The care and dedication given to the residents of Blakeland's lodge is second to none.
My Uncle has been a resident for almost a year and i feel that the staff and management always go above and beyond.
They have really helped with the passing of my uncle's partner, who unfortunately passed away just after moving into the home.
the team are really friendly and always helpful ensuring that my uncles' needs are met.

I would highly recommend, leaps and bounds above most other homes that i have visited, more like a country hotel rather than a care establishment.

Mum thoroughly enjoyed her respite stay at Blakelands and found the amenities and activities to be very enjoyable whilst making some new friends with full time residents. She was also impressed with the friendly and professional staff at Blakelands. My wife and I were able to relax and enjoy our holiday safe in the knowledge that Mum was in safe hands and being looked after.

Our mother moved into Blakelands Lodge Care Home at the end of February. The brochure and staff describe it as a lifestyle home our mother calls it home. Visiting her over the weekend she remarked the staff are so kind and if I need anything I just push the bell.

The home is simply elegant and gorgeous, the staff team are wonderful, I have witnessed displays of compassion and kindness also humour and laughter. The management lead by example and are often assisting residents not hidden away. Mums enjoyed a range of activities and shows.

We couldn't be more grateful for the support, level of service and care we have received from Blakelands. We first got in touch in about May 2025 when it became apparent that Mum might need to transition to a care home. We were instantly impressed and reassured that Blakelands would be the perfect environment for Mum and 'partner' for us to ensure she was cared for in a modern, well-equipped, safe, clean, friendly and professional environment. Mum moved in in July 2025 and Blakelands have exceeded our high expectations. My brother and I immediately benefited from clear, available and reliable two way communications regarding Mum's health and transition to her new environment. We have benefited from the team's friendly support to us as well as Mum. We are extremely happy in the knowledge that Mum is very well supported by a well trained and kind caring team. There is a comprehensive range of activities and services on hand. I have no reservation in highly recommending the whole team.

Mum has been resident at Blakelands since it became clear it was no longer safe for her to stay at home on her own. All the staff at Blakelands have been wonderful - caring, helpful and endlessly patient. Hayley and Emilia were particularly helpful during the admissions process and for the first few stressful months as we were all getting used to Mum moving from being self sufficient to being cared for.
Blakelands is a lovely home; modern, bright and very well maintained. The caring staff are so supportive and imaginative with their care. Mum has different activities to keep her ammused and entertained every day and even, when the weather permits, the chance to visit the local park and shops under safe supervision.

Blakelands was recommended to us by a friend with detailed knowledge of care homes in the area and I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending it to others. It has to be a personal choice in the end, but Blakelands is absolutely well worth consideration.

I visited many carehomes on behalf of my Dad, who has dementia, as he was no longer safe alone at his house. As he was initially reluctant to go into care, I really needed to make the right decision for him. As soon as I entered Blakelands Lodge I was made to feel very welcome and knew that my Dad would love the bright, airy and spacious rooms and the lovely friendly and genuinely caring staff. He initially stayed for 4 weeks respite care, after which he decided to stay permanently. I'm so pleased that he made this decision as he now feels at home here, no longer lonely at home alone and being looked after with such kindness, care and attention. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff and they really welcome family and friends when visiting. In my opinion, Blakelands Lodge stands out from all the others I visited due to the staff being genuinely happy and caring in their roles, which reflects in the happy residents! A huge Thank You to everyone.

My aunt has been a resident of Blakelands Lodge for several months now. I am very impressed by the standard of care shown by the staff at this care home. My aunt is naturally a rather shy withdrawn person, and has Alzheimer's. She previously lived in a flat in a retirement building and had limited contact with other people, but at Blakelands Lodge she is encouraged to take part in many activities, has been on trips out and has made new friends. The high level of care she receives now has enriched her life.
Staff at this care home are always willing to do that little bit extra to make the residents' lives better. They keep us as relatives well informed, through phone calls, emails and regular reviews.

I honestly believe that my aunt's move to Blakelands has been thoroughly beneficial to her and has enriched her life, and also has benefitted me, as a person also getting on in years, and given me and my family peace of mind, knowing my aunt is safe, well cared for, and happy.

My elderly aunt lived in a flat in a retirement complex until May this year. However she needed more help with her daily needs, and Blakelands Lodge was recommended. After visiting Blakelands with my aunt, it was clear from then, that this was the place for her. The management and staff couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming, and from the moment my aunt stayed for a 4 week trial, she agreed, this was her next home.
There are twice daily activities for all residents, and the staff at Blakelands go out of their way to include and encourage residents to take part in these activities. They include outside visits to forest centres, garden centres, etc. The staff are excellent in everything they do, and I feel reassured that my aunt is in a safe environment. The staff also give support to all us relatives in the same caring way.
I've been for meals with my aunt, and the food is excellent. The care home is bright and cheerful with so much going on all the time.

Thanks Blakelands.

After reviewing numerous Care Homes for my mother who has dementia, I settled with Blakelands because it was so fresh, bright and the residents look content. The staff smiled and were chatty during our visits.
Eight months on and it was the best decision as Mum is happy, content & no longer lonely sitting at home.

The first few weeks Mum found it difficult to settle but the staff we fantastic with her and so caring that she soon settled & found a routine that suited her. Mum loves the company of other residents & also the activities that happen each morning & afternoon, together with the summer walks & visits to the local garden centre.

Thank you to all the staff at Blakelands for the loving care you are giving my mum. I am also incredibly grateful for the way you organised her wonderful 90th birthday celebrations and for the beautiful bouquet of flowers you gave her.
My mum always said she would never go into a care home, but after a visit for respite she decided to stay and she is so happy with you all. I live abroad so knowing she is safe, well cared for, and surrounded by kindness means the world to me.

Blakelands truly ticks all the boxes. Every time I come to visit it feels like seeing extended family. I cannot thank you enough.

We looked at a number of Residential homes for mum and were so pleased that we chose Blakelands. Staff amazing, helpful and caring. Facilities second to none. Mum was difficult when we first had to take her but the staff helped to settle her in and she had a wonderful time. She enjoyed the quiz and going out to the pub, as well as the animals and reptiles that were brought in. She enjoyed wine with her Dinner and made new friends. Cannot praise Blakelands high enough. Ultimate reference is that I have told my kids that when I need to go into a Residential Care Home I want to go here.

Mum put on weight and started using her walker during her 'holiday' (respite care) at Blakelands Lodge. My mother needed further support after a second in succession spell in hospital following a fall and ongoing health issues.
Due to other family illnesses, I was unable to guarantee I could respond to middle-of-the-night calls from her emergency alarm and so looked at a variety of care homes.

Blakelands Lodge was, by far, the favourite with its open and airy surroundings, and fantastic facilities - as well as staff who made her feel at home.
