My mum has mixed dementia and needed full-time care after her husband and carer died suddenly over two years ago. We were very fortunate to find Beulah Vista, initially on a trial basis, as Mum was reluctant to move into care. From the start, she has been looked after by attentive, kind, and genuinely
caring staff, even when her dementia symptoms have been challenging.
Mum's care was meant to be funded by the sale of her home, but delays caused significant financial stress. When her funds reached the council threshold, Beulah Vista worked closely with us and the Council to secure funding so her care could continue, for which we are extremely grateful.
The care, dignity, and compassion Mum receives are exceptional. Communication is excellent, which is vital as I live some distance away. Knowing she is safe, comfortable, and treated with kindness gives us great peace of mind. We would wholeheartedly recommend Beulah Vista.
Reply from Gemma Weldon, Registered Manager at Beulah Vista Care HomeThank you Zoe. Mum has been with us a long time now and we are pleased that we have been able to continue to provide her care. Many of or residents initially come for a trial/respite and decide to stay themselves which is very rewarding and speaks volumes. It was lovely to see mum settle so quickly.
There are times that residents are unable to express themselves when living with dementia so having a regular team helps us to understand. I am pleased that you know mum is safe and treated with kindness.

I would wish these surroundings and kind staff for myself f I ever find myself in my sister's situation. There is always some quality entertainment going on when I visit and we regularly receive some lovely updates and messages showing my sister enjoying time with the other residents. The staff are
attentive and kind and the accommodation is both attractive and super comfortable. There are some lovely spaces where my sister can be with others or ,if she chooses, can be quiet and relax on her own for a while.
Reply from Gemma Weldon, Registered Manager at Beulah Vista Care HomeI am pleased to read that your visits to your sister enjoyable and that you like to receive pictures and updates of your sister too. Being comfortable and having a space to relax are important for all our residents. Please join us again for another mini bus trip :)

Beulah Vista Care Home is truly outstanding. My friend, for whom I hold Power of Attorney, was one of the first residents at Beulah Vista. As her needs changed, she would ordinarily have been moved to a different floor, but the staff went out of their way to keep her in the room she knew and felt comfortable
in, ensuring she was not unsettled in any way.
The individual care given to each resident is great, and it is amazing how every member of staff genuinely understands each person's needs, personalities, and even their funny little habits. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the team, they consistently go above and beyond. The nurses are incredibly caring, professional, and attentive, always providing reassurance and support.
Communication is excellent. I have been visiting for several years now, and everyone has made my time there very easy. I would highly recommend.
Reply from Gemma Weldon, Registered Manager at Beulah Vista Care HomeThank you Virginia for a lovely review. Familiarity and consistency really are vital, especially for those living with dementia. Even when needs change, we try to adapt the best we can to ensure that our residents are needs are met. Having nursing staff 24/7 means that we can provide nursing care as and when it is needed.
We love to see you visiting your friend as her face lights up and that makes our day :)

Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2020 and after caring for her at home for 5 years she moved in to Beulah Vista in April 2025, we have been consistently really happy, mum settled in really well and the staff have been amazing in understanding her very particular needs and embracing her gregarious
personality.
A friend mum met previously at the dementia choir had moved in few months before her so it was an ideal situation where she had a friend down the corridor she already knew. Our mum is very active and loves taking part in all of the art and singing activities and especially loves the outings in the mini bus. Because she is so active we decided to take out an annuity which covers her care for the rest of her life and gives us peace of mind knowing she will be settled with no unexpected upheavals. It's always a pleasure visiting her and her grandkids happily join me and we all enjoy visits to the cinema with mum.
Reply from Gemma Weldon, Registered Manager at Beulah Vista Care HomeThank you so much for sharing your mum's story, mum settled quicker than we thought. It's lovely to know the team have taken the time to understand mum's needs and truly embrace her gregarious personality. Having a regular team helps us to deliver the person centred care that all our residents need.
Mum and her friend make us all laugh and its so lovely that they have each other. We're also so pleased mum enjoying the art, singing, outings on the minibus, and all the activities that keep her so active.
It's wonderful to hear that visiting feels like a pleasure and that her grandchildren enjoy coming along too, especially for cinema trips together. Thank you for trusting us with your mum's care, it really means a lot to the whole team.

