My Husband arrived at Wilmslow Manor, with a leg amputation, following an unsuccessful operation. His needs were & still are very complex & initially we were both suffering from shock. He had been diagnosed with post amputation delirium & this made it very difficult for the nursing & care staff looking
after him. To date his care has been exemplary. I too, have been shown kindness & compassion & this extends to the staff on reception also, whose warm welcome & genuine interest, make, what can sometimes be difficult visits to my Husband bearable. I can't thank them enough. The meals he is served are first class & his room is kept spotless by pleasant & again helpful staff. I highly recommend.
Reply from Darren Molyneux, Home Manager at Wilmslow Manor Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We are truly grateful for your kind words and are delighted to hear that both your husband and yourself have felt supported during what has clearly been a very challenging and emotional journey. Adjusting after a life-changing operation and coping with the effects of post-amputation delirium can be incredibly difficult, and we are pleased that our nursing and care teams have been able to provide the compassionate, person-centred care your husband deserves.
It is especially meaningful to hear that the kindness shown by our reception team, care staff, housekeeping colleagues and catering team has made a positive difference to both of you. We believe that supporting families is just as important as caring for our residents, and your comments will be shared with the entire team who will be thrilled to know their efforts have been appreciated.

As a resident & also wife of a resident I have experienced the Wilmslow Manor Care Home in many ways! Furthermore, as a retired State Registered Nurse I have very strong views of Nursing Care. All of the staff at Twyford House Care Home in Alsager, are very professional yet friendly. The care which they provide is excellent and I know my sister is in safe hands with them. The food is good, and the bedroom decorated tastefully and really lovely. Any queries are dealt with swiftly and efficiently.
The activities team ensure a varied programme and each resident is encouraged to participate. The Home also provide lovely trips out on a weekly basis. Upon arrival and departure when visiting my sister the staff always give me a lovely welcome - nothing is too much trouble for them. Outside of office hours it can be difficult to get through to the Home but the staff are busy caring for other residents and I understand they are having a new landline installed which will hopefully assist with the poor WiFi signal that the current telephone line relies on. Overall it's an an excellent care home which I'd be very happy to book myself into if the time comes that I need a care home.

A wonderful, welcoming home, really made Cliff feel he was part of the family. The staff have shown outstanding care and understanding of Cliff's general needs as well as his more demanding, demenia requirements. A brilliant open environment. A real home from home, we didn't loose a farther to a care
home, we became part of a really big family,

I feel safe and well looked after. The staff are cheerful and kind, and treat me with dignity, although sometimes they are slow to respond to a request for assistance... My room is comfortable and cleaned regularly. I particularly enjoy the food which is always tasty and plentiful and served in a pleasant
dining room. Although activities are arranged every day, I appreciate that I am not forced to join in against my wishes, but I have enjoyed some events such as the recent Fathers Day party and trips out to local beauty spots.
Reply from Jo Hassey, Home Manager at Twyford House Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you feel safe, well looked after and treated with dignity by our team. It is wonderful to know that you find your room comfortable, enjoy the food and dining experience, and have taken pleasure in some of the activities and outings, including our Father's Day celebration.
We also appreciate your comment regarding response times when requesting assistance. While our team always strives to respond promptly, there can occasionally be delays when supporting other residents. Please be assured that we continuously monitor staffing and call bell response times to ensure all residents receive timely support.
We believe it is important that residents are able to make their own choices about how they spend their day, so we are pleased that you feel able to participate in activities as and when you wish.

My Dad has been a resident at Twyford House since Dec-25. Overall we have been happy with the level of care he has received at Twyford. He seems happy and settled and the staff are always good with him. He is well fed and enjoys any trips out.
As you would expect, there are a few grumbles:
- his
room isn't always clean, particularly the floor
- he is often in dirty clothes as he does spill food regularly
- his catheter is often in a mess and hanging off his leg
- he is often in his room without the tv or radio on for entertainment
Reply from Jo Hassey, Home Manager at Twyford House Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave a review and for sharing your feedback about your father's experience at Twyford House. We are pleased to hear that he has settled well since moving in and that you are happy overall with the care he receives.
Following your comments, we have investigated the concerns raised. Your father's room is cleaned daily; however, he can drop food crumbs throughout the day, which can affect the immediate environment after cleaning has taken place. He is provided with a clothing protector at mealtimes, but despite staff support, spills can still occur.
In relation to his catheter care, we found that your father frequently adjusts his catheter and likes to roll up his trouser leg between care checks, which can sometimes result in it appearing untidy. Our team will continue to monitor and reposition this as required.
We will ensure staff assist with access to his preferred TV and Radio. Please do come and speak to us at anytime your feedback is valued

