28 day respite nursing care. Nursing care and management of medication was first class. Food was also well balanced, nutritious, with lots of fresh fruit and veg. Resident was treated with respect and dignity.
Resident would have appreciated more intellectually stimulating and accessible activities,
but appreciated that the home is new and these things take time to bed in. Would use home again.

My father had to go into respite after a short spell in hospital with heart problems and a broken ankle. We approached Willingdon Park Manor and we met by Emma who explained everything to us beautifully and showed us the facilities available. My father was more than happy for his 6 week stay. The
accommodation is immaculate and the staff are all absolutely wonderful, always cheerful and so helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is fantastic and absolutely 5 star with a choice of meals. There are also plenty of activites to get involved with too. I would highly recommend Willingdon Park Manor.

My experience has been 100% brilliant .i have only been here a month , can't wait to return permanently and wish I didn't need to go home
The entire staff in every area are wonderful and go out of their way to help always happy and smiling. There are plenty of activities to join or not as you wish
, I have discovered my old knitting skills, and the food , well the food, what can I say , fresh and varied. Goodbye to my old convenience diet !. Willingdon is the Ritz of Care Homes , opened in April 24 , beautiful decor, and designer garden and patio
Willingdon is leading care homes into the future . I love it.

Both my parents moved into Willingdon Park Manor in February 2025.
Dad unfortunately passed away very quickly after moving in, however mum has been in the dementia community since then.
Staff were wonderful in the short time dad was there and helped mum settle in very quickly.
Nothing is too much
trouble for the staff here and everyone is so welcoming when we visit.
The activities for the residents are also well considered and varied.

We get regular updates on the app, personal updates when we visit and a phone call if there's anything significant we should know about.
Can't recommend highly enough.

This is a first rate care home which has provided everything I could have hoped for for my mum, and more. She was dead against moving but, with worsening dementia, she really needed more support. The team dealt brilliantly with her difficult entry and I was immediately reassured that she would be well
looked after. Six weeks later I am just as satisfied with her care. She settled remarkably quickly and staff have made every effort (with great success) to engage her in activities. It is clear that she and other residents are treated as individuals and given as much independence as possible. Family are made to feel welcome during visits and communication with us has been excellent. The place and facilities are as impressive as the staff and - most importantly for me - although she doesn't really understand where she is, my mum is full of praise for both. She seems happy and this is amazing. Huge thanks to the team and I would highly recommend to others.

We were very lucky to have been recommended Willingdon Park Manor by a family friend. Never easy having to make the step to put a relative, our mother is this case, into care but such a comfort to know she is so well cared for. The App used to update daily on activities and to share photos is a particular
comfort and enables you to be updated daily. Feels like you are walking into such a happy community when visiting.

My mother has just returned home from extended respite care at Willingdon Park following a hip operation in Jan 2025. Being 97 years old she was somewhat anxious about her stay, but the friendly staff immediately put her at ease and she formed very good relationships with all.
The OT specialist
was absolutely amazing, if it wasn't for her my mother would not be as mobile as she now is. Her patience, kindness and communication was above and beyond.
The carers (both day and night) were extremely patient, caring and efficient. My mother never had to wait more than 3 minutes for a carer to assist when called (on average).
The home itself is modern, clean and the facilities are just like a 5 star hotel.
We were also extremely grateful to the wonderful Customer Relationship Manager, who went out of her way to welcome my mother and us. Her door was always open and she always took the time to discuss and action whatever our concerns or worries were.
Highly recommend.

The great improvement in Mum's quality of life and well-being since moving into Willingdon Park Manor has been immense. Which has obviously given the whole family a sense of well-being too.
Mum is strong and independent, but since she broke her leg in December, the physicality of completing everyday
tasks became impossible. The option of future living at home alone was out of the question.
So at 91 and with a broken leg, Mum and family set about finding a new home where she would be comfortable, safe and cared for.
It was daunting visiting and exploring different homes, but we really did strike lucky when we walked into Willingdon.
Immediately we realised that this was where Mum should be.
Our initial and subsequent contacts with Emma were so positive, with all aspects focused on Mum's wellbeing, care and future needs.
Mum was welcomed into her new home in March, coming straight from hospital and hasn't looked back. She has everything she needs to live a happy, safe and varied life.

Your comments are very much appreciated, I will be sure to pass them on to the wider team. Thank you once again.

My mother took up residence at Willingdon Park Manor care home at the end of January following an operation to repair a broken hip. The care home is lovely: she has a very nicely furnished en suite room with a small private patio. There is a small dining room near her room as well as an adjacent lounge
both beautifully furnished. My mother eats lunch and supper in the dining room daily - 3 courses on offer at each meal. There is also a coffee lounge with newspapers and games where residents and guests can get barista coffees, pastries etc during the day.
The care home employs an on site occupational therapist who has given my mother wonderful support in getting her mobile again.
The care staff are attentive and respond quickly when my mother calls for assistance. They manage her medication and take her to hospital appointments.
My sisters and I are happy that my mother is receiving such good care.

