Mum has been in the care of Woodlands for 18 months and sees this as her home. The facilities are excellent and the staff are wonderful. Every member of staff must be carefully chosen because they are all great. Mum gets very good care, she is confined to a wheelchair so needs help with everything. Well-fed, well looked after, means that the family can relax a bit knowing she is in good hands.
On behalf of the whole team, thank you for taking the time to write and share your thoughts with us. Our company values are very important to us and it is heartwarming to know, these values are recognised in our care and support for your mum. Each person we care for is unique, with a wealth of...
My aunt moved into Woodlands for palliative care. The staff were nothing short of exceptional during what was such a difficult time for us all. We stayed two nights with my aunt and everyone really went above and beyond to support my aunt and us all as a family. We all felt my aunt was definitely in the right place, the nursing team were incredible and talked through everything with us. Thank you all for the care, love and support.
A warm and heartfelt thank you, for taking the time to share your thoughts and experience at this time. To care for someone and support their family is a profound experience and a privilege for us all and I am so glad that shone through in our care. It is such a special and personal time and is so...
I visited my uncle who has been a resident for 6 months now. He was naturally worried about moving in but now says he's so happy and is really enjoying the company of the other gents. Everyone is just so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you very much for your lovely review and for sharing your experience with us. It is so lovely to hear your uncle is enjoying the company of the other gentlemen and has been very happy since moving into Woodlands. It really is lovely to see the gents enjoying outings and events together and...
My dad was diagnosed with dementia and has been in Woodlands for 7 months now. The carers know him so well and he loves a laugh and a bit of banter with them. We really enjoy spending the afternoon with him, having a cup of tea and watching a film in the family sitting rooms they have. Very happy indeed with the care he receives.
Thank you for taking the time to review our care at Woodlands. We are delighted your dad has settled in so well, it certainly is lovely to hear him laughing and chatting throughout the day. Our family sitting rooms are a new initiative, where families can spend time together and make tea, coffee or...
My gran was in for a period of respite after an operation and we are over the moon with the care she received from the wonderful staff at Woodlands! The personal trainer worked wonders to help her get back on her feet again and build up her confidence (even though I know she can be resistant at times!). Everyone at Woodlands was extremely welcoming and supportive, which resulted in my gran being a little sad to leave but has now bounced back into life at home! A huge thank you from the whole family.
Thank you so much for your review, it is so rewarding to know your gran's period of convalescence went so well after her operation and we are delighted she is thriving at home. Thank you also for recognising our personal trainer, who works so hard to individually support residents. Your gran is...
We were made so welcome and the staff took time and answered all our questions. Delighted with the care my sister received and when we visit, we are treated as one big family. Nothing is too much trouble and management takes the time to stop and chat. My sister's walking has really improved and she has managed quite a few outings, which she couldn't do at home. Highly recommended.
On behalf of the whole team, thank you for your very kind words. It is a privilege and a joy for us all each day, to care for and support residents and their families. It is extremely rewarding to know you always feel welcome and view Woodlands as a home from home. Thank you again for sharing your...
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at woodlands , the atmosphere is upbeat and this is priceless for us. The decor is first class. I really can't praise it enough. My mother-in-law feels safe here and loves the food, especially the home bakes. We are encouraged to enjoy the facilities with the residents. There is a lovely outside area to sit in.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It really is important to us that residents and visitors, feel Woodlands is a home from home and everyone receives a warm welcome. I am delighted you mentioned the cakes, they are indeed something special and no two days are ever the same! Your feedback is very important to us and I look forward to sharing your experience with the team.
My mum is very settled and happy at Woodlands. Mum has been facilitated for the very first time and has made many friends - we always receive a very warm welcome from staff and residents! Highly recommended.
Thank you for such a positive review. We are all delighted you feel your mum has settled in so well and it is heartwarming, to know she has forged new friendships since moving in. Knowing you always receive a warm welcome is extremely important to us, as we want everyone to feel Woodlands is a home...
Fantastic facility and the staff are exceptional in every respect. Activities are well organised and keep residents active and engaged. The food is high quality and the dining experience is excellent.

