I feel I need to express how very grateful I am with staff at Hilton House for the compassion on getting my mum ready for my daughter's/her granddaughter's wedding day. Unfortunately, my mum was unable to go, so I video called my mum and she watched her granddaughter walk down the aisle at the home.
Thank you to the staff and my mum's old carer who came to the home to help. I can not put into words how much this meant, but thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you for your lovely words. We're so glad we could help your mum share such a special moment with you all. It was our privilege to support her on the day, and I'll make sure to pass on your thanks to the team. Moments like these are why we do what we do.

My mum spent the last 6 months of her life on the nursing unit at Regency. Although going into a care home is the last thing we wanted we found the staff at Regency to be very welcoming, friendly, compassionate and caring. They do not use bank staff, so the carers got to know her and she got to know
them. She was very happy and settled there and also told me she enjoyed the food! The staff communicated very well with me and I felt involved in her care.
Reply from Nichola Birkett, Care Home Manager at Regency Care Home

Eden Manor dispels all preconceived notions of care homes. I have been very impressed with both the quality of the care and the environment. Both the public areas and the bedrooms are exceptionally well appointed - elegant and reminiscent of a boutique hotel , in fact, my father keeps referring to
it as being just like a hotel. The staff are highly attentive and caring and it didn't take long for my father to feel at home. The residents' dignity is respected and the home is very comfortable and well run - I feel very reassured.

Charlotte House is a modern, spacious and welcoming care home. All staff from the cleaners up to the management are helpful and efficient, as well as displaying a caring, gentle approach to the residents. They do what they say they will and the organisation is tremendous. My husband is a stickler for
time. He said 'they say they'll be there at a time and they are, I don't know how they do it!'. Charlotte House staff have made the difficult transition from 52 years living together much more bearable that it would otherwise have been. Thank you.

Dad was one of the first few residents at Fairfax when it opened and although there was one or two teething issues at the beginning, due to it being a new establishment, these were ironed out quickly. Dad always referred to Fairfax as a hotel and that is because, unlike some other care homes it was
beautifully kept, both inside and out. However, for us as a family, the most important criteria was care and we were not disappointed. All the staff were so lovely and caring. Dad was a Type 1 Diabetic and hence had to have the District Nurses out twice a day to administer insulin. This was not always ideal, but the staff at Fairfax were always so patient with his sometimes erratic sugar levels. They always had a smile and a joke for him.. Unfortunately, in the end Dad had to be moved to a nursing home and is now no longer with us. I know that he had not wanted to leave his home, but Fairfax was certainly a very good substitute.
Reply from Sharon Oldfield, Home Manager at Fairfax Manor Care Home

Thank you for taking time to review Fairfax Manor, it is very much appreciated. I will be delighted to share your feedback with our amazing team. We plan to open a General Nursing community very soon so that our residents who require this care do not have seek a new care provider. With grateful thanks. Sharon Oldfield, Home Manager

My stay in Fairfax Manor was excellent for two weeks of respite care. My room was superb, and the facilities in the home were brilliant. I cannot find enough words to say how kind and caring the staff were. All were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend it. My slight niggle
was the food. Having said that, the staff went out of their way to give me what I asked for. The soups were excellent.

All of the nursing care staff are kind and efficient. The cleaning staff are hard working and good humoured. Catering is a good standard. Reception and administration staff are very pleasant and efficient.
The manager is evasive, illusive and difficult to contact and avoids personal contact with residents
and relatives. In a whole year I have not met him once and I have only glimpsed him four times. He does not return phone calls when arranged. He is indeed remote.
Reply from Katie Westwick, Marketing Manager at Charlotte House Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased your comments about your experiences with our nursing, cleaning, catering, and reception teams, who work hard to deliver high standards of care. However, we were surprised and saddened by your comments about the Home Manager. While we take all concerns seriously, we must respectfully clarify that your remarks do not reflect his role accurately. He is present daily, actively engaged with residents and families, and has made numerous efforts to speak with you, even outside standard hours. Given the seriousness and inaccuracy of your claims, we have escalated this to carehome.co.uk as we believe the comments are not a fair reflection of the facts. We do understand how emotional and stressful care decisions can be and remain committed to listening and supporting families. Please don't hesitate to contact our team directly if you'd like to discuss anything further.

Mum first went to Fairfax for respite in April 2024, and then again July 2024 when it was decided that she required full time care. We looked at other care homes but none compared. I could not bear to contemplate anywhere else. The home itself with all its high spec rooms with safety features and the
wonderful caring staff I cannot fault in any way at all. The staff equally care for my Dad on his daily visits. The care is second to none and the whole place is spotless. I feel that Mum is very safe and cared for I would not hesitate to recommend Fairfax to anyone. In fact I have.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I cannot recommend the Waterside Care Home highly enough. The facilities are immaculate, thoroughly designed, incredibly welcoming. The activities and social events are another highlight and there is always something to look forward to. I am really pleased to see my sister and other residents so engaged
and happy. As a loved one, it is reassuring to know that I am kept informed and involved every step of the way. The staff are always approachable and ready to answer questions. I am truly grateful for the incredible care provided and and would wholeheartedly recommend this exceptional care home to anyone for their loved ones.
