Mum went to Adel Manor in August this year. From the first day, she has been met with nothing but kindness and care by everyone.
The staff are fantastic, they have organised appointments for eye care, hearing and dental needs. When asked, Mum said she would rather be in Adel Manor than at home alone.
This gives so much peace of mind for us. Asked if she had any complaints, she said "the food sometimes", otherwise, no complaints at all.

My mother was a resident at Adel Manor Care Centre from the 16th July 2024 to the 21st July 2025, the day on which she sadly passed away.
Throughout the period of her stay, we were always very pleased with the level of care she received in all aspects of the service provided.

We cannot express enough thanks for those who cared for our precious dad at Adel Manor. We were treated with kindness and compassion from our first meeting with Keegan who immediately understood our needs and most important, those of our dad. The care was exceptional and Adel Manor itself is a beautiful
place. Our dad was settled and we had confidence in all those looking after him for the short time he was there. Thank you so much for the kindness you showed us the day we lost dad, we will never forget it.

The care was outstanding from the minute my dad arrived until the day he passed. He was treated with dignity and compassion and this was extended to our whole family. The environment was superb with knowledgeable staff whose primary focus was to provide the very best care for all clients. As a family
we had no concerns and could not fault any aspect of the care my dad received, if only for a short while. We will be eternally grateful to Marsha, Keegan and the team at Adel Manor.

Our mum had to move into a care home unexpectedly and Adel Manor were the only local Care Home who could assess her and accept her within a day. How lucky we were that they had a respite bed available. She was welcomed with open arms. The facilities are like a hotel and the staff are absolutely wonderful.
She settled in really well and we were so fortunate that after two weeks they had a permanent bed available. Mum always said she didn't ever want to go into a Care Home but now she she would not choose to go home even if she was able to. She has made new friends, done alsorts of activities including holding a snake and stroking a llama and has been taken on outings despite having to be in a wheelchair. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the management are visible and responsive. At 92, our mum has had a new lease of life. Thank you so much Adel Manor, you are amazing.

Mum originally moved to Adel Manor for respite care after a difficult stay in hospital. Right from the start she was made to feel welcome and included in the Adel Manor community. She immediately felt safe and well looked after by the whole team. After a few weeks, she made the decision to make Adel
Manor her permanent home.
As a family who live 200 miles away, we know that Mum is receiving excellent care; any medical issues are quickly discussed with the local GP and swift action is taken. Mum has all her favourite paintings from home in her room and a lovely view of the garden.
We enjoy our visits to Adel Manor and always receive a warm welcome from staff who are kind and thoughtful.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Adel Manor.

After two failing placements at other care homes, my friend is now being well looked after at Adel Manor Care Centre. The physical surroundings are lovely. With well appointed bedrooms, light airy common areas and beautiful accessible gardens. Nursing and care staff are friendly and approachable, reacting
quickly to any changes in health or care needs. Management of friendly and responsive to concerns of families and friends. My friend is treated with dignity but also with warmth and humour. It's a homely and welcoming home.

I have been visiting a friend of the family at Adel Manor, and have been so impressed with the care there. It has a lovely friendly atmosphere. The staff are so caring and extremely professional. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The staff get to you know by name and visa versa. The manager's door
is very rarely closed. Both she and the management team are very approachable. The facilities are wonderful. Very clean, with good security. The food looks tasty. Plus I have enjoyed being privy to the entertainment and activities too. Overall an excellent carehome. Which I would highly recommend.

The family moved mum to Adel Manor following a very unsatisfactory period of nursing care at another care home. The manager at Adel came to assess mum along with the head of care. Immediately we felt at ease knowing mum would be looked after and made to feel welcome and more importantly safe.
We visited
Adel Manor and we were immediately struck with a feeling of warmth and care for residents. The main areas were clean, tidy and well maintained.
The manager showed care and attentiveness to all residents and in turn you could see how much they valued this.
Mum's needs were discussed at length on assessment and on arrival she was given, for the first time since her stroke, cards she could express her wants and needs without becoming frustrated. Nothing has been too much trouble at Adel Manor. From the administration to the entertainment, to the food and cleanliness, the care shown has been fantastic.