We are delighted you have given such positive feedback regarding the food and dining experience as it is important that every meal service, is an occasion for residents and their guests. Thank you also for recognising the commitment...
Woodlands has now been my home for seven months, the biggest thing I enjoy is the people, the attitude of the staff makes me feel safe and happy. I always feel welcome and encouraged. There are a wide range of activities available and I try to get involved in as many as I can. One of my lifelong friends is also at Woodlands so we can continue to see each other. I would recommend Woodlands.
Thank you so much for your lovely and positive review; it really is greatly appreciated. We are delighted you view Woodlands as your home, as this is exactly what we strive for. Staff continually seek feedback from residents and their loved ones, as we want Woodlands to be a home from home for...
I loved the home the minute I walked in the door, my client can be very awkward. She has been here for six weeks. The first week was very challenging for staff. 2 weeks, what a change for the better and since then she has never looked back. Happy within herself and now a pleasure to visit.
Thank you for such a lovely review and for taking the time to share your experience with us. As you highlight, it can indeed take time to adjust to new surroundings for residents, their families and those who support them. This is where our whole team, work together to ensure the transition is...
She feels she is in a 5 star hotel! She loves the Garden Cafe and taking part in the excellent range of activities. To see her waving to fellow residents and carers is lovely. She no longer looks for us anxiously but is happy to see us. She feels safe which is a huge thing. We also feel looked after by all the supportive staff.
All of them have played a part in changing her life and ours as we no longer dread phone calls. I now look forward to spending time with her and hearing about her day.
Thank you very much for the wonderful review, we are delighted that your Mum is enjoying life at Woodlands, it is our pleasure to look after her. It is lovely to hear she has formed new friendships and is enjoying the facilities and activities. The team will be delighted to hear your feedback.
Problem 2: After many falls/fractures, lack of confidence, mobility and general well-being.
Woodlands Care Home provided excellent day-to-day supervision and care.
Supported: movement, activities (provided and self-care/activity).
The care provided led to an increase in my weight (required) and increased mobility - with confidence.
Accommodation is very suited to purpose, clean and comfortable. Library, hair salon, garden, coffee shop, activities.
Thank you for taking the time to review us and providing such positive feedback. I look forward to sharing your lovely comments with all the team, it really is a lovely testimony to all their care and commitment. It was a true pleasure having you with us and we are delighted you are back on your...
My husband, who has young-onset Alzheimer's, has just returned from his first week of respite at Woodlands. He was incredibly well looked after by all of the team. Staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. In his words, Woodlands is a really nice place with a lot of good people and he has told me that he would be happy to return there so that I can have another break. That says it all really!
On behalf of the whole team, thank you for your kind words. It is a true privilege and joy to support those in our care and thank you for recognising the commitment and dedication of our team. It is extremely rewarding to know you both felt supported and that your husband settled in so well and we...
The building itself is beautiful with large spacious bedrooms filled with natural light, the corridors wide and airy and there are beautiful communal areas in each wing and floor which are a great size so that Mum was never overwhelmed by the number of people in them.
The building and amenities however are nothing without the staff that care for the residents. It is here that Woodlands really excels. Every person we came into contact with including receptionists, carers nurses cleaners and activity coordinators were exceptional. Their patience compassion and genuine concern for Mum was astonishing.
Unfortunately Mum passed away in January and again the compassion and support to both Mum and ourselves in her final hours could not be faulted.
All in all a first-class care home.
Thank you for such a positive and heartfelt review. It was an honour and privilege for us all, to be involved in supporting and caring for your mum and it is so warming that you recognise the commitment and dedication of the whole team. It is lovely to learn you and your family also felt supported...
All the staff on all disciplines have shown exceptional work ethics which allows us peace of mind for our family member!
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this wonderful review, it is our privilege to be caring for your family member. We are really pleased your loved one is enjoying the facilities and wide range of activities. The team will be delighted to hear your feedback.
I am perfectly happy being in the home as I have always said that I would never go into a care home due to the stigma around what care homes were in my opinion. I love Woodlands, I like that I feel very safe, and well looked after, able to have my own belongings and furniture. My granddaughters are able to come and go as they please and assist in the cafe serving ladies and gents with tea, coffee and cake.
Thank you very much for the lovely review, we are delighted that you are very happy living in Woodlands Care home, it is our privilege to look after you. The team will be delighted to hear your lovely feedback.
Woodlands staff are amazing, the manager is the most caring man, he has changed my auntie's life and those of others. Special thanks to the kitchen as she is very fussy but loves the food. All the carers are great and the cafe is amazing they even have wine. Best care home and manager ever, I would give it 6 stars if I could.
Thank you very much for the wonderful review, we are delighted to hear that you and your aunt are very much enjoying your time at Woodlands. We will share your review with the team who will very much appreciate your feedback.
My mother was accepted at quite short notice for respite care. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming at a time of high stress for the family. Having previous experience with care homes, my first observation was that there was no trace of 'care home smell'. Mum was given excellent care and attention for the duration of her stay. She enjoyed the company of other residents and staff, the activities and especially the food! I appreciated having access to the cafe when visiting. The residents' rooms were very generously sized, adequately furnished and always looked freshly cleaned.
A sincere thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for writing such a lovely review. The whole team are committed to providing the highest standards of care and are delighted our dedication is recognised in your review. It is incredibly rewarding for us to have been able to offer...
As soon as you enter the reception area, you are made to feel very welcome. Staff are very helpful and efficient and more importantly have a smile for you. My mum's every need is attended to without any fuss and staff always take time to speak to her and share a laugh or two. She enjoys the food and the company of the other residents. I am there most days so I am known to the staff and am always treated with respect and kindness. I feel very fortunate that my mum is being so well looked after by everyone in Woodlands Care Home.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. I am delighted your mum has settled in so well and that you also feel supported by our team. It is indeed important for all of us to work together to ensure residents live meaningful and fulfilled lives and families feel welcome at all times. I am so glad...

