My Mum had an accident and acquired a bad brain injury which meant she was very challenging. I chose Blythe Rose as they were one of very few Care Homes who actually listened to me. My Mum has been a resident on the challenging behavioural unit since February. Momna, Serena, Lorraine, Jo and Emily have all been amazing, as have the other carers looking after Mum 24/7. I live a distance away but everything they have done, and communicated and tried for Mum has reassured me. An extra special shout out goes to Emily, the activities co-ordinator who juggles so much but takes time out to connect with every resident and their family. The home is truly blessed to have such a caring and compassionate individual. I get photos of Mum from most activities which is challenging because she often struggles. The home is beautiful, welcoming and a great place to be. I'm really grateful to everyone. Thank-you.

My grandmother has been here for almost a week and I could not be happier with the care she has received since. As soon as she walked in she was made to feel included. Due to her alzheimer's, she often asks about "where is the baby?", and Sammy ensured she had a baby doll to look after and keep her calm. I am so happy with the support and communication we have received from Sammy, and can confidently conclude that my nana is getting the care she needs. xxx

My mom came into the care home last week and we were worried if she'd settle but has been lovely to see such calm, helpful staff - encouraging mom singing and dancing, as it's what she likes to do and play the piano. Was great to receive a video early on from staff showing mom singing at the piano. It has really helped us, thanks.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Sammy for making what could have been a very emotional and stressful transition such a positive experience. From the very beginning, Sammy was incredibly supportive, compassionate, and professional, guiding us through every step of transferring my Nan into care.
The home itself is absolutely beautiful, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that immediately put our minds at ease. Every member of staff has been kind, caring, and attentive, and it is clear that the residents' wellbeing is their top priority.
Knowing that my Nan is receiving such excellent care has given our whole family great comfort and reassurance. We couldn't be happier with the decision, and we feel confident that she is in the best possible hands.

Thank you again to Sammy and the entire team for making this transition so smooth and for providing such a wonderful environment for my Nan. We are truly grateful.

Blythe Rose Care Home is a friendly welcoming place. Entry is secure but visitors can visit at any time of day and feel valued and part of the caring process. Visiting can be in the entrance hall or guest rooms or the resident's own room which are spacious and attractive.

Management are visible and they and staff greet anyone they meet, visitors or residents, often by name. Any issues are quickly dealt with. A thorough assessment is made of residents before accepting them and every effort is made to satisfy those needs. If you need to use a home for a relative then I would recommend Blythe Rose.

A very nice and homely care facility. The facilities are lovely and the manager called on the day that my mother was received. The staff team are very nice and the rooms are pleasant. There have been a few issues and concerns:
The room has crash mats everywhere for safety yet I find myself wiping these down regularly due to food/blood/even faeces on them.

The blinds/curtains had been pulled down by my mother and the plaster from the walls is till on the floor weeks later & no replacements arranged.

My father has been at Blythe since Sept 2025, after having been in a previous care setting. He was not settled for the few months prior to the move, however staff and management at Blythe from day 1 took the time to ensure the transition went well.
It seems at Blythe that my father's health and happiness in his final stage of life has been top priority. Due to his Alzheimer's, my father can be difficult and lacks awareness, often very resistant to help with personal care needs, however with patience and understanding the staff have got to know him and secured strategies that work best to manage his condition.
Staff at Blythe are always welcoming to family, and seem to fully understand the stress and worry family feel when placing their loved ones in care. The home is clean and tidy and the resident's dignity is maintained in bedrooms and around the home in public areas.

Food is of a good standard and staff will always seek to find a meal my father will enjoy. Highly recommended.

We came across BR Care Home by chance as my father, suffering from Alzheimers and Vascular Dementia had been asked to leave his previous home. Filled with nervousness, we moved Dad to BR. We need not have worried at all, in fact for the entire time that Dad has lived in and been cared for here (Now nearly 2 years) he has received excellent care and we could not be happier. I do not live nearby and therefore, my need to trust that all is well with Dad is extremly important and to this end, my dad's carers keep me up to date with any developments with my Dad's behaviour, moods and his general day to day well being and I am so grateful for this added care that is given to me and the family.

Whilst my Dad's behaviour can be challenging a fair amount of the time, on visiting him, I am welcomed warmly and get to enjoy meals with Dad, in a quiet room to one side of the other residents if needed and am greeted with staff members across the board whose professionalism is excellent.

On the whole, the experience when visiting was an expected. My mother-in-law has dementia which affects her memory (mostly short term) mood and behavior which is why she is housed in the section for people with challenging behavior. To that end it did not surprise me that other residents were of a similar disposition. The carers appeared to be alert and engaged. Although I felt in some instances a little stand offish when situations escalated which could be why on occassion minor scrapes and injuries are sustained by residents. Feeding and type of food gave me most cause for concern. Despite most of the residents being elderly, the food offered was not what they would've been used to and consequently there was significant waste.

My biggest issue is with the food as I don't believe what is served is appropriate for the residents as my mom for instance only likes British traditional food such as sausage & mash, roast dinners, cottage pie etc. I believe also that not enough activities are done outside as my mom loves to walk outside but is very rarely taken out.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care that my mother received during her stay at Blythe Rose. The dedication, professionalism & genuine compassion of all staff made a significant difference in her quality of life.
From the moment she arrived it was evident that the team were committed to understanding her unique needs and ensuring her comfort. They treated her with dignity and respect, established meaningful connection that fostered a sense of belonging. The individualised approach to her care, combined with warm and nurturing environment allowed her to feel safe and valued.

Mum spent 8 months at Blythe' Rose and we were extremely happy with the care that she received. The staff clearly knew how to handle her challenging form of dementia and we could sleep easy at night knowing that she was properly cared for when we could no longer manage her at home.
