Llys Herbert is a new purpose-built luxury care home in Cardiff. The dedicated team provides personalised residential, respite and dementia care for up to 75 older people.

Each bedroom has its own en-suite wet room and is individually decorated and beautifully furnished. The home features all the ingredients for a superb lifestyle under one roof, including a bar, hair and beauty salon, cinema and coffee shop. Outside, the lovely landscaped gardens offer a variety of seating areas, accessible pathways and raised planters – perfect for keen gardeners.

The team learn all about your loved one's personality, life story and interests so they can tailor all aspects of their care – from activities to menus – to suit their needs and wishes.

My wife has been a resident at Llys Herbert since early December 2023, and we have nothing but the highest praise for the care she’s receiving. She has a comfortably furnished room with excellent en-suite facilities.
The residents’ lounge has been thoughtfully designed, and the dining room is a pleasure
to eat in. I joined her and the other residents on Christmas Day, and we were treated to a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable meal, beautifully prepared and served. It was her birthday a few weeks later, and the chef baked a superb cake, especially for her. We were joined by close family members who made the day.
Moving into a care home is a big step, and any apprehension we may have had was soon allayed after experiencing the very caring manner in which the staff look after residents. Llys Herbert is a care home where the staff really do care, and it shows.

Completely exceeds expectations. Llys Herbert has given my mother-in-law a new lease on life. She is happier and healthier. I haven’t seen her smile so much in years (and she has a beautiful smile).

Excellent care and support from a lovely team, who are all very friendly and kind. The food is really good. Mum has been here a month now and is very happy and enjoys all the activities. It’s so lovely to see her enjoying life again.

I needed short-term respite care for my father before Christmas. I feel very lucky to have found LLys Herbert. The home is beautiful, more like a five-star luxury hotel than a care home. The staff are excellent, happy and upbeat and most importantly, kind and caring. Nothing is too much trouble for
them. Visitors are made very welcome and encouraged to use the beautiful lounge areas, with refreshments on tap. There is a cinema and hair salon. The food is excellent and well-presented. I cannot recommend highly enough for your loved ones.

What a wonderful experience we had on Christmas Day, the staff really went above and beyond to ensure Mum had a good day.
The food at Llys Herbert is very good and is a big part of the experience here.

Our father was at Llys Herbert for the last months of his life. We were hugely impressed both by the home itself and especially the care and kindness that the staff gave Dad. Without exception, everyone showed him the kind of consideration that we hoped we could find, giving us great comfort and reassurance
when we could not be around. The staff went out of their way to find out about the person Dad was and had been, his interests and achievements, helping him to adjust to what must have seemed a big change in his life. We were particularly grateful for the way that the staff afforded Dad the dignity and respect he deserved at the end of his life. In our family's experience, Llys Herbert provides a very welcoming, comfortable and safe environment for residents and visitors with a variety of stimulating activities and excellent food.

Mum (92) stayed for respite care in September 2023.
Llys Herbert is an amazing care home with beautifully appointed rooms and a range of facilities that provide comfort and a real touch of luxury. Without exception, the staff were friendly, caring and totally committed to making Mum feel welcome,
safe and at home. They also went the extra mile to make family members feel welcome. Can't thank everyone enough!

My aunt moved into Llys Herbert when it was brand new. The facilities are excellent, with lovely rooms and common areas.
But the absolute best thing is the staff - they have been wonderful. Caring and responsive.
Within a week of moving in my aunt (who is 100, and elected to move in here without
any prompting, having been living independently in her own home until she moved in) announced that she was here for good! That says it all.

Mum (95) moved into this beautiful, modern and caring home a couple of weeks ago following a stay in hospital after a fall. We as a family cannot praise enough the welcome and care she is receiving. They are having the official opening on 5th October and my wife and I are looking forward to going along.
If you are looking for care for a loved one go along to the opening day and see for yourselves. Well done to all the team at Llys Herbert.

Wow where do I start, the manager is so kind-hearted, easy to talk to, she was simply amazing then you got my friend so lively, always smiling and made me feel welcome, I met a few of the team too, there was a girl in a pink uniform quite shy but she still had a chat with me, there was a lady in a green
uniform full of energy she came over and really politely asked if we would like a drink and a cake, we chatted for a bit and the whole time we were just laughing I think she had brown hair not sure my eyesight isn’t the best, then we met a lovely handsome man in pink uniform I wanted to take him home. This care home thinks about everyone and the staff there are very accommodating, nothing is too much trouble for them. When we were walking around there was it’s if singing and laughter, keep up the grand job.

Delighted to have found Llys Herbert. This is a stunning new care home with superb facilities and amazing attention to detail in all aspects of the home and for its residents.
The team has been amazing from the very first enquiry to the incredibly warm welcome extended to my father on arrival and
all of the individual attention to help him settle in.

My father is one of the first few to take up residency at this newly built home, the first Care UK home (so I understand) to be owned and managed by the company in Wales.
From the moment we went to view the home, without any prior notice on our part, we have been welcomed and helped enormously by
the whole team.
All rooms are identical in size. My father has been fortunate to choose both position and decor of which there is a good choice.
To date, the food has been varied, beautifully cooked and presented and catering to my father’s needs as his appetite has diminished.
The staff have been wonderfully supportive, friendly, enthusiastic and willing. I cannot thank them all enough for all the kindness and consideration they have shown to him. If the standards continue at the present level, which I have no reason to doubt they will, it is going to be a wonderful home.

Suzanne Tullet

Job Title: Home Manager

Having previously led the team at Winchcombe Place, I’m excited and feel privileged to lead a new team and ensure that everyone’s supported, working together and managing a team I’m proud of.


I started my working career after studying a Pharmacology degree, which led me to working in a community pharmacy and after hearing all the wonderful things about Care UK, I wanted to try something new in my career, so I joined Care UK.


Previously at Care UK, I was Deputy Manager at Winchcombe Place and have taken part in the Future Home Manager Program to help me develop my skills and understanding of a home to be a successful home manager. Within my role, I believe you need to be knowledgeable on a wide range of key areas, responsible, approachable, efficient and understanding, which has helped me develop a successful team.


Outside of work, I love to dance, and previously I’ve been featured on television in a dance competition.