Mum moved into Adel Manor in April 2025. I cannot fault how good her care has been since she moved in. The staff and management team are excellent and nothing is too much trouble.
I'm so pleased we chose Adel Manor for mum's respite care. Because we are so impressed with the standard of care here we
are now choosing Adel Manor for her future permanent care which will commence next month.

The nursing care of my husband is very good. The staff are very approachable, myself and visitors are made very welcome. The communal areas are contemporary, comfortable, warm and inviting. The garden and path are accessible and pleasant. They respond positively to individual requests where possible.
Moving forward, I would like to see more opportunities for physical rehabilitation.

We have only praise for the manager and her team, for taking excellent care of our mother during the last few months of her life.
Staff attended to Mum's needs with kindness, sensitivity and grace. Nothing was too much for them.
Senior staff answered our questions and provided us with the support
and reassurance we needed during that time.
We are happy to recommend this care facility.

The staff at Adel Manor Care Centre have been truly amazing. Their exceptional care and kindness made Mum's last months as comfortable and pleasant as possible. They allowed us to have many comforting memories with much joy (including mum singing along with carers) and laughter (we'll not forget mum's
rosary beads going through the washing machine) in and out between the tears. They also couldn't have been more supportive to us with lots of kind words, hugs and everyone making sure we were well fed - we felt very much part of the team.
The staff took the time to get to know Mum. The huge smiles so many of them got from her when they entered the room said it all!
They've all been so friendly and welcoming to all the family and Mum's visitors.
We are so grateful to the management team for accommodating us through all of Mum's ups and downs - she was the queen of bouncing back for so long.
The support and compassion we received from all staff made a huge difference to us during a very difficult time.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.758)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.758) out of 10 for Adel Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 36 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.758 for Adel Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (362 Excellents x 5) + (45 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (9 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 426 Ratings = 4.758
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Adel Manor Care Home is based on 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 74 registered maximum number of service users is 14.8, which has been reached with 35 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I’ve worked in residential Care since I was 18 years old and never looked back, becoming a Home Manager in my early twenties in Cambridge where I became particularly interested in Dementia Care. Today I now Live in Leeds overseeing the day-to-day running of Adel Manor Care Centre. Leading and managing staff so they can perform their roles to the best of their ability, ensuring that they have the skills to care for all older people within the home, and ensuring that dignity and respect are paramount. Enabling people to live a fulfilling life whilst living at Adel Manor, empowering well-being and that all older people have a voice and a role to play out in Adel Manor. I hold a BSc in Dementia Studies. Training and mentoring people in dementia care is my speciality and my passion. I‘ve enjoyed several roles in my career, including a National Dementia Role and a Home Manager, I have been fortunate to work with inspirational professionals throughout. But my greatest pleasure and privilege remains meeting the wonderful and interesting people who’ve resided in the homes over the years. The foundation of my management style is to be open and honest; that applies at all levels from the staff team, senior management and of course, the residents around whom all our efforts should be centred. This of course extends to friends and family too, to create a holistic and relational model of care.

In my spare time, I love spending quality time with my family and relaxing. I live in Leeds with my partner and two aged Chihuahuas. I’m mum to a grown-up daughter and her little boy, our grandson Oscar, the apple of my eye who is five years old. I’m happy now to be settled in Yorkshire which is a lovely place to live with lots to discover and enjoy locally and farther afield. It’s a great place full of great people.

I have worked in a variety of settings including community pharmacies, and acute and mental health hospitals and for the last 5 years, I have supported care homes with the safe management of medication. I have a passion for improving standards of care within care home settings and have supported a variety of care homes across Leeds to develop robust procedures with a focus on medicine safety. Working in a care home is incredibly rewarding, primarily because of the residents themselves. Each day, I am inspired by their resilience, warmth, and unique personalities. Building meaningful relationships with residents and witnessing the joy and gratitude they express, even in the face of challenges, makes every moment worthwhile.

I enjoy my job a great deal as I look forward to making a lasting impact on the lives of others, whilst simulating their mind, body, and soul. If I can make just one person smile each day, then I can rest at night happy.