When my Mum was widowed earlier this year, we looked at a number of care homes in the area but were unhappy with a number of elements in each of these care homes. We were then recommended Wilmslow Manor by a friend who has a relative resident there. In the 8 weeks or so that my Mum has been resident,
we have only seen fantastic support and kindness. The rooms are fantastic, the staff are both brilliant and professional and we are very confident that her needs will be met whatever her condition as the years go by. It has taken a huge weight from my shoulders, knowing that my Mum is being well looked after.
Reply from Darren Molyneux, Home Manager at Wilmslow Manor Care HomeThank you so much for sharing your experience and for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review. We are truly sorry for the difficult circumstances that led to your Mum needing care, but we are delighted to hear that Wilmslow Manor has been able to offer her comfort, stability, and kindness during this transition.

Our team will be thrilled to know that their support has made a positive difference to both your Mum and your family. We take great pride in providing highquality care, maintaining beautiful living spaces, and ensuring every resident feels valued and safe. Knowing that this has lifted a weight from your shoulders means a great deal to us.

We are committed to continuing this level of care for your Mum in the years ahead, and were grateful for the trust youve placed in us.

I absolutely loved Statham Manor when I transferred my 96 year old mother there. The care is marvelous. Mummy however needed higher care than they were able to give her due to her deteriorating dementia. I have no problem with that as I understand. HOWEVER, I live in South Africa and they promised
to give me updates and keep me informed. They promised that I could send emails for them to read to her on a regular basis. All the time she was there (which was +/- a month and a half) I NEVER got any update or reply to ANY of my emails of which i have records). I learnt from her LPOA that she had been moved!!!!!! I think that is disgusting on behalf of the admin staff.
Reply from Alexandra Fairhurst, Head of Commissioning at Statham Manor Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you were happy with the care your mother received during her stay at Statham Manor and we appreciate your kind words about the team who supported her.

We are sorry to learn of your concerns regarding communication. We understand how important regular updates are, especially when family members live abroad. In this situation, we followed the guidance of the person with legal authority for your mother's care, as well as your mother's documented wishes. All decisions and communications were made in line with that authority to ensure her best interests were upheld.

We recognise how difficult it must have been not receiving the updates you expected and we regret any distress this caused. Your feedback has been shared with the appropriate team so we can review our processes and ensure clarity for families in similar circumstances.

Thank you again for your comments.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother in law had been a resident at Twyford House for five years, in that time we had some ups and downs relating to her care but nothing that wasn't addressed by the various managers of the home when the issues arose.
In early May she became unwell, it was hard to see her deteriorating before
our eyes. The staff on the unit were caring and attentive to her needs. I only had to speak to a senior, deputy or the new manager and support from the GP and District Nurses were requested.
She passed away peacefully and the staff at the home were kind and compassionate at a really difficult time.
We conducted her funeral from Twyford House, there was numerous staff outside to see her off, it was very emotional, some even came to the funeral.
We returned there for her celebration wake and more staff were in attendance. The food was excellent and everyone remembered her fondly.
We can't thank the staff at Twyford House enough for the support and care they gave to our Mum (in law) Thank you xx

It truly means a great deal to all of us at Twyford House to read your kind words about the care and compassion shown to your mother-in-law over the years. Supporting families through both the brighter moments and the more difficult times is at the very heart of what we do, and we are so grateful you felt listened to and supported whenever concerns arose.
It was a privilege to care for her at such an important time, and we hope it brings you some comfort to know she was surrounded by kindness, dignity, and respect. Your words about the team's attentiveness and compassion will mean so much to everyone involved.
Being able to be part of her farewell and to stand alongside you and your family was an honour for us all. She will always be remembered fondly by the team. With heartfelt condolences and best wishes to you and your family
