Lesley has worked with the company since 2021 as manager of their flagship home in Edinburgh and has now transferred to join the team at Woodlands.
As a qualified nurse, Lesley’s main clinical background is in the Intensive Care Unit at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and latterly as a Specialist Peritoneal Dialysis nurse. Having had amazing grandparents, Lesley always knew she wanted to work with the older generation and is passionate about ensuring they lead fulfilling and meaningful lives during their golden years.
As a leader, Lesley’s main focus is staff development and progression; she is a great believer in further education to ensure residents and families receive high standards of care and support. She adopts a supportive approach and fully embraces, working in partnership with residents and their families.
Wisdom brings a wealth of experience from working as a Registered Nurse in Accident and Emergency. Joining Woodlands as a nurse, he was promoted to Unit Lead and then Deputy Manager. While highly skilled, his patience and kindness are prevalent in his daily practice. Whether dressed as an elf or helping out in the bar at our weekly party, he constantly brings out smiles in so many.
Prashna is a hard-working, caring and dedicated member of our team and is our Clinical Lead, overseeing our nursing and senior team. We are very proud to announce Prashna has won the very prestigious company award of Nurse of the Year 2025 for Scotland. Warm and caring, Prashna will always go above and beyond for all and is a real asset to our team.
Regina worked in Intensive Care as a Registered Nurse in Nepal before moving to Scotland. Coming from a long line of nurses, who all specialised in the care of the elderly, it was a natural progression for her to follow suit. As Unit Lead, Rojiina always has a positive and smiley outlook and will always go above and beyond for those she supports and their families.
Beth supports the nursing team and has undertaken additional training in the form of the SVQ3 qualification. Being a hands-on person, Beth leads her team by example and is a great role model and mentor for the younger members of our team. Beth is also our trainer and assessor for Moving and Assisting and holds regular classes to ensure all our staff remain up to date with their training.
Amaka joined Woodlands as a care assistant and has recently undertaken and passed with flying colours the SCQF7 qualification in Oral Care. Amaka will now be responsible for overseeing and training new recruits in the importance of oral health assessments and also in the auditing of services. Amaka is always smiling and positive, and whether walking to work or working at Woodlands, she is always singing, which brings so much happiness to the day...
Margaret has come to Woodlands with many years of administration experience in care homes. Margaret is of particular support to those moving into Woodlands and their families.
Liesa joined the team with a wealth of frontline experience and always provides a warm welcome to those visiting Woodlands. Liesa's area of focus is supporting new residents and their families, step by step, throughout the whole moving-in process. Lisa's warm approach ensures the whole family are supported from the initial enquiry, right through to the day of moving in and after.
Catriona has joined the team as Wellbeing Lead, bringing 4 years of experience in this speciality. Catriona works closely with residents, their families and regulatory frameworks, to ensure our programme is full of meaningful activities, events and outings. Residents having roles within the home and being actively engaged in the running of the home, is important to Catriona and resident focus groups are now up and running. Residents are now involved in the interview process, helping a reception, delivering newspapers and post and befriending new residents moving into the home.
Leigha has worked in the fitness industry for over 11 years. Interviewed and chosen by our residents, she is now a valued member of our team. Leigha devises personalised fitness programmes to ensure resident's objectives are achieved and works closely with community physiotherapists. Our daily classes are now a firm favourite and Leigha with her "can do" has motivated so many.
Alison has been a Registered Foot Health Practitioner for the past 4 years and has 15 years experience as a Registered Nurse. Alison knows all the residents so well and reviews each resident on a 6 week rotation, supporting them with their footcare health. Footcare is an essential for Woodlands residents to ensure they remain as mobile as possible, which is vital for general health and wellbeing. Always smiling and with her positive approach, Alison as forged lovely working relationships with residents and their families.
John joined Woodlands as a Kitchen Assistant a few years ago, but soon developed an interest in nutrition and cooking. Encouraged and mentored by our Head Chef, Gregor, John is now studying for his NVQ5 Chef qualification and thoroughly enjoying his new role. Progression and investing in our teams are a very important part of the Woodlands values.
Steve has come to us with a wealth of experience in all aspects of maintenance and has worked in care homes since 2017.
Since joining the team, Gordon has taken on additional training to ensure our garden is accessible for all residents and their families. Gordon supports residents to grow their own vegetables and herbs in the garden and encourages them to be active in our Garden Club, planning the garden and buying plants. If not in the garden, Gordon loves taking residents out and about in Aberdeen. Always with a smile on his face, he is ever too much trouble.
Mandy is of invaluable support to residents and their families and oversees the running of our cafe'. Mandy is always welcoming and makes any new residents feel right at home.
Oreo also visits often and residents love to give him a pat and a treat!