I originally met Gemma, the Home Manager a few years ago and after visiting numerous care homes, I immediately felt reassured that Beulah Vista would be the right place for mum. It is beautifully maintained, with lovely gardens and she has a delightful room. Placing her in a care home was an incredibly
difficult decision however the staff and management have been outstanding, not only in the care they provide, but in the kindness, reassurance and support they have shown to both dad and I and with us living close by we are able to visit mum almost every day. In September, my parents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Beulah Vista, it was a wonderful day, everyone at the home made us feel welcome which meant the world to us. The team have helped arrange the right level of care, medical support, and dietary needs, and we receive regular updates which give us great peace of mind. The staff truly feel like family and I cannot thank them enough for everything they do.
Reply from Gemma Weldon, Registered Manager at Beulah Vista Care HomeI remember meeting you for the first time and it is lovely to read that you felt reassured from the get go. We know how difficult it was to move mum to a care home so feeling we were the right home when you live so close was great. 60 years of marriage is a wonderful celebration and it everyone felt the love that day- we thank you for allowing us to be a part of their day.
The team enjoy your visits and we are so pleased we offer you peace of mind.

My mother has been at Beulah vista care home for over 3 years and has loved it. The loving staff and continuous stimulation has really helped her grow in her confidence and she is so content. My mum being a of Pakistani heritage feels the home has understood her needs such as her dietary needs and
celebrating Eid - allowing her friends and relatives to to come and celebrate.
We have also been very grateful that when there have been financial changes with my mums Financial situation they have been very supportive and accommodating. I can't imagine my mother being any place else.

Reply from Gemma Weldon, Registered Manager at Beulah Vista Care HomeThank you so much for mum's experience with us over the past three years. We're so pleased to hear how happy and content she is, and that the care and stimulation provided by our team have helped build her confidence. Mum tells us how happy she is and we love that she comes to our offices to ask for help when she needs it.
It means a great deal to us that mum feels understood and respected, particularly in relation to her cultural background, dietary needs, and the celebration of Eid with family and friends. It is vital that these needs are met and are central to our values here at Beulah Vista.
We wouldn't have mum be at any place but here with us :)

My mum has been living with dementia at Beulah Vista for a year. The staff support her to have choice and control over what she chooses to do and positively support her to engage in gardening activities which she has always loved - both in the garden and at the allotment. The care home are always welcoming
when we visit, including to our dog!
Reply from Gemma Weldon, Registered Manager at Beulah Vista Care HomeWe're delighted to hear that mum has felt supported to maintain choice and control, and that she's been able to continue enjoying gardening- both here in our garden and at the allotment (We need to get through winter quickly). It's especially meaningful for us to help people stay connected to activities they've always loved.
We're also pleased to know that you and your dog feel welcome when visiting, this is very important to us. Thank you again for your kind words and continued trust in Beulah Vista

My Mum has been living at Beulah Vista for a year. It was a difficult decision to move her as she's young (70s) very sociable and independent. But growing concerns about her safety pushed us to make the move.
Beulah vista has been such a blessing to us both. She is genuinely happy to be there, she
eats well, goes on regular trips on the minibus, loves the entertainment, I've walked in to find her in the middle of a room belting out a tune alongside a piano player having an absolute ball!
For me- as her daughter, not only is it a huge relief knowing that my mum is happy, safe and well looked after, I now look forward to seeing her more, knowing we can sit and relax with a cuppa rather than rushing around worrying about cleaning, food etc. The staff feel like friends, I can voicenote them anytime of day about anything and always hear back. My young sons can't wait to visit their Nana and play with the toys in the family room, it really is a home from home. Thank you for everything.
Reply from Gemma Weldon, Registered Manager at Beulah Vista Care HomeThanks you for such lovely words. We are so pleased that mum is happy living at Beulah Vista, she brightens our days with her humour and caring ways. It is great that the family lounge brings enjoyable visits and that your sons can't wait to visit. Having small people regularly in the home helps Beulah Vista to feel homely and bring smiles to our residents so thank you.

My Dad moved into Beulah Vista in January 2025, and although a very hard decision, the genuine warmth from the team has been remarkable. The staff create a calm, safe environment, and I see every day how patient and attentive they are with him. They notice small things, understand his needs, and treat
him with dignity and kindness. The consistency of the team has made a huge difference; he's had the same familiar faces throughout the year, and that continuity and stability have been so important for his wellbeing. The varied activities and outings are fantastic, and he's joined in with things I never expected - bowling, singing and community trips. He is truly thriving, and it's lovely to see him laughing and enjoying life.
I'm also grateful for the support extended to me. When I've been worried or overwhelmed, they always notice and offer compassion and kindness. Communication and leadership is clear and thoughtful, and it feels like a real partnership, with my Dad's needs at the centre.
Reply from Gemma Weldon, Registered Manager at Beulah Vista Care HomeWe love to see dad laughing too- he has the best smile and this makes us smile. It is great to read that having a consistent team of nurses and carers offers dad stability. Beulah Vista has been life changing for my mum and in turn for all the family. We viewed many Carehomes in south east London and this one trumped them all.
My mum has very complex needs and is also wheelchair bound.
The care she has received at Beulah Vista far out reaches the awful situation she
was in when living in her previous home-her own home.
She is now safe, has continuous care, a good varied diet, treats, entertainment and activities of all kinds. The communal spaces allowed for all to be involved and part of the community. To be involved as much or as little as they want to be.
It's a warm and welcoming home, generous size rooms & well decorated.
Staff listen and act with kindness and consideration.
On the basis of all the above we also recently moved my mum's cousin (my 2nd cousin) from Surrey so they can be together. Reuniting them after 18 months apart due to their combined complex needs, was a very moving and emotional day. They are so happy to be together again.
Reply from Gemma Weldon, Registered Manager at Beulah Vista Care HomeReading this made me smile- It really is lovely to see them together again. It is lovely that you feel reassured both your loved ones are being cared for and that they are safe. Thank you for letting us care for them both.

