Everything about the care home is perfect. The staff can't do any more to make my mum and dad happy in there. The food is excellent, all the activities are really good. Nothing seems like it is too much trouble for the staff from the moment you walk through the door.

Staff treated residents as individuals and were kind and attentive. They encouraged participation in activities but respects the wishes of the resident. Not only were the staff warm and welcoming to the residents, they were with visitors too. The management team were accessible and supportive, especially
when care needs changed and we really appreciated this. Thank you.

My friend has been here since June 2024. She was initially a little apprehensive after living in her own home for over 69 years. However, all the staff have made her feel very welcome. Her room is lovely, clean, bright and comfortable. There is a lovely atmosphere here. Lots of activities to join in
with. Excellent trips out for residents. Meals are catered for every taste. Such a pleasure to visit. Carers are very professional, experienced, kind and show compassionate for all residents. They treat all with dignity and respect. All members of staff work as a good team and support each other well. Well being assistant have time to spend with residents and make everyday enjoyable and fun. An excellent place for my friend to call home. Thank you

I have been visiting an elderly friend for several months. Cheadle Manor Care Centre is a very pleasant environment, like a nice hotel! I have always found the staff to be friendly and attentive. My friend is very well cared for. There are regular activities on offer for residents. A special mention
to a lady on reception, who has been able to answer my questions and update me on my friend's well being. I would recommend Cheadle Manor for anyone looking for care needs for loved ones.

The care Mum received was truly wonderful. Not only from the nurses and carers but from all the staff.
They ensured Mum never suffered during her final weeks and treated her with respect, love and compassion.
The staff made me, my sister and her family most welcome. They explained all of Mum's care
to each of us and always contacted us when Mum started to deteriorate.
When Mum passed, a team of nurses and carers came in and prayed with us.
Everyone at Cheadle Manor Care Centre was wonderful and we are forever grateful to them.

My Grandma has resided in Cheadle Manor since its opening and I have therefore had the privilege of meeting many staff over the years. One, in particular, I would like to ensure receives the praise she deserves - Since meeting her, her personality is infectious. Her passion for her job role is instantly
apparent and she has a natural ability to make not only residents within the home but their loved ones, feel like family. I have watched her care for my Grandma with the same enthusiasm, dedication and person-centred approach for many years and will never be able to thank her enough for all she has done. I got married in March and she made it possible not only for my Grandma to attend but went above and beyond to make it as special as possible. I wish the review word capacity would allow me to specify all she did but all I can say is it was more perfect than I could have imagined and thanks to her effortless, kind and thoughtful nature I now have those memories forever.

We cannot praise enough the care and support given to both our mum and family by the staff at Cheadle Manor. Mum was very happy during her time there. Staff were kind and patient, always welcomed with a smile and staff were always available to listen to concerns and support as necessary. Rooms were
bright and clean and Mum loved the various activities and outings she participated in. We thoroughly recommend Cheadle Manor and are grateful for the time Mum spent there.

On recently retiring I was looking to undertake some voluntary work in a caring capacity. When I had the opportunity to volunteer at Cheadle Manor I jumped at the chance. I felt the ethos of the home is what I believe in which is to celebrate the wonder of people and for them to achieve their full potential
whatever their circumstances and I feel privileged to now be a part of the professional caring wellbeing team at Cheadle Manor. As a keen gardener, I enjoy helping out in the Cheadle Manor garden with other keen volunteers to create a beautiful therapeutic place for residents and for them to be included in the gardening activities. Whilst I’m there a simple chat and cuppa with the residents is always a joy. A friendly face and a listening ear are all that are required to make a difference to someone’s day. I have made some lovely friends with residents their families and staff who I feel go above and beyond in making a real community feel within the home.

Being a regular volunteer along with my wife at Cheadle Manor has been so rewarding. I have always enjoyed gardening and believe it can be very therapeutic for any age and ability and can provide a holistic place to relax in. The residents are so eager to join in with making plans to turn their garden
spaces into interesting and beautiful colourful areas to sit and watch the birds feed etc. and a place to enjoy a chat with family friends and staff.
The Cheadle Manor wellbeing team are passionate about including residents in all decisions about their home and keeping the community feel. I often chat with residents about their own gardens they had and the ideas they now have here at Cheadle Manor.
The overall experience of being a volunteer at Cheadle Manor is making new friends with residents, families and staff and bringing together everyone’s capabilities and experiences forging a happy caring community for all.
Reply from Helen Hartley, Home Manager at Cheadle Manor Care HomeThank you for giving up your time and expertise in making our garden a beautiful and welcoming space for our residents. The carers provided an excellent service to my mum who was in the home due to advanced dementia. The care that my mum, dad and I received when she was at end of life was outstanding. They were caring, compassionate and went above and beyond expectations. We were kept informed at every stage and my mum's
welfare was at the heart of everything they did. We cannot thank them enough.

