My dad came in for respite whilst my mum went for an operation. He was in for almost 4 weeks. He was made to feel he was part of one big family. The staff went above and beyond to help him and us. The asked about how mum was recovering which helped him to feel connected. He ate and slept extremely well
and all visitors including his dog were made to feel very welcome. A huge thanks to all the Grappenhall Manor.

My 80 year old mum was admitted for nursing care as she had brain cancer. As her condition changed, the whole team were so very supportive and adapted her care to ensure that my mum was very well looked after. As mum became non-verbal, the team took on the challenging situation with great empathy and
understanding. Nothing was too much trouble.
I feel very comforted to know that my mum's final time of life was that she was looked after by such a capable group of amazing people, and to me, that is priceless.

Mum was discharged from hospital via step-down care over two years ago and settled into Grappenhall Manor very quickly. From the moment she arrived, we knew we had found somewhere very special.
Rooms are beautiful and spacious, many with lovely garden views, and the whole home feels more like a five-star
boutique hotel than a care facility. Food is excellent, staff are fantastic, the carers and nurses are truly amazing.
There is a fabulous weekly activity program that residents and visiting family can join in with. The lounges are welcoming with large TVs and comfortable furnishings, creating lovely open spaces to relax and socialise.
An on site salon with a visiting hairdresser, a visiting podiatrist, regular trips out, and visitors are even welcome to bring their dogs in, which is such a thoughtful touch. The gardens are beautiful, and in the summer, activities out in the warmer weather are enjoyed.
The kindness, professionalism and genuine care of staff became our extended family.

It is so reassuring to know that Audrey is being well looked after and cared for. We really look forward to visiting; the home is so welcoming and staff are so friendly. It is an added bonus being able to take the dog to visit Audrey and this makes her day. It feels very homely when we are there.
Dad enjoys having a meal when he visits and the food is fantastic considering how many they are catering for. Thank you to everyone who works so hard.

Having someone you love very much go into a care home is such an upsetting and stressful time. But from the day my mum went into Grappenhall Manor she has been treated with respect, dignity, care and affection. Mum thinks the world of everyone and they think the world of her. I am in awe of how hard
they work, but always with a smile and speak so lovely to the residents and have fun with them too. They have been there for me and given me a shoulder to cry on and comforted me. I can't think of a better place my mum could be in, she is so happy there. I would recommend Grappenhall Manor to anyone. From the bottom of my heart, a big thank you to you all.

As a family we found the whole ordeal of having to look for nursing care for my dad very emotional and heartbreaking.
The care, empathy, support, dignity, compassion that the team gave not only to my dad but to his family was amazing
The environment was fresh, clean and so well presented.
I was
able to continue to provide personal care to dad with the staff .
The staff went above and beyond, we can't thank them enough for all they did, true credit to the whole team

My wife has been a resident of this care centre for the past 15 months. I am and continue to be impressed with all aspects concerning these premises. The building is open and airy, with good views out. The layout is ideal for the services offered. I have great respect for all the management and staff
who sometimes have to cope with tragedy and quick changes in the day-to-day running, all with sympathy and a smile. Because of all the above I am very happy to have my wife in this establishment.

My grandma has been on a D2A bed from the hospital here at Grappenhall Manor this January. I couldn't recommend this care home enough, she is thoroughly looked after and cared for by all staff. She feels very impressed by the standards here and enjoys the company of other residents during activities

I was transferred to Grappenhall Manor Care Centre following orthopaedic surgery and was admitted to the room 106 on the first floor. I am so impressed with this home, beautiful building, thoughtfully laid out, lovely furnishings and decor and large ensuite rooms. I spoke with a cross-section of staff

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.924)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.924) out of 10 for Grappenhall Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 34 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 34 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.924 for Grappenhall Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (366 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 396 Ratings = 4.924
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grappenhall Manor Care Home is based on 34 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14, which has been reached with 34 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
