Rhiwlas Care Home

We feel very reassured that he is getting the care he needs and deserves.

My Dad has recently become a resident. From the initial meeting in my home we got a sense that Rhiwlas is a place where they reevaluate care about their residents. The carers have been so lovely with my Dad. He enjoys the food and although he hasn't tried all the activities yet we have been impressed by the variety.

When we arrived a lady greeted us and we chatted for a while about the home. She was so positive and her terminology for way she described the way the home was run was so lovely and made you look at home care in such a different light so refreshing. My aunt had only been there 2 weeks and I felt the staff went out of their way to make her feel wanted and looked after. What I saw of the home made me want to recommend it to anyone in the same position. It's a lovely place to start the next episode of your life.

I find the care staff caring, approachable and polite, care home has a friendly atmosphere.

The staff are always cheerful working in what must be a demanding environment and deserve the recognition for their hard work.

My initial feelings when i walked into Rhiwlas were a sense of calm warmth and most importantly care. The receptionists greeting was wonderful and managment both proffesional and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble all staff aim to please both residents and their family they are striving to bring more to the home which is clear to see.

So far, as a family, we feel that our mum is being well cared for. All of the staff are friendly, caring and helpful. Mum is always clean and tidy, which is important to her. She says the food is wonderful.

My dad has been here for 6 months. He has recieved good care, been out and about and participated in group activities. Food is great. Staff are wonderful. 10/10 in all.

Had an excellent experience with a carer who went above and beyond in a difficult situation with my mum. The carer was calm, practical and showed compassion. She demonstrated clearly that she has built up a friendship and trust with Mum. This was much appreciated. Also a mention to the home for all the recent improvements. Rhiwlas is much tidier, better presented and the improvements to the residents' activities and entertainment are massive. Mum really seems to enjoy now.

To know that my wife is being cared for with such kindness and dignity is a great comfort to me. My sincere thanks to all concerned.

We have noticed a vast improvement in the management of the care provided over the last two months. The environment has been improved dramatically and the wellbeing programme offered is varied and comprehensive. Staff appear to have a clearer vision of what is expected of them and the atmosphere is calm and happy. Carers are respectful and treat our mother with care and dignity which is vitally important to us as a family.

My father was a resident for just over 3 years. During which time he received caring, dignified support from all staff until his passing in mid-March. The care he received during his final weeks was excellent and he was cared for with such love and attention, and we as a family were well looked after too. The change in management and appointment of a wellbeing co-ordinator saw a noticeable improvement in the refurbishment of the care home and activities for residents. The care home staff were just amazing, and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you, team.

We found the home to be really nice. The staff were friendly and helpful and all knew our aunt's name. Lots of activities go on throughout the day and lots of other rooms if you don't want to join in. Our aunt seems happy and says the staff are wonderful. We were extremely happy with our visit.

My father has been in Rhiwlas 5 years with dementia. The care, attention, one-to-one and friendships made helped Dad right till the end. Dad passed yesterday. I was supported by Reshma, Sakski, Nikki, Denise, Trudy, Rahouol, to name just a few of a lovely team that have made me and my family so supported and helped in a very difficult process. Thank you.

Amazing

My uncle is very comfortable and happy in his room. It is a bright, airy room on the ground floor. The resident handyman has fixed a tv on the wall and put picture hooks up. He can go to the lounge whenever he wants. There are plenty of activities if he wants to join in. He's been out on a few trips and really enjoyed himself. He can have a haircut and foot care on request. Food is good and plentiful. Thank you to Aimee, interim Manager for all her support.

I have found all the staff to be totally dedicated to the residents, and I am continually impressed by the care and love that everyone shows. My mum is very comfortable, safe, happy and enjoying excellent food, she tells me. I don't think I could've found a better place for her, and I hope she can continue to enjoy her time at the 'hotel' as she calls it. I don't think she's far wrong either.

Every member of staff is extremely helpful and I would highly recommend this care home in every respect. The care my Mother has received is second to none. I would highly recommend this home to anyone. In fact I am 65 myself and I wouldn't have any hesitation in going here myself should the need arise

My uncle lived at Rhiwlas Care Home. The staff were amazing. They would always have a laugh and a joke with him. He was a cheeky chap and he loved a good joke. His laugh was contagious. The room was cleaned every day and the food looked and smelt lovely. They went round with a menu and he could choose what he wanted for the day. If they didn't have what he liked they would always try and get it for him. The staff worked really hard but always found time to make sure he was OK and ask if he wanted anything. He moved to go to a nursing home or he would have still been there. As a family, we highly recommend Rhiwlas.
