My friend has been extremely well looked after since arriving at The Grand Care Home. His health and well being is so much better after the care he has received while there. There is a lovely caring atmosphere within the home. It is always welcoming to visitors no matter what time of arrival. Staff
extremely courteous and thoughtful and aware of different needs of individuals.

I could not be more grateful to the staff looking after my mother. They treated her with respect and cared and looked after her like she was their own. My mum was unable to communicate well due to the language barrier and effects of stroke and dementia but the staff soon got to understand her so in
the later stages of mum's life they knew what she needed and how to keep her comfortable.

If we felt mum needed something, we were able to speak to staff on duty and they would attend to her needs.

In the last days of mum's life, the nurses and carers would ensure she remained comfortable and attended to escalating matters if she needed medical attention.

On the day mum died, the family were by her bedside and we were given the space to spend those last precious moments with her. The staff on duty were so caring and attentive and treated mum with the dignity she deserved.

I would not hesitate to recommend the care home to others looking for a suitable place for their loved ones

The staff were really respectful with my grandma's religion and willing to accommodate for her for whatever she needs. Also the staff will keep us updated with what's going on with my grandma's health and any changes to be made. Thank you all.

Having gone into Ruddington Manor for 2 weeks respite care it quickly became obvious that mum was going to benefit from everything on offer. The carers are also kind and attentive. Mum has started to join in with some of the activities and has got to know the other residents. Most importantly mum feels
safe and well cared for and that is a huge relief for her family.

From the first visit, we were overwhelmed by the courtesy and friendliness of the staff. This was particularly important to us and hugely reassuring that our dear mother was in, not only a delightful environment, but also a home surrounded by love and comfort. She regularly tells us how happy she is
how wonderful the care is. That is all that we could ask for. Thanks to all of you.

My mother turned 99 years old in July and for a dementia sufferer she was in excellent health, unfortunatley after her Birthday she got a water infection and her health plummeted to the point that we all felt she was dying, but with the exceptional care and encouragement from the whole care team, she
was nursed back to health within the month. I feel Ruddington Manor Care Home is certainly a place I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a loving, caring and homely establishment for their loved one.

The staff at Ruddington Manor are very kind and welcoming whenever I visit and speak to my mum, who has a number of medical issues, including a hearing impairment, very patiently and kindly. They are encouraging her to take part in all the social activities, which are varied and numerous. The building
is new, organised and very clean, as are all the rooms I've been in. The facilities are excellent, as is the menu. I'm happy knowing Mum is well cared for.

My mum was resident at The Grand for two and half years, the care she received was consistently excellent, the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble when it came to the staff. The home allowed mum to take some personal items from home to make her room familiar ,and her
stay enriched.I would have no hesitation in recommending The Grand at the highest level to anyone.

My mum was in the care of the dedicated and professional team at The Grand from Jan 23 until July 25, and I can honestly say, the care she received was never anything less than excellent! The staff are incredibly caring and genuinely sincere in the love and support they provide for the residents. They
do their utmost to provide the highest standards of car at all times.
The accommodation is modern, pleasant and always kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. The food provided is really good and the activities team do an amazing job of providing varying activities, outings and visits from entertainers to keep the residents occupied and engaged. Management are so efficient too, always contactable and eager to help.
All in all, I couldn't have asked for a higher standard of care for my mum during her final years. A huge thank you to the wonderful team at The Grand. You are a credit to your profession, you really are!

Choosing a home for your loved one is a massive decision. My mum has been at Ruddington Manor for 16 months now, initially for respite care, but this became permanent as she settled so well. The team are fantastic and genuinely care about the residents. I have confidence they are looking after my mum
and any questions or requests I have made have been quickly assured and addressed. My mum is happy and I have peace of mind knowing she is safe. I am extremely grateful to the who team at Ruddington Manor for the excellent job they do! Thank you!

This care home is not fit for purpose the treatment my mother in law received was a joke. She was left for hours in her own mess even though we pressed the buzzer because staff came in and turned buzzer off then we are left waiting well over an hour in most cases. Her drinks was left out of reach and
also left in just her pad and pants. We had a number of issues with some members of staff and the management well that's a completely different 1 star review. After 6 months of battling everyday we finally got her out after involving adult social services and the CQC. Most 5 star reviews are buy members of staff or their sister home. This has never been a care home the manager even threatened to call the police and put a safe guard on us lol on us.. I did also comment of a another social media platform, but funny enough all positive comments was by staff the true negative comments was all deleted funny that.
Reply from Anne Mirasol, Clinical Home Manager at Ruddington Manor Care HomeThank you for taking the time to write this review. We aim to offer the highest level of care and support, and I do apologise that your experience appeared to fall short of this. The home has a fully digitalised call bell system, this records the length of time a buzzer is ringing for, and it records which member of staff switches the buzzer off. I could understand your concern if you sat with your mother in law for over an hour whilst she was in her own mess. If you had raised this at the time with me or another member of the team we would have firstly assisted your mother in law, and I would have checked the call bell report to see which member of staff had switched the buzzer off and left your mother in law unattended. Please be reassured that at no time has a member of staff from any of our homes written a review. All reviews are strictly verified by the carehome.co.uk review team who do not allow staff to write reviews. Once again, I am sorry that this was your experience, and I hope your mother in law has settled in her new home.

We reviewed the home months ago and gave a 5* to help members of staff get a cash incentive. That member of staff deserved it. Over last few months the care rapidly declined. We've had several meetings with management, some with aurthorities involve. Issues such as basic human needs not being met. Drinks
being left out of reach, falls alarms not working properly. No encouragement or prompting to eat or drink when it is in care plan. {over 6 stone weight lost} encouragement to socialise was good when mum was mobile but they would rather leave her in bed than try until we reported them. Communication between office staff is non existent to those working on the floors. Very high staff turn over. Since January we've seen several decent caring team leaders and nurses leave. The management are very click at protecting the staff rather than the residents. I could go on and on.... But best thing that happened with mum is we've got her out of there. Reply from Anne Mirasol, Clinical Home Manager at Ruddington Manor Care HomeThank you for taking the time to write this review. I am deeply sorry that your experience of the care given changed so significantly throughout the period your mum lived in the home. Unfortunately, there are times when a person’s care needs change, and the home can no longer safely meet their needs. On the rare occasion this happens we have no choice but to support the family to find an alternative home that is more specialist and that can fully support the needs of the resident. I recall you were very disappointed when I told you that this was the case with your mum and, at the time, you asked me to reconsider my decision, which unfortunately I could not due to the specific needs of your mum. Please be reassured that at no time are staff given or offered cash incentives for reviews. This is against the policy of carehome.co.uk and we are fully aware of the strict nature of the review process. The care home industry can be known for its high turnover of staff, however since January we have had one team leader leave and a nurse go on maternity leave, other than this the staff team have remained stable. Once again, I am sorry you have felt the need to leave such a negative review, and I hope your mum is settled in her new home.