My mother spent 5 weeks in respite at Beulah Vista, whilst my dad had a break. My mum has Parkinson's, so has unpredictable walking issues, and can be highly confused. I chose this care home as I know Gemma to be an excellent care home manager and someone I absolutely trust to take care of my mum.
Even though the location was a bit far from us I wanted my mum to experience very good care so if we had to move her permanently somewhere she would know what standards to accept. My mum sang, painted, exercised and joined in with activities she never gets to do at home. It was great to see her having an active social life too. She enjoyed being looked after. My brother also visited my mum at the care home and was very happy with how she was getting on. I would thoroughly recommend Beulah Vista based on my mum's experience there.
Reply from Gemma Weldon, Registered Manager at Beulah Vista Care HomeWe are so pleased that mum enjoyed her stay with us at Beulah Vista- she was a pleasure to care for and it was so lovely watching her engage in activities. The care home environment does encourage residents to participate in things that they usually wouldn't when they are at home. My dad has been a resident for over 2 years. The staff have allowed him independence and a great quality of life, he is allowed to go out for walks or to the shops with another resident using an tracking device (for safety) this really has given him his freedom and he enjoys life.
My dad also really
enjoys trips on the minibus to all sorts of activities, bowling, museums, allotment, lunches to name a few. Beulah Vista are amazing and care very much for the residents. This gives my sister and I huge confidence knowing he is happy.

My sister and brother-in-law were both very much in need of rehabilitation and care after both having serious operations. They spent several weeks at Beulah Vista, which feels more like a luxury hotel than a traditional care home, and was exactly the respite and rehabilitation that they needed. The
very professional care, attention and support that they received from the wonderful team of staff was absolutely second to none. We are eternally grateful to all at Beulah Vista, and can very highly recommend the services and professional care that they provide.

We looked at several care homes for Mum and in addition, I have seen three others where a friend has been a resident. Without doubt, Beulah Vista Care Home is the best I have seen and we feel confident that Mum is receiving excellent care there. Beulah Vista feels like a hotel rather than a care home
and the staff are very motivated to provide high quality care. Mum always said she never wanted to go into a care home and when the time came it was very difficult because although we knew it was in her best interests, it was hard to go against her wishes. But we needn't have worried because within two weeks, she had settled and Beulah Vista had become her new home. I believe the speed of the transformation is testament to the high quality of the care she has received. If only all care homes could be like this.

My friend was admitted on a temporary basis, as her husband was ill. She had dementia and significant complicated medical conditions. She settled in very well from the start.
The staff were kind, thoughtful and attentive and I was very impressed with the trained nursing staff who knew her and adjusted
times of her meals and medication if her sleep pattern was disturbed.
As a frequent visitor, I will never forget the patience and kindness exhibited by the carers and support staff if a resident was being tiresome and difficult.
My friend's husband died most unexpectedly, the staff, from top management down, were full of empathy and kindness.
The food is absolutely excellent and a generous variety at all mealtimes. There are many activities, I attended some with her.
She died a few days ago. She recieved very good end-of-life care which was very important to me, as I am a nurse and was a palliative care nurse latterly. I would recommend this care home to everybody.

My mother was a resident at Beulah Vista Care Home for the four months up to her death in January 2025.
She had been for respite care at other care homes in the past but none came anywhere near the quality of Beulah Vista.
The environment is, of course, lovely and the building a very high quality
however the most significant contributor to her happiness was the incredible staff.
The staff were so kind to the residents and helped and engaged whenever possible.
On my frequent visits, my mother would often comment about how nice everyone was and what a great place it was.
The activities were also fantastic, she particularly liked the opera singer who came in to do a show tunes concert every few weeks/months.
She couldn't have been in a nicer environment to spend the last months of her life.

