are very friendly. Well-informed of everything that's going on. Would like a slight improvement on the food - more options and better taste but mostly good. Thank you.

My mother-in-law went into Bridgewater Manor Care Centre in November 2023 until she passed away recently. From the very beginning, she was treated with respect and care which was second to none. The staff quickly got to know her personality and quirkiness and dealt with her with ease and care, which I'm sure wasn't always easy. The place itself is lovely, we could turn up at any time and find her well cared for in all ways. Latterly, when she became unwell, the care, concern and empathy shown was amazing. She was always clean, looked after and comfortable, whatever time of day we arrived. The staff in the dementia unit in particular are an absolute credit to the home and we can't thank them enough for everything, their care, concern and love and support were amazing. Thank you to you all.

More than pleased with Mam's care. The only way I can describe Bridgewater Manor Care Centre is fantastic. 10/10. All the staff were caring and attentive to Mam's needs. Thank you all for looking after her, she was a one-off. I thank you one and all from the bottom of my heart.

Love you all.

My father recently passed away, at age 96, at Bridgewater Manor Care Centre. He had been a resident since April 2023. I cannot adequately put into words my gratitude and admiration for all the staff who cared for him. I had intended tell highlight certain members of staff, but quite, honestly, every one of them was kind, gentle and compassionate, not only to my father but to myself and my family at a very difficult time. They were marvellous. Thank you.

Reply from Tina Blake, Home Manager at Bridgewater Manor Care Home

Thank you so much for your kind words - I know the staff will be delighted with your feedback as it was a privilege to be able to support your father during his stay at Bridgewater Manor. I know how difficult it can be for families at this time and I am so pleased we were able to provide the compassionate care and support needed for you and your family. Thank you once again.

My father was only a resident for a very short time as he sadly passed away. However, during his stay, the staff were amazing with him and treated him with the utmost respect. The home is beautiful and the rooms are lovely.

The staff are all very friendly, kind and caring. The nurses were with us at the time of dads passing and their support and kindness during such a difficult time was greatly appreciated.

My mother required “respite care” after a serious operation. From the moment I approached the Bridgewater Manor - the compassion and consideration they showed was second to none. My mum was visited in the hospital for an assessment, and arrangements were made to transfer her to the home.
She has spent four weeks at the home and has improved beyond anything I could have imagined.
The home is beautiful - but it’s a lot more than that. Without exception, every member of staff went above and beyond in their care and all their dealings with my mum. She was treated with dignity and huge respect at all times.
My mum has now returned to her own home with confidence and the ability to start living independently again - at 90 years of age - something that, as a family, we could not have imagined before her stay at the Bridgewater.

Thank you for everything, Bridgewater Manor - you have all been wonderful.

Reply from Tina Blake, Home Manager at Bridgewater Manor Care Home

When we arrived at Bridgewater Manor we were in a tricky situation as my mother had been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour and although having been discharged home, was unable to cope. The care home manager went out of her way to accommodate us, including scheduling an assessment on the first day of her holiday, in order to meet Mum's needs swiftly. Once my mother became a resident for nursing care, I cannot thank the staff enough. They were not only kind and compassionate in the care of my mother, but to us as her family too, providing many hugs and supportive conversations. The care was exemplary, the staff so, so kind and helpful. We could not have asked for more in the last few weeks of her life.

The physical environment of the home is of course outstanding. It feels like a smart hotel. However, for me, over and above were the staff who were outstanding. Highly recommend.

My mum was a resident twice in between hospital stays and came away full of praise for the staff and level of care. I found the staff and management very attentive to her needs and they helped make a fairly traumatic period return to some form of normality. I will always be very grateful to them.

Tina Job Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2022

I qualified as a general trained nurse in 1984 and have worked in multiple sectors over the years. I have always had a passion for supporting and caring for people and have grown and used my experience to progress to senior roles within the Health and Social Care Sector.

I love talking and listening to our residents and learning about their lives, and ensuring that, as a Home Manager, they receive the highest quality of care with respect and dignity.

