When we took mum in she was made to feel welcome and at home. She was well looked after with excellent meals and thoroughly enjoyed the activities making several friends.
It gave us peace of mind to know she was being cared for by people who genuinely care. She is looking forward to the next stay
Mum has settled well into her new home and this is down to the wonderful, hard working and dedicated staff, which are extremely well led by the management team. There is always a warm welcome when we visit mum and we always find mum happy and enjoying her day. Mum finds her room comfortable and enjoys her meals and snacks throughout the day. We all enjoy going downstairs to the cafe area and enjoying a drink together, in comfort and meeting other residents families. There is always a lovely ambience. Mum also enjoys sitting within the lounge area which has a lovely view of the lake. Sometimes the garden area is her choice which has comfortable seating. A settled, happy mum takes a lot of stress and worry from us as a family. We can only thank everyone at the Waterside for this.
Thank you for such a wonderful review, this bought our team so much joy to read that your mum is settled and happy. It is absolutely our pleasure to provide the comfortable and ambient atmosphere that we work so hard to upkeep. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review we will be sure to pass your kind words on to the staff.
I was very impressed with the overall atmosphere and the quality of the service provided. The resident's room was very comfortable, and had a lovely view towards the lakes. Top marks to the staff who were helpful and supportive.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such positive comments. We're pleased to hear that the home, the room and the overall service met your expectations, and that the view and environment added to your experience. Your recognition of our helpful and supportive staff is truly appreciated.
We were very grateful for the care my mum received during her last couple of months. Knowing she had round the clock care while she was in the home was very reassuring for our family.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this thoughtful feedback. We are pleased to know that the care and support your mum received provided comfort and peace of mind for your family during a difficult time. Your appreciation means a great deal to our team.
My mum recently died having spent the last 10 months of her life at Waterside St Helens. She was 3 weeks shot of her 95th birthday and her mobility was very poor - so it was not a surprise, and she chose not to be admitted to hospital. The 'end of life' care at the home was excellent. She was treated with care, compassion _ kindness from all members of the team - from nurses to cleaners - they literally couldn't do enough for her. She passed away peacefully + painlessly with family present. You staff are your greatest asset. Treat them well.
We are truly...
I have visited my friend, with another friend, on three occasions recently, at Waterside. At all times, we have been impressed and reassured by the level of care, cleanliness and sheer good natured kindness displayed by the staff. Our friend tells us about the many opportunities for various activities available and she also appreciates the freedom to choose that she experiences. Our friends life ahs been one of positivity and she has contributed to the lives of others in many ways. She is worthy of respect and gratitude for her contributions.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of visiting your friend at The Waterside. We're truly grateful for your kind words. My sister received excellent care at The Waterside Care Home from professional and friendly staff. I would highly recommend this care facility.
We truly appreciate your recommendation and are grateful you took the time to share your experience.
The care home has a five star hotel feel to it and is spotlessly clean in every department
Thank you so much for your lovely review. I will share your wonderful review with our whole team.
We can not say enough about the amazing staff they really do care and nothing is too much trouble for them .
Thank you everyone at the waterside
My friend is treated with care and compassion - staff are lovely, friendly and know the residents by first name. Reception staff are so helpful and know the visitors by name. Rooms are lovely and cosy. A few ' teething problems' with shower and care button soon resolved. The trips out are welcomed by residents and enjoyed.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of our home and our staff team I will pass on you comments to everyone.
My uncle needed a respite care home from Sept 2025 and then became a permanent resident from 1st November 2025. From Michelle's initial first home visit up to today, I cannot tell you enough just how fantastic the whole team have been. Paula the manager is always happy and answers any questions or concerns we have and resolves them immediately. Uncle Ken is fully settled in now and even after a couple of medical issues when we had to be at Waterside in the middle of the night, every single member of staff has been fantastic to us but most importantly to Uncle Ken. The activities and day trips are brilliant, the updates on social media are so regular and lovely to see all the residents having fun and happy times. I can't recommend Waterside Care home enough. Nothing is too much for anyone who works at Waterside. It's a very hard decision to move a very loved member of the family into care, but Waterside have held our hand throughout the process. Thank you for looking after Uncle Ken.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of our care home. I will share your lovely comments with all of the team.
The building is well laid out and has many communal areas and dining rooms on each floor. The residents' private rooms are furnished to a high standard and have excellent en-suite bathrooms. We were impressed by the comprehensive arrangements in place to ensure that residents were safe at all times and the extensive programme of activities provided to occupy their time.
We arranged for the Care Home manager to visit my sister at home to discuss in more detail her moving into the home as a long term resident. The meeting took place within a few days and a date was agreed for my sister to move to Waterside. This whole process took only one week and my sister is now happily settled at Waterside.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of our care home, I will share your comments with the whole team.
The staff consistently demonstrate an attentive approach to her care that goes far beyond routine duties. Every interaction, whether it's helping her with daily tasks, offering a kind word, or simply taking the time to listen, reflects a genuine commitment to her wellbeing.
What stands out most is the team's compassionate professionalism. They notice the small things, respond quickly to any concerns, and treat our mother with dignity and warmth.
The environment they create is one of comfort and trust, and knowing she is surrounded by people who truly care gives us immense peace of mind. We are deeply grateful for the team's dedication, patience, and kindness.
Thank you for your wonderful review of our home and staff team. I will pass your comments on to everyone.

I have been a registered Manager in the Independent Care Sector for over 14 years, within specialised Care Homes and within different communities. My team and I will work hard to make each day special and to deliver person-centred care and support whilst encouraging residents to maintain as much independence as possible. I am proud to be working at Lovett Care and share their values - together we can deliver meaningful experiences to residents in a beautiful environment, putting our residents at the centre of everything we do at The Waterside.

My name is Janet, and I'm the Head Housekeeper here at The Waterside Care Home.
I've worked in housekeeping for over four years across a range of settings, including care homes, hotels, hostels and apartments. I joined The Waterside six months ago and was recently promoted to Head Housekeeper – an achievement I'm really proud of.
I've absolutely loved my time here and look forward to continuing to be part of this wonderful team.

My name is Rob, and I'm the Maintenance Manager here at The Waterside Care Home.
After leaving school, I was fortunate to work alongside my father and learn many skills in the joinery and building industry. In 2012, I moved into the care sector and instantly knew I'd made the right decision – the variety within the role is something I really enjoy.
I've been at The Waterside since March, when the home was still under construction, and I've become very attached to both the building and our lovely residents.
I have one saying in life: if you enjoy what you're doing, you've never worked a day in your life.
