I cannot find fault with Formby Manor. Everybody in the home takes time both with the residents - their families. The facilities are exceptional. It is like being in a hotel. The home is spacious. The garden areas are well maintained. The food is of a high standard & the dining rooms are like a restaurant with tablecloths and menus. Nothing is too much trouble. The residents are all treated as individuals. The care shown is genuine. The daily activities cater for all & the trips out are just another nice touch. Highly recommend. Thank you all

Formby Manor Care Home has provided exceptional care, kindness, and support for my dad and our family.
The home manager gave instant urgent support when first contacted making everything so seamless and easy.
From the moment we walked through the doors, the staff made both residents and relatives feel welcome, respected, and valued.
The care team are compassionate, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to the wellbeing of every resident. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and it is clear that they take the time to get to know each individual personally. The home itself is warm, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, creating a safe and reassuring environment.
Communication with families is excellent, and we have always felt informed and involved. The activities, social opportunities, and attention to residents' emotional wellbeing help create a real sense of community and belonging.

When you arrive at the nursing home, always say "hello"; sometimes management acknowledges you. Now I am in customer service, it takes nothing to say hello. I know people are busy, but in front of visitors, always pass the time of day. When you ask a problem, you feel as if it a inconvenience, but when being shown around. completely different. Very dissatisfied as pay a lot of money

My mum moved into Formby Manor in February 2026. She had always been adamant that she would never "go into care" and was very independent.
When it was clear that she could not manage safely at home anymore, mum thankfully made the decision that she needed residential care and I was so lucky to find Formby Manor as the solution. Mum was still very unsure and concerned about what it would be like, but the staff instantly made her feel so welcome! They were warm, reassuring and caring.
Mum has flourished and is far more socially active now than she was at home. With the encouragement of staff she decided to join in the numerous activities (including a recent day out, something that would never have happened if she had remained at home)
Mum has a lovely room, proper home cooked meals, frequent social contact throughout the day - and her mood is so much brighter than when she was at home.

She has nothing but praise for the staff - and I feel the same. Recommend 100%

My mum moved into Formby Manor mid February for end of life nursing care.
I had been advised to visit a number of other care homes in the area, which I did, and none compared to Formby Manor. I visited un-announced and from the moment I walked in I knew it was the right place for my mum. The care home itself is spotlessly clean, welcoming and the decor / surroundings are exceptional. Due to my mum's illness, her deterioration was quick but all the way through her care I was notified of every change in her condition. The nursing team and care assistants that looked after my mum did so with genuine compassion, sensitivity, kindness and respect. I really could not have asked for more at such a difficult time. The kindness to me and dignity you showed to my mum at the time she passed away will stay with me forever.

Thank you to every single member of the Formby Manor team. You are an absolute credit to your profession.

My dad moved into this care home at the beginning of January 2026. My experience of this care home from my first visit to see if it would be suitable, to date, has been first class. All the staff are warm, friendly, conscientious and have made my dad feel at home and cared for.

I never thought my dad would like living in a care home, but from day 1 he has loved it. It feels more like a hotel than a care home. Within the short time he has lived there, he seems happier, his mobility is better and he looks about 5 years younger. Thank you to all the staff for providing care second to none. I am encouraged to ask the staff if dad needs anything, nothing is too much trouble. I firmly believe that the ethos in the home comes from having brilliant managers in Nicky and Adele and which is embraced by all the staff in the care, attitude and helpfulness. A very big thank you to all!

Look carefully at care quality recommendations. Staffing levels inadequate. If staff members off sick instructions agency staff not to be employed. Food quality poor. Served often cold. Microwave in dining room if residents complain. Lower dining room residents unable to feed themselves fed by staff. Bibs placed on them. Residents wanting to return to room in wheelchairs told must wait until end of meal service no staff available to return them to room. Inadequate staff dangerously low at meal times. Residents crying out at night left unattended. No staff at times lower floor. Bells not answered.

My dad moved to Formby Manor one year ago and is happy and settled. It's a very homely environment and there is a happy, friendly atmosphere throughout the home. The facilities are of a high standard and there is a wide range of food choices to keep everyone satisfied. Lots of activities, films, outings, games to keep everyone entertained. Formby Manor is an exceptional place due to the quality of the care provided. Everyone is committed to looking after the residents, making sure they are happy. All of the staff are very supportive of each other and the residents families. The Nursing team are first class and respond very quickly to dads changing health needs. My beloved dad moved into Formby Manor not long ago. As a family we were anxious and nervous about this new chapter in his life. However, we have found that our worries and concerns were not necessary. The manager reassured us from the very beginning and talked us through the process every step of the way. Her kindness, knowledge and compassion is reflected by her staff and makes the care centre a home away from home for dad. Dad is thriving and loves living in Formby Manor and every time we visit we notice the lovely, warm atmosphere and we go home knowing that he is happy and well looked after. Thank you to all of the staff at Formby Manor Care Centre, we highly recommend them.

As an anxious daughter, choosing a care home for my mum was a difficult decision, but Formby Manor has been exceptional in guiding us through this process. From the start, the staff have been compassionate, supportive, and understanding, which has been a huge relief.

The rooms are warm and comfortable, and the private, fully en-suite bathrooms have been invaluable in allowing my mum to maintain her privacy and dignity, which was a top priority for us.

What stands out most is how the staff take the time to tailor activities to my mum's interests, ensuring she's engaged and happy. Their personal approach and attention to detail make a real difference, brightening her days and giving us peace of mind.

I truly feel that my mum is in a safe, caring environment where her well-being is a priority. The care she receives at Formby Manor has far exceeded our expectations, and I'm so grateful to know she's in such good hands.

Nikki Job Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2023

I have been working for New Care, now Lovett Care, as a Clinical Lead for some time. When an opportunity arose to become the Home manager at Formby Manor, I felt honoured to succeed the retiring Home Manager.

I have been supported not only by my residents, colleagues and relatives but also by the wider New Care community in my promotion. It is a privilege to work with a company that goes above and beyond daily, and this is right up to the senior management.

Lovett Care have the residents at the forefront of their ethos, and they always make sure their staff are supported; this is one of the many reasons I am passionate about not just Formby Manor but Lovett Care in general. I look forward to many more years working in this new role, learning from my peers and being within the Lovett Care family.

Adele
Adele Job Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2020

I have worked in the care sector for 7 years; I started my career as a Care Assistant. I have been with Lovett Care since 2020. I started my career at Formby Manor Care Centre as a Care Assistant. I loved my role as a Care Assistant and wanted to further my career with a company that I know looks after its staff. From Care Assistant, I went on to be a Team Leader in the home. I worked as a Team Leader for 10 months, and when the opportunity came to become a Head of Care, I jumped at the chance. I was in the role for 6 months and have now been promoted to Deputy Manager. I have never felt as supported by a company as I do here. The home I work for is amazing, with amazing staff and leadership, but I have found in my new role that the support is not just the staff from my own home; it is a whole company approach, and I love that.