I also enjoy supporting and nurturing all levels of staff to achieve the highest standards and their full potential whilst understanding the importance of work-life balance.

I enjoy spending time with my ever-extending family and love the outdoors, walking, hiking and walking the dog.

Charity
Charity Job Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2024

My journey in health and social care began as a Care Assistant, working in both care homes and community settings. where I developed a deep appreciation for the value of compassionate, person-centred care. That early experience laid the foundation for my journey into nursing and leadership, and it continues to guide my values and laid the foundation for everything I’ve done since.

With over 14 years of experience in the health sector, I’m a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a specialist qualification in Public Health, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Acute Medicine. These qualifications, along with the experiences, have equipped me with strong clinical knowledge, strategic awareness, and the leadership skills needed to support people with a wide range of needs.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked in various medical and surgical wards, and later as a Public Health Nurse, where I was involved in planning and strategy. I went on to become Clinical Lead at Bridgewater Manor, a role that helped me grow as a leader and gave me the opportunity to support staff development while making sure quality, safety and wellbeing stayed at the heart of our service.

Since joining Bridgewater Manor, I’ve felt truly welcomed and supported. From day one, the team’s compassion and commitment to resident care stood out. It’s rewarding to be part of a group that works so well together and puts people at the heart of everything we do.

Now, as Deputy Manager, I’m committed to creating a warm, respectful environment where residents feel safe, valued and genuinely at home. I believe in leading with empathy, professionalism and a deep passion for care. Just as importantly, I want every member of our team to feel supported and empowered to provide the very best care, every single day.

Tina
Tina Job Title:Head of Care

I started my career at Bridgewater Manor when it first opened in 2021 as a team leader. From a young age, I knew I wanted to be in the care sector. My dream was to become a combat medic in the British Army. I became a mother at the age of 16 when my first son was born. I started working at a Care home in Swinton at the age of 20, caring for residents with EMI needs. I then had a daughter and was a full-time mother. Busy life with school and nursery runs, I went to college part-time to study nursing. Sadly, with home commitments, I had to leave one year into the course. I then went on to have another daughter and 2 sons. I worked part-time for a care agency and sold Avon. At the age of 32, with the support of my family, it was now time for me to focus on my career. I went to the Manchester Army careers office and began my journey to become a Combat medic. Barb test, fitness, I was one step closer. The previous year, I had been seriously ill with sepsis, and due to my last operation being only 11 months previous, I was told I was not medically fit and told to apply again. Age was not on my side due to the age cut-off. With my dreams squashed, I wanted a new challenge. I moved to Southport with my family and ran a bed and breakfast for 18 months before moving back home to Worsley. I began my career again in home care, juggling children as a single mum. Time went on, my kids got older, and I was able to commit to longer hours. I worked nights as a team leader at a care home in Little Hulton, caring for residents living with dementia for 5 years, until I heard of a new care home opening closer to home. Excited to apply, I was offered the team leader role at Bridgewater Manor. I have loved working at Bridgewater Manor. When the role of head of care was advertised, I applied and got the role. I was thrilled with the opportunity to further my career here. Working in the care home setting for me is the most rewarding job, getting to know the residents and their families. it’s like my extended family, and that’s what I’m all about.

I joined Bridgewater Manor in January 2024 as a Wellbeing Assistant. I previously worked in Primary Education for 21 years as a Teaching Assistant and then an HLTA. This gave me time with my children during the school holidays. I decided I needed a career change as I became older and my children were getting ready to leave home. I have always enjoyed meeting new people, sports, crafts, and gardening. So when I saw the Wellbeing Assistant job advertisement, I knew I should apply for it. Working for Newcare -Now Lovett Care has helped prioritise my working and family time, which is now well balanced. Lovett Care has also given me career opportunities, from Wellbeing Assistant to Wellbeing Coordinator. I make sure all our residents have a Person-Centered, fun and positive experience here at Bridgewater Manor. I have made some great friends, who I will say are "friends for life!"
