My husband is receiving excellent care. The staff keep me informed of my husbands condition at all times. The staff on the Burcot Lodge work extremely hard to keep everyone cared for and happy - including visiting family. I cannot praise them enough for the loving they give.

Reception is very welcoming + loved the new dog station which my dog used. My dad has now been moved to the 1st floor from 2nd which is much better as more space. Dad was comfortable + his main carer was welcoming and chatted to us to give us an update on how he had been. Dad was facing the window which he enjoys + his new chair is better as more support. Floor was wet on arrival by Dad but he had thrown his drink but it was been cleaned up. Very warm, would be good to have some windows open as it was a warm day outside

Care home under staffed. Lot of agency staff who don't seem overly caring. Full time staff overworked but are brilliant with the residents. Activities for residents are not tailored to individual as 'sold' on enquiring about the home, which is disappointing. However, the home is a lovely environment, food is plentiful and seems good quality. Reception, admin and home manager friendly and pleased to help/

My Mom has been a resident at Blythe Rose since June 2024. I am eternally grateful for the care and support that all of the staff members provide to Mom, the other residents, our family and friends. As a healthcare professional myself I have high expectations of good care. In my opinion Blythe Rose Care Home exceeds this, their care is exceptional. They promote a quality of life no matter how difficult the circumstances are. The Home has demonstrated that dementia doesn't define you. They strive to provide personalised care that is resident centered. Since being a resident at Blythe my Moms personality has flourished. She is so happy and content. The communication from the home is excellent they have always kept me well informed. The multi-professional team caring for my Mom are incredible. Thank you for helping our family throughout this journey. It has not gone unnoticed and we really do appreciate it.

My father was a resident from January 2024 until he passed away in October 2024. Dad settled well and was happy here. During the last week of his life, myself and several family members stayed with dad. The care and compassion showed to dad and us as a family was exceptional. The manager and the whole team respected our wishes and couldn't have done more. It is a comfort to know that dad was so well cared for in the final months of his life.

Review from Gail D (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 29 October 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My father-in-law never had the opportunity to experience a long-term stay at Blythe Rose Specialist Dementia Care Home as he transferred from a previous home in North Birmingham where his health had rapidly deteriorated with regards to his vascular dementia and Alzheimer's condition. Had he been a resident at Blythe Rose from the outset, I am convinced he would have lasted much longer.
The manager and his team are exceptional. The home itself is absolutely fabulous, spacious, tastefully decorated in soothing, calm colours. Plenty of room to wander safely. Great outdoor space and not at all like you would imagine a nursing home.

More importantly, is the level of care they offer and their commitment to ensuring all their residents are treated with dignity, kindness and loving support. The team of carers and nurses who cared for my father-in-law up to his passing were phenomenal. Their compassion and kindness, their communication and sensitivity to the situation with us, as the family, were quite incredible.

My father arrived at Blythe Rose from the hospital in 2023. I can not express how amazing Blythe Rose has been. The settling-in process was extremely well executed, and my dad settled very quickly. The activities have been fun and variable, and the food is excellent. The care the staff show to both its residents and my mother has been far and away the most impressive feature of the home. They have looked after Dad well and also Mum with kindness, sensitivity and respect. I really appreciate all they do and honestly can not think of anywhere being better for both Dad and Mum.

I have found Blythe Rose Care Home to be the perfect home from home for my mother, who has had some weeks of respite care there. The staff have been professional, empathetic, caring and compassionate, observing regularly and meeting Mum’s needs well with regard to her medication and interests.
While she has been there, the communication between the care home and myself has been exceptional, nothing has been too much trouble and the staff make it a priority to get to know Mum well, as well as my sister and I.

Knowing the level of care has been so good, it has made the possible decision in the future to make this a more permanent arrangement less daunting, where I feel the relationship with Mum has now returned to being mother and daughters rather than mother and carers.

I am really impressed with the professionalism and wrap around care and support provided by the team at Blythe Rose. All the staff team from reception, administrative support, homemakers, lodge leaders, nursing, operational and management show a very warm and responsive approach to their residents and their families.
I live outside the UK but am keen to support my sister and keep in touch with her as much as is possible at this stage of her illness. I have appreciated the many ways in which Blythe Rose has facilitated this. Examples of this would be the meetings for relatives hosted on the web, a regular newsletter and postings on social media that capture special moments of activities/outings for residents.
I have also received great help in having one to one chats with my sister and in sending her newsletters from family overseas.

I believe that the Blythe Rose team provide outstanding care in the meeting the needs of people living with dementia.

This is Dad’s second care home and having had a poor experience previously, it was such a relief to find a ‘home from home’ place. Staff are caring, respectful and so very patient with him.