Lesley has worked with the company since 2021 as manager of their flagship home in Edinburgh and has now transferred to join the team at Woodlands.
As a qualified nurse, Lesley’s main clinical background is in the Intensive Care Unit at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and latterly as a Specialist Peritoneal Dialysis nurse. Having had amazing grandparents, Lesley always knew she wanted to work with the older generation and is passionate about ensuring they lead fulfilling and meaningful lives during their golden years.
As a leader, Lesley’s main focus is staff development and progression; she is a great believer in further education to ensure residents and families receive high standards of care and support. She adopts a supportive approach and fully embraces, working in partnership with residents and their families.

Prashna is a hard-working, caring and dedicated member of our team and is our Clinical Lead, overseeing our nursing and senior team. We are very proud to announce Prashna has won the very prestigious company award of Nurse of the Year 2025 for Scotland. Warm and caring, Prashna will always go above and beyond for all and is a real asset to our team.

Helen joined the company in 2022 as a member of the Wellbeing Team, bringing with her valuable experience from the hospitality sector. Her strong customer service skills, combined with her expertise in event management, made her an ideal fit for the role. Over the past four years, Helen has gained extensive experience, developed her leadership capabilities, and progressed within the organisation. She now holds the position of Non-Clinical Deputy Manager, where she continues to make a significant contribution to both the team and the service.

Margaret has come to Woodlands with many years of administration experience in care homes. Margaret is of particular support to those moving into Woodlands and their families.

Liesa joined the team with a wealth of frontline experience and always provides a warm welcome to those visiting Woodlands. Liesa's area of focus is supporting new residents and their families, step by step, throughout the whole moving-in process. Lisa's warm approach ensures the whole family are supported from the initial enquiry, right through to the day of moving in and after.

Liz has joined our reception team. Her caring nature, coupled with her bubbly personality, makes her the perfect person for this role.

Regina worked in Intensive Care as a Registered Nurse in Nepal before moving to Scotland. Coming from a long line of nurses, who all specialised in the care of the elderly, it was a natural progression for her to follow suit. As Unit Lead, Rojiina always has a positive and smiley outlook and will always go above and beyond for those she supports and their families.

Beth supports the nursing team and has undertaken additional training in the form of the SVQ3 qualification. Being a hands-on person, Beth leads her team by example and is a great role model and mentor for the younger members of our team. Beth is also our trainer and assessor for Moving and Assisting and holds regular classes to ensure all our staff remain up to date with their training.

Amaka joined Woodlands as a care assistant and has recently undertaken and passed with flying colours the SCQF7 qualification in Oral Care. Amaka will now be responsible for overseeing and training new recruits in the importance of oral health assessments and also in the auditing of services. Amaka is always smiling and positive, and whether walking to work or working at Woodlands, she is always singing, which brings so much happiness to the day...

Rachel joins us straight from university with a first-class degree in psychology, giving her a strong understanding of the importance of activities that stimulate both the mind and body. She brings hands-on experience organising events for all age ranges, from hosting children's parties to large-scale university and public events; she is ready to make use of these skills in her role as Wellbeing Lead

Leah is kind and compassionate and shows great empathy in helping people.

Leigha has worked in the fitness industry for over 11 years. Interviewed and chosen by our residents, she is now a valued member of our team. Steve has come to us with a wealth of experience in all aspects of maintenance and has worked in care homes since 2017.

Since joining the team, Gordon has taken on additional training to ensure our garden is accessible for all residents and their families. Gordon supports residents to grow their own vegetables and herbs in the garden and encourages them to be active in our Garden Club, planning the garden and buying plants. If not in the garden, Gordon loves taking residents out and about in Aberdeen. Always with a smile on his face, he is ever too much trouble.