I’m very impressed with the care shown to my mother. The care staff listen and acts on any requests made for updates, as well as keeping us informed promptly of any upward, or downward, swings in Mum's health and emotional state.
The Wellbeing team ensure every resident is included in activities if
they so wish, and go that extra mile getting to know individuals to celebrate and remember special moments for them.

I go to Cheadle Manor at least twice a week to visit my mum, who has been there since July this year.
My mum wasn't able to return home where she had lived independently following a stroke. Although she would still prefer to be in her own home and suffers from bouts of depression, one thing my mum
and I both agree on is that all the staff are caring and support and motivate her on a daily basis.
I am kept informed of my mum's physical and mental health, and they are aware of her triggers and foibles. Her room is kept clean, and her clothing is cleaned regularly, which is important for her to be able to maintain her dignity.
The majority of the staff on my mum's floor are amazing, particularly as they have had to endure low staffing levels lately but have made sure that the effect on the residents has been kept to a minimum.
I hope that staffing levels will be increased soon as the residents are entitled to and pay for the type of care that the staff want to give them.
Reply from Rowena Bolton, Manager at Cheadle Manor Care HomeThank you for taking the time to write this review. I am happy to hear you and your mum feel the staff are caring and supportive; I will pass your comments on to the team. I have noted your comment regarding staffing levels and am very sorry that you feel this is the case. Please be assured the home is fully staffed, and all our team members are employed directly by New Care, we do not use any agency staff. On occasion, due to short-notice sickness, the home can appear to have fewer staff. On such occasions, care staff are offered extra shifts and the ancillary team, who are all fully trained in the delivery of care assist residents. If you would like to discuss the staffing model or anything else, please do not hesitate to speak to me.

My aunt has been at Cheadle Manor for 18 months. She has settled well and is much happier in the home than she was living alone. She is occupied daily by the staff and in particular the well being team, who spend time with the residents, encouraging them to participate in the activities available to
them. Communication between staff and family members could be improved on.
Reply from Rowena Bolton, Manager at Cheadle Manor Care HomeThank you for your review, I am pleased your aunt is settled in the home. Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.943)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.943) out of 10 for Cheadle Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 37 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.943 for Cheadle Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (418 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 439 Ratings = 4.943
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cheadle Manor Care Home is based on 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 68 registered maximum number of service users is 13.6, which has been reached with 37 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I am very proud to have worked in a community care setting for over 13 years. I started my career as a Care Support Worker which gave me the experience and confidence I needed to fulfil my life's ambition to train as a registered nurse. For many years I enjoyed working as a nurse in the community building relationships with patients and their families. I always strived to provide high-quality and personalised care to encourage independence for all patients. I started my journey at Bramhall Manor as Deputy Manager and have progressed to Home Manager and have recently moved to Cheadle Manor and I feel privileged to be part of such a hardworking team that provides very high standards of care while maintaining residents' dignity and independence. In my own time, I am a busy mum of 3 enjoying quality family time and also enjoy socialising with friends.

Driven by a deep passion for patient well-being, I am a Registered Nurse committed to delivering high-quality and holistic care. My 7 years of experience in general nursing have instilled in me a strong foundation in providing skilled and compassionate care. I hold a Bachelor of science in Nursing from Valley View University in Ghana. I have experience in medical and surgical nursing, mental health nursing, pediatric nursing, public health nursing, and obstetric and gynecological nursing. I have really enjoyed working in emergency and intensive care units. I was employed by Newcare as a Registered Nurse in November 2021. With the great support and guidance from fellow colleagues, I merged into the team successfully. I worked as a Registered Nurse for 3 years. During these years, I attended trainings and seminars to stay up to date with current best practices, I worked closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure well-being of residents, I managed difficult situations exhibiting professionalism and empathy, and also built strong relationships with the residents and their families. I started working as a Clinical Lead in October 2024 after a successful interview as I knew I had the skills and qualities to manage and lead my team effectively. In this role, I work directly with the Home Manager to provide exceptional experience for all residents, their families, and friends. I find working at Cheadle Manor exciting and rewarding. Alongside work, I enjoy playing my piano, reading books and being there for the residents.

Throughout my 18 months I have always been supported by New Care, our management team and all aspects of teams throughout the home. We are always encouraged to bring new ideas and to develop our skills. I have recently been given the amazing opportunity the step up as head of care and I am enjoying learning and developing within my new role. I aspire to continue high levels of care and to use my new role to inspire and ensure the continued success of our team and the wellbeing of our residents and their families'.

I have worked at Cheadle Manor since it opened its doors in December 2021. I'm so proud to work with a team of people who truly care. We work in someone's home, and we do our best to ensure they're comfortable, happy and definitely have some fun along the way! I love to be able to make a difference, think outside the box and create memories that will last a lifetime for all.
