I’m Charlotte Sherrocks and I have worked in the health and social care since leaving education qualifying as a registered nurse in 1996. My N.H.S. ward experience was gained in general medicine, trauma and orthopaedics. I also hold a BSc Health and Social Care degree, mentoring, management and clinical qualifications.
I left the N.H.S. and joined the private sector where I have undertaken roles including that of General Manager, Clinical Services Manage, Clinical Development Nurse and Regional Support Manager. These opportunities have given me a wealth of knowledge and vast experience in the care of older adults. My passion is to deliver high-quality standards and a person-centred, individualised approach to care.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cinema and going to the gym.
I have been working in the healthcare sector since 2002, beginning my career as a healthcare assistant. After qualifying as a nurse, I gained extensive experience in the NHS, working in surgical wards and Intensive care unit, where I developed strong clinical skills and deep understanding of patient care. For 5 years, I balanced part-time in health and social care alongside my NHHS role, allowing, me to broaden my expertise in supporting individuals with complex needs. I eventually transitioned permanently into health and social care, taking on leadership role as a unit manager. In this role, I was dedicated to in delivering high=quality standards of care and promoting a person-centred approach and management of staff ensuring compliance with best practises and regulatory requirements, continuously striving to enhance service quality and improve out comes for residents. I have a great passion for Dementia care and End of life ensuring that individual’s receive compassionate dignified and personalised support during their most vulnerable stages in life. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, shopping and participating in sports and outdoor activities.
I have worked as a well-being coordinator for a number of years and loved every second. At University I studied dance and for one of my modules, I looked at how dance can benefit people living with dementia. That was when I knew what career path I wanted to follow. I want to make sure everyone is able to have fun and look forward to what is on our wellbeing programme. Outside of work, I am a member of a dance crew where we have gone to competitions around Europe and are currently working on getting a place in Worlds in America. I also enjoy running and recently completed the Great North Run, which I'm super proud of. Grappenhall Manor is a lovely place to work and I can't wait to spend many more years here.