I would not recommend Willingdon Park Manor thanks to the appalling level of care Mum received during her respite stay. The level of care was not of a high standard and was anything but attentive. There was no proactive care plan and the staff lacked training. Despite Mum's vulnerable state she was
rarely checked before 10.30am and had to ask for everything including help to get up, have a shower (the showers flooded during use), get her bed made and laundry collected. Of particular concern was the mismanagement of a number of important clinical matters including confusion in the dispensing of Mum's medication necessitating multiple interventions by her family to ensure she received the correct tablets/doses and similar confusion in the handling of her medical paperwork. The home also failed to make an emergency same day GP appointment despite promising us this would be done. As a result we had to remove Mum from the home as we were so concerned about her safety and wellbeing.
Reply from Ian Cole, General Manager at Hallmark Willingdon Park ManorThank you for your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear your mother's stay didn't meet your expectations. Please rest assured that the wellbeing and safety of our residents are our highest priorities, and we're committed to addressing any concerns that arise. Your mother personally expressed her appreciation for the care she received and shared that her move was to be closer to friends who couldn't travel. We thoroughly reviewed the points raised and our investigation indicated most claims could not be substantiated. Regarding medication management, we strictly follow the prescriptions and medical guidance provided by GPs and hospital staff to ensure residents' safety and our records confirm that all protocols were followed. While we respect your family's decision not to proceed with the second stage of our complaints process, please do contact us directly if you wish to discuss your concerns further. We sincerely wish your mother happiness in her new home. Ian Cole, General Manager

Willingdon Park Manor is an outstanding nursing home on every level in our experience. My father became a resident in May 2024 as we felt the facilities and approach to looking after someone with dementia were a world away from the care he was receiving at a nursing home nearby.
From the very start,
one of the wonderful care team made him her pet project and was determined to get him moving and engaging with things. My father was a very bright, commercial man with interests in history, world affairs and mountaineering. His dementia made him very frustrated and therefore he could be challenging to look after. None of this daunted the team - in fact it made him more interesting to them as they all sought to build a relationship with him and find things to engage him.
When we reached his final weeks, the whole community at Willingdon Park wrapped their arms around us and him to ensure he had a peaceful and comfortable death, surrounded by love. We couldn't have asked for more.

I would highly recommend Willingdon Park Manor. My mother has been cared for with respect and compassion by staff who always find time to listen and respond to residents' needs. Mum may not have chosen to use many of the luxuries available, such as the cocktail bar, cinema and massage treatments, but
she and her visitors certainly enjoyed being served freshly baked scones or cakes with coffee every day in the cafe!
Constructive feedback is actively asked for from residents and relatives, and Mum was pleased that there was a prompt response and resolution to an issue raised. Thank you to all at Willingdon Park Manor.

My husband, who has dementia, came in the nursing home on 12th May this year. Since then, he has been very well looked after by all the staff, who are without exception, very kind and caring and treat him as an individual. His health is closely monitored and his bedroom and surroundings are very comfortable.
He also enjoys using the reception area with its café, and weather permitting, sitting in the garden. My family and I feel very happy with the nursing home.

My mother moved in at the end of August, coming from a care home where the level of social and personal care was not the best.
We would visit her in the old place and nearly every day, she would be crying, distressed, and feeling isolated in her room.
The first few days at Willingdon Park Manor were
spent getting to know the team. Everyone, all of the staff on Mum's floor stopped in to introduce themselves as they walked past. Everyone. It's like a big family atmosphere.
Now, when we visit, Mum is 'out and about', I'd say half of her day is spent socializing, taking part in an activity or having a meal in one of the dining areas.
In the six weeks she has been there, she's got colour back in her cheeks, she laughs more than she cries (if she cries at all now), her nightmares have stopped and she has friends again.
Add all of that to a place that is thoughtfully designed, beautifully decorated and with lovely nurses... we are more than impressed.

My mum moved here in August from another home where her needs weren't being met.
She's been here about 6 weeks and the transformation in her is amazing!
She's a lot less anxious , she's being looked after so well and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. They're engaging with her and she's actually
joining in and enjoying a lot of the activities which is a joy to see. I know that if I don't visit, she will have a good day with lovely people.
All of the staff are really friendly and genuinely care about the residents and their families.
The food is really excellent too and there are always fresh cakes and things in the cafe if you're peckish. There are two fabulous ladies that do her hair and nails each week, which is included in the fee.
I've visited a lot of care homes in my time and this one is perfect in every way I can think of.
I think everyone deserves to live somewhere like this if they're in care.

I visted my friend each afternoon for a week whilst staying nearby. I was immediately impressed with the environment both inside and out, plus the facilities available. The staff seemed genuinely caring and I never got the impression that this was just a job to them.
Equally as impressive was the care
and concern afforded to me a visitor, when I became upset. This is a haven of all that anyone could ever need during challenging times.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.859 for Hallmark Willingdon Park Manor is calculated as follows: ( (330 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 354 Ratings = 4.859
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hallmark Willingdon Park Manor is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 85 registered maximum number of service users is 17, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
