Everyone is very nice and are very attentive to mum. Staff are always welcoming when I come to visit Mum. I never feel restricted about visiting Mum. The food is very nice and if mum doesn't fancy anything on the menu, the kitchen staff are always on hand to offer an alternative. I am glad my brother
and I choose Woodlands.
Reply from Lesley Stewart, Manager at Woodlands Care HomeThank you for sharing your experience with us, we are delighted you and your brother feel you made the right choice for your mum. It's important families always feel welcome and thank you also for recognising this in your review. The dining experience is very important and our Chefs will be delighted with your feedback, as they visit all residents individually to discuss preferences and are always open to suggestions. It's lovely to see your mum so settled and her smile just makes our day. I look forward to sharing your experience with the rest of our team. Thank you once again.

My mother has been resident at Woodlands since November 2022.
The facility is first class, and standard is matched by the care provided by all staff.
Myself and our family have built personal relationships with the staff who are allocated to care for our mother.
They are kind, caring and very supportive
to her needs.
Under current management team, staff have been able to progress into new roles, which is a great incentive and achievement for those individuals.
Varied activities are held daily, weekly where residents are encouraged to attend and participate.
Reply from Lesley Stewart, Manager at Woodlands Care HomeThank you so much for your lovely review and for sharing your experience with us. We all focus greatly on building relationships and trust with families and residents, as it is so important we all work together, to get what is best for each and every resident we support. Our company values are very important to us, as is caring from the heart. I am delighted you recognise these values in the care your mum receives. Progression and development are indeed very important to us and it is lovely to support staff and see them grow and develop professionally. Like most people, having to move their loved one into a care home is an extremely worrying and difficult decision however I cannot speak highly enough about the Woodlands team and facility. My Mum has been resident there for 2 months now and went in under extremely difficult family circumstances and
a family bereavement. The Woodlands team are absolutely amazing, caring, kind, professional and committed to ensuring that my Mum, myself and my family were supported with the transition from home to woodlands. My Mum absolutely loves being at Woodlands. Their wellbeing program of activities is outstanding and I've seen an improvement in Mums overall health and well-being as a result of that. The staff treat us all like family members as we do them and it gives us all great comfort and reassurance knowing Mum is safe and being so well looked after and is happy and enjoying herself. Well done and thank you to everyone at Woodlands. You definitely deserve the recognition for all your hard work.
Reply from Lesley Stewart, Manager at Woodlands Care HomeThank you for such a positive and heart warming review. It is so important to us that Woodlands is a home from home for everyone living here and their families and that everyone always receives a warm welcome. To know that we have achieved this really brings us all immense joy. It is wonderful to see your mum joining in, she really has settled in so well and is always active around the home and really enjoys helping out her neighbours. Thank you also for recognising the dedication of our team, it is a true privilege for us all to support such an incredible generation and I look forward to sharing your review with them.

I unfortunately couldn't make it up to see my Grandmother after the New Year due to the bad snow in Aberdeen, however I was throughly reassured of how well she was getting on and was delighted to find her singing and dancing when I made it up to the home eventually!
Care is exceptional and my Gran
is so happy, it's amazing to see her so settled and socialising again. Thank you Woodlands!
Reply from Lesley Stewart, Manager at Woodlands Care HomeThank you for your review and for sharing your thoughts with us. The snow certainly was challenging at times but we had so much fun too, especially the indoor snowman making competition. One of our objectives is to bring happiness each day and as you say, there was a lot of singing and dancing going on and it was lovely to see your grandmother join in. Thank you also for recognising the dedication of our team and I am looking forward to sharing your review with them.

You will have noticed that I have put an X in every box below. I do really feel that Woodlands Care Home deserves that in every way - with every member of staff deserving to be well acknowledged for the work they do to make it the most welcoming and happy care home that I have ever been into. I have
been in many. Every member of staff does their very best for each resident. They are all polite, caring, smiling and welcoming to residents and visitors. Nothing is too much trouble. That is why it is such a happy and very good care home.

My son came into the home under an Emergency Protection Order on the 14th June. He left for his new accommodation on the 27th October. He was in a bad way mentally when he arrived. The staff were so kind, understanding that when he left he was smiling, something he hadn't done for a while. The warmth
and kindness shown to us his parents was exceptional, and we were amazed at the connection Martin made in his time there. Having a child with autism is extremely stressful, but Woodlands, also a haven of peace and fun for him. We were happy to leave him in the care of the wonderful staff.
Reply from Lesley Stewart, Manager at Woodlands Care HomeI cannot express how grateful we are to receive such a heartfelt review. It is testimony to what can be achieved when multidisciplinary teams join forces and work together. Like most people I was anxious about my mother going into care and if she would be looked after and be in a safe, clean and welcoming environment. From the moment we arrived at Woodlands we received a warm and sincere welcome from all of the staff.
The home is built to the highest of standards and
has been designed in a very modern style. Extremely spacious in every way, light and airy with every detail carefully and considered and thought through. The facilities are top class with lovely spacious rooms, a dedicated cinema room, library, quiet lounges and a wonderful open plan cafe to socialise in. They also have a beautiful garden area which is so easy to access from the cafe area and has plenty of seating areas for when the sun is shining.
The entire home is wonderfully managed and you can tell by the attitude of each and every member of staff that this is a happy environment for your loved one to be in and they will be looked after by staff that genuinely care.
Many thanks.

The care and attention my uncle receives is very good indeed. He is always clean shaven, with his favourite aftershave on. There are quite a few gents and there are often outings to the "boys club" as they call it. He seems very happy at Woodlands. Sometimes we feel he's too

Mum has been in the care of Woodlands for 18 months and sees this as her home. The facilities are excellent and the staff are wonderful. Every member of staff must be carefully chosen because they are all great. Mum gets very good care, she is confined to a wheelchair so needs help with everything.
Well-fed, well looked after, means that the family can relax a bit knowing she is in good hands.

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 81 registered maximum number of service users is 16.2, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