Review from Colin P (Son of Resident) published on 4 November 2024 Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I cannot speak highly enough of Beulah Vista Care Home, the facilities and most importantly, the staff. From the very first telephone conversation, I was confident that this was the right place for Mum.
The facility feels like a small boutique hotel, it is a new building that is clean and comfortable.
The
food is excellent and residents have quite the selection to choose from.
But what makes Beulah Vista stand out is the management team, the carers and the support staff. At all times I have felt confident that every member of staff that my mum comes in contact with is 100% committed to her well-being and her feeling safe and at home. It is a great relief to know that she is so well taken care of.
Reply from Lindsay Massey, Marketing Manager at Beulah Vista Care HomeThank you for such a positive review, it is always a pleasure to hear that all the staff are as committed as each other and are trained to be. Mum's room and floor do have one of the best views in London. We look forward to seeing you soon and welcoming the family all here for Christmas.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.956)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.956) out of 10 for Beulah Vista Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.956 for Beulah Vista Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (309 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 320 Ratings = 4.956
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beulah Vista Care Home is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

I have been working in the care industry for the past 15 years and have worked in many roles in both Nursing Homes and within the Community. I qualified as an RGN in 2013 and completed my studies at Kingston University. Dementia care has always been a keen passion of mine so after qualifying as a nurse, I went on to study additional modules at Worcester University specifically in dementia care.

In my previous role, I was the registered Home Manager for three years at a 51 bedded Nursing Home which I thoroughly enjoyed. I was previously the Deputy Manager of a 70 bedded, commissioning Nursing Home in Carshalton near Sutton, and here is where I developed a passion for commissioning. I feel privileged to be opening Beulah Vista and have enjoyed all the challenges a new home faces. Being here from the beginning gives me the best opportunity to lead by example and support the team to implement person-centered care for our residents.

I have also worked as an Admiral Nurse based in Sutton Social Services for 18 months. An Admiral Nurse is a specialist dementia nurse who gives expert advice and support to families caring for a loved one living with dementia. This role not only enabled me to help families through difficult times, but it allowed me to deliver training to other Health Care professionals enhancing their knowledge of dementia.

I know that the key to excellent care is strong communication and believe that you are only as good as your team. I have seen how the needs of people have changed and how the demand for nursing and dementia care has increased over the years. I am determined to be a part of the positive change for the future of care.

I am a Mental Health Nurse and qualified in 2016 at Greenwich University. I have previously worked as a Forensic Nurse but for the most part of my nursing, I have worked in Dementia care. No two days are the same in a Care Home, so we are always learning something new. I take great pleasure in caring for people living with Dementia, including the frail and elderly and feel this is what I was born to do.

I have previously worked as a Clinical Lead/ Deputy Manager in another Care Home before coming to Beulah Vista. It has been an exciting experience coming to work as a commissioning Deputy Manager and I look forward to developing and supporting team members, to give the best possible care to our residents.

My role consists of being part of the leadership team supporting the Home Manager by ensuring a smooth running of the care home.

I have many years of experience working in the care sector supporting older people, young people and children. I have personal care experience as was the main carer for my dad and have loved being a carer ever since. I find it to be very rewarding to work in the care industry gaining experience and obtaining a Level 5 in Health and Social Care. Before I worked in care, I was a Deputy Finance Assistant for a children's centre and have several years of experience as an administrator.

I love supporting the team at Beulah Vista and have an open-door policy. I look forward to supporting new team members and our residents.

Job Title: Marketing and Resident Wellbeing Manager Joined: 2023

My Name is Lindsay Massey, and I am the Marketing & Resident Wellbeing Manager here at Beulah Vista. My role here is to raise awareness of our home within the community, inviting when safe to do so, local schools, churches, and groups into our home. To liaise with family members who wish to place their loved ones in our care, to ensure that it is a safe, smooth, and caring transition and as stress-free as it can be.

I worked for Legal & General for 27 years before deciding I needed to work in a job that made a difference. I have been working in care almost continuously for the last 18 years. I have done many jobs from reception, HR, Resident Accounts, Dining, Activities and Marketing. The latter two are my favourites.

I am a people person and like to think that I can help families with difficult decisions and help the residents to enjoy as many different activities as they can and embrace being in care rather than being frightened of it.
The out-of-work Lindsay lives with her husband Stuart, my mother and rescue dog Bosco. Both of my boys have moved out to live with their girlfriends, but we still see each other a lot as they are local and they all play golf (I try!), I like cooking, travelling, reading, walking, Pilates, socialising with friends and recently I have taken up cold water swimming!
