Dad has been here for 12 months. He has settled in and enjoys sitting in the lounge with company. He is hoisted everywhere and everyone handles him with care. He loves the 'banter' with staff and enjoys the hot showers. Every treats him with kindness even when he gets frustrated at being immobile.
Reply from Alexandra Fairhurst, Commissioning Manager at The Rhallt Care HomeThank you so much for sharing your thoughtful feedback. We're really pleased to hear that your dad has settled in well over the past 12 months and that he enjoys spending time in the lounge with others. It's wonderful to know he feels comfortable and supported.
We truly appreciate your kind words about how the team handles his mobility needs with care and dignity. The fact that he enjoys the friendly banter with staff and looks forward to his hot showers says a lot about the positive relationships he has built here. Even on the days when things feel more challenging for him, it means a great deal to know he still feels treated with kindness and patience.
Thank you again for taking the time to leave such a heartfelt review. It is greatly appreciated by everyone at the home.

Mum has been at The Rhallt for 3 years. The care she receives is excellent. She loves the staff, always smiling and happy to be around them. She has challenging behaviour which they manage extremely well. Mum is safe and cared for. The rooms are in the process of being decorated and new furniture and
we are looking forward to seeing it finished. Everyone makes us feel welcome when we visit.
Reply from Alexandra Fairhurst, Commissioning Manager at The Rhallt Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your lovely feedback. We're delighted to hear that your mum has been so well supported during her three years at The Rhallt and that she feels happy and safe with us. It's wonderful to know she enjoys spending time with the staff and that their smiles and positivity make such a difference to her day.
We truly appreciate your recognition of the team's skill in managing her more challenging moments with care and understanding. Ensuring every resident feels secure, respected, and well cared for is always our priority.
We're also pleased that you feel welcomed when you visit, and we're excited for you to see the newly decorated rooms and furniture once everything is complete.
Thank you again for your thoughtful comments-they mean a great deal to everyone here at The Rhallt.

I just want to say a massive thank you to the team at the Rhallt.
I have recently moved my father from another home due to poor care. Ingrid, Amy and the care team have provided excellent care for my father, above and beyond a generic approach, catering to very specific , personal needs and honesty
feel like a family to myself and my father. Amazing regular activities, quality meals and continuous improvements in the homes presentation, equipment and facilities. I wish this home was my first consideration.

My husband was at the Rhallt from end of February to May 14th when he unfortunately died.
He was there on palliative care and I feel the fantastic care he had made his final month's peaceful and happy, also I believe it extended his life.
The staff are the most incredible people so caring and
supportive to both of us during his time there. The dignity and respect he was given was amazing,as someone who has worked in care I appreciate a good care home.
The management are great and the whole atmosphere is calming. The food is unbelievable, a 3 course menu is posted near the door every day and lots of extras available, afternoon snacks, evening snacks with all dietary requirements catered for.
The nurses are very gentle and supportive, the carers also are very professional and caring and all love their jobs.
The housekeepers take great care with laundry etc .
They are very open and welcoming. If looking for the very best of care I would highly recommend this welcoming haven.

My mother was a resident at the Rhallt from September 2022 until October 2024. This was a difficult time in her life due to progressive dementia and an increasing inability to care for herself. In the final year of her life, she was totally dependent upon her carers for all her needs. Mum rotated through
a few wards/areas within the home but spent her final year in the nursing unit in the upstairs part of the main building. My comment is that the staff were exceptional. It is immensely difficult to care for older people who cannot communicate, are physically frail and are totally reliant on others. In all my interactions with the nursing staff, carers, cleaners, caterers and everyone else who helped my mother in her final years I was struck by their kindness, professionalism and ability to remain cheerful and positive. The home is excellent and the staff is exceptional. I have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

The Rhallt has really taken care of my nan. She is happy on her unit, and some days she recognises me more than what she previously did. All the staff are friendly and helpful. They all try to ensure any requests made are done. Nan always looks respectable and well-dressed, which she used to do herself,
so it's nice to see her being able to still do. Activities always offer for her to join with the things she loved doing before coming here. Overall, very lovely home.

My mother has been admitted to the Rhallt Care Home my relief is immense. Everyone from management to care and support staff are incredible. The home is clean and the room is bright and airy. The atmosphere in the home is happy, calm and professional. Even though we never wanted her to go into a home.

Our beloved grandmother has entered The Rhallt Care Home in her 99th year. She has settled in so well, thanks to the diligence and care shown to her by staff and the seamless admission process which management guided us through. The home is cosy, clean and comfortable. Even when many of her extensive
family have questions, staff patiently talk us through every step and when many visitors are present, we are still made to feel welcome. What was a very difficult decision to utilise a care home has been eased by the kindness shown to us, as a family, and I would recommend The Rhallt to anyone in our difficult situation. I particularly appreciate the fact that we have been encouraged to personalise her room, this has brought my grandmother a greater degree of comfort.

My grandmother came to the home from hospital needing nursing care. As a family, we could not be more pleased with what The Rhallt Care Home had to offer. The move-in was seamless and extremely efficient. We were greeted with a friendly staff team who really made my grandmother, who is anxious, feel
immediately at ease with their caring and empathetic approach. The presentation of the home and cleanliness really stood out and put our minds at ease as this is her first time in a residential home.
Communication with the home and management has been fantastic and we can't thank them enough for their help and support.
I can't speak highly enough of the professionalism shown and would not hesitate in recommending the home to others and working in the care industry myself, as an auditor, this is the highest praise I can bestow.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.834)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.834) out of 10 for The Rhallt Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.975 for The Rhallt Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (197 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 202 Ratings = 4.975
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.859 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Rhallt Care Home is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 91 registered maximum number of service users is 18.2. 17 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.2 = 0.934
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
