My Mum has recently gone into Cheadle Manor Care Home on a permanent basis. She has dementia and things got to much for my Dad to cope so the difficult decision was made by the family as being the best option. I have been blown away by the level of care my Mum has received so far. The staff are truly outstanding and have really helped my Mum settle in. They have also helped my Dad with the transition which he has obviously found very difficult. I cannot praise this care home enough. It's wonderful!

Cheadle Manor has done wonders for my mum. She has made friends and tries things that she wouldn't do for us. All the staff are brilliant with her and she has settled really well. All the family are eternally grateful.

As an almost daily visitor I have found there to be a consistently high standard of cleanliness throughout the home. The core staff are very friendly towards and respectful of my mother, often taking a few minutes to chat to her as they go about their daily tasks. There is a liveliness and openeness about Cheadle Manor which family and friends are immediately struck by. My mother feels safe, valued as an individual and, if she has any questions or concerns, she is confident that they will be answered or addressed.

Lovely airy, modern, purpose built accommodation in attractive surroundings. There is a friendly and positive vibe to the place with lots of smiles from residents and staff.

The staff are very caring, but I do feel that there is a need for more staff on the ground floor at busy times of the day as there used to be.

The team are genuinely kind, patient, and nothing ever feels like too much trouble. The team are so welcoming, which gives the home a lovely atmosphere, making it feel like a home from home. They offer great activity program and always welcome family to join in too. The team put to so much effort in to offer a variety of activities. The food is an excellent standard and it's lovely that family can join meal time too.

My husband has been a resident on 24 hour nursing care for over 12 months and in that time has received excellent care which has enabled him to fight against his many health issues and defy his expected prognosis of 6 months. Whilst he is now deteriorating he has exceeded expectations and is still being positive because he has been enabled to do so.

The well-being team and management team have also been very supportive to me and enabled me to spend however long I want to with him and regularly check on MY wellbeing.

All in all I am very happy with my husbands treatment and care.

My Mum moved into Cheadle Manor around 3 months ago following an acute deterioration in her condition. She was confused and distressed. From the moment we arrived to look round I was impressed. I have a healthcare background and know not just to look at fixtures and fittings but to look at how the staff interact with the residents.
The staff here know their residents. They are kind, caring and compassionate. They have cared not just for Mum but for us as we have been on this difficult journey. Mum has suffered great loss and they have helped her and us through it with compassion and care.

All of the staff the cleaners, the chef, the maintenance man, the carers, the well being team , the Manager - everyone - are welcoming, polite, professional in their approach. We have been made to feel like this is Mums home, and she is a priority.

I visit a resident in Cheadle Manor and am always offered a welcome from the staff whilst operating the good check in/out system at reception. Car parking as is usual in such places is always tricky. The friend I visit is reasonably happy and seems well looked after. My late wife being disabled (MS for many years) I've seen a good many care homes and consider Cheadle Manor as one of the best.

Our mum stayed at Cheadle Manor Care Home to receive Palliative Care under the NHS Continuing Healthcare scheme following discharge from hospital. She had Stage 4 Cancer. Everything about the Care Home was an absolute delight. Her initial instinct was that she would have preferred to be at her own home but she soon settled thanks to the caring, kind and respectful staff who made sure that she was as comfortable as she could be during her stay. She has sadly gone now but one of her final words to me was to say thank you for helping to get her the place at Cheadle Manor.

It's a very difficult process when looking for a care home for your loved ones. You consider the physical and emotional care that is needed, how they might develop connections with the team looking after them and the activities that are offered. Cheadle Manor and the team working there surpassed my expectations. My Grandmother is very well cared for, each individual has taken the time to get to know her and nothing is too much trouble. Her room is lovely and the communal areas are very welcoming.

My husband was a resident for just over a year with several hospital admissions during that time. Last October, he was given end-of-life care at Cheadle Manor with people caring for him who had become like an extended family. They were attuned to all his needs including banter and 'funnies' they exchanged, which had become a major part of his life there over the past year and they always made me feel welcome and part of Cheadle Manor life too.

Helen
Helen Job Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2022

I am very proud to have worked in a community care setting for over 13 years. I started my career as a Care Support Worker, which gave me the experience and confidence I needed to fulfil my life's ambition to train as a registered nurse. For many years, I enjoyed working as a nurse in the community, building relationships with patients and their families. I always strived to provide high-quality and personalised care to encourage independence for all patients. I started my journey at Bramhall Manor as Deputy Manager and have progressed to Home Manager. I have recently moved to Cheadle Manor, and I feel privileged to be part of such a hardworking team that provides very high standards of care while maintaining residents' dignity and independence. In my own time, I am a busy mum of 3, enjoying quality family time and also enjoying socialising with friends.

Theophilus
Theophilus Job Title:Clinical LeadJoined: 2021

As a seasoned Registered Nurse with a robust background in Adult Nursing, I currently serve as Clinical Lead at Cheadle Manor, where I champion person-centred care and clinical excellence. My journey into healthcare was inspired by personal experiences supporting patients through illness - moments that deepened my appreciation for empathy, dignity, and the power of human connection during times of vulnerability.

With a strong commitment to enhancing quality of life and promoting independence, I take pride in building meaningful relationships with those I support. I find fulfilment in creating everyday moments of comfort, trust, and joy, and I am especially passionate about end-of-life care, where I strive to uphold the highest standards of compassion and respect.

Career highlights include mentoring new staff, training student nurses, serving as the tissue viability champion within the home, and receiving heartfelt recognition from residents and families for delivering life-changing care. These experiences have strengthened my leadership skills and reinforced my belief in the transformative impact of holistic, thoughtful nursing.

Outside of my professional role, I enjoy playing the piano - a creative outlet that helps me recharge and reflect. A guiding philosophy in my practice comes from Leo Buscaglia: “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word… all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” This quote continues to shape my approach to care and reminds me of the profound influence of kindness in nursing.

Hannah
Hannah Job Title:Head of CareJoined: 2023

I started working for New Care in 2023 as a team leader. From the second I walked through the doors at Cheadle Manor, I was greeted warmly and could see the outstanding levels of care throughout the home, which elevated my passion for caring. Throughout my 18 months, I have always been supported by New Care, our management team and all aspects of teams throughout the home. We are always encouraged to bring new ideas and to develop our skills. I have recently been given the amazing opportunity to step up as head of care, and I am enjoying learning and developing within my new role. I aspire to continue high levels of care and to use my new role to inspire and ensure the continued success of our team and the well-being of our residents and their families.

Gary
Gary Job Title:Head Chef

I’ve been a chef/manager for over 40 years with experience in various environments from hotels, restaurants, food-led pubs, private hospitals, and now care homes, and I was the owner of a popular café in Stalybridge for over 10 years, which was probably the highlight of my working life. I got into Healthcare about 8 years ago and wanted to do something that would be interesting and different to what I had done before. I really enjoy the chance to mingle and chat with residents on a daily basis.to get to know them and hopefully make a positive influence on their daily life, and to feel that what we produce for them is appreciated by the people we look after.

Outside of work, I like to travel and have been lucky to see so many amazing places around Europe - the Christmas markets are a particular favourite.

I also follow Man City - although more of an armchair supporter now and watch a lot of Futsal around the country. I love my music with 80s a particular favourite, and Classical music something I have gotten into over last few years.

Rachel
Rachel Job Title:Head of Hospitality

Rachel is a valued member of our team here at Cheadle Manor. Like everyone at Lovett Care, they're committed to helping us create a caring community where everyone can thrive. Their role contributes to the warm, person-centred approach that sits at the heart of everything we do.
