Willingdon Park Manor has been nothing but exceptional in their true care and compassion in ensuring the person I support is living her best life alongside her dementia.
The facilities are superb, however the standout feature of this home is the genuine and heartfelt dedication to person centred care and kindness. Every single member of the team is friendly, welcoming and always happy to see you, the inclusiveness and sense of community are tangible and meaningful. Activities accommodate for everyone and engaging for residents of all abilities and there is something for everyone, from Queen concerts shown in the cinema room to gardening or book club, take away nights to feeding lambs.

Our experiences have been nothing but positive in this past year and I wouldnt believe a place as wonderful as this could exist if I had not been part of it in the past year.

Sadly, a care home was needed due to Dad's advancing dementia. We visited many, but Willingdon Park Manor stood out right from the beginning. Emma welcomed us warmly and made my Dad and our family the focus of every discussion. This felt much more like a home than a business, which was so important to us.
The home itself is beautiful, with wonderful facilities including a cinema room, lovely gardens, and comfortable en-suite rooms. However, luxury is of little value without a caring heart, and we found that WPM truly excelled in this respect.
From the carers and night staff to the gardener, reception team, activities coordinators, catering crew (the food is excellent), and housekeeping staff, everyone was so kind, genuinely caring, and willing to go the extra mile to help Dad settle in and look after him.

They didn't just show enormous compassion and respect for Dad; they cared for us as a family too, especially at the end of Dad's life. We will always be thankful to everyone at WPM

My wife began noticing her memory loss in 2018 and said "don't ever put me into a home". In March 2025 she suffered a vicious chest infection needing 14 days of antibiotics. The infection and the tablets took their toll. Help was needed 7 days a week and her dementia went into steep decline with Christmas 2025 being exceptionally difficult for her. After visiting 8 local care homes Willingdon Park Manor became the obvious choice when a choice was needed. It was the most appaling descision that I have ever had to make- but one that I have never regretted. The staff are wonderful, thoughtful, caring and nothing ever seems too much trouble. Just over a week ago she needed to go to A&E to be checked over, we were there for over 6 hrs. The senior day care assistant had said that when she was ready to go back she would arrange a staff member to come and help us. The night team were then on duty. After finishing her 12 hr shift the senior care assistant came to help.

SIMPLY EXCEPTIONAL CARE!

What a scary, sad time it was when we reached the decision that my mom could no longer care for my step dad with support at home. However, once we'd decided on Willingdon Park Manor(WPM), we were supported all the way and I'm so glad my step dad's last 8 months of life were spent here. WPM is not just a beautiful, well kept home, it is full of staff who exude warmth and genuine kindness. We couldn't have asked for kinder, more respectful care to have been provided for my step dad. Every staff member got to know him from the reception staff, to cleaning staff, entertainment support staff, managers and of course his care team on his floor. By the time my step dad passed, we felt like staff were extended family who shared our sadness at our loss. Thank you for loving my step dad with us and caring for him with such kindness and friendship. Thank you for keeping him company when he wondered at night and for looking after us when we visited including for warm empathic hugs after he passed.

My aunt was looked after by the team at Willingdon Park Manor after she came out of hospital, her previous care home could not take her back as she was on oxygen and needed more nursing care. The team were fantastic, so kind, caring and understanding. They kept her comfortable in her last days, and we are so grateful for their help.

My father needed more care than we could provide at his home. He had deteriorated very quickly and the home was able to take him within 2 days which was incredibly helpful. We had looked at a few of the best homes in Eastbourne but this one stood out as bright and airy and really like a good hotel. The communal areas are very modern and there is a lively coffee area on the ground floor which is well used by the residents and does not feel like a home at all, more like a nice coffee shop so it really is somewhere the residents like to spend time and you can see that. My father reported that the food was very good and he was difficult to please so this is praise indeed. His room was very nice and as I have said, like a good hotel room. Decorated with modern colours and everything he needed. All the staff were incredible from the admin side to the nurses and carers. He could not have been in a better place. If I need to go into a nursing home at any point I hope it is as nice as this one

The initial application went very smoothly and Emma was particularly helpful, however, it took a couple of weeks to cross check information and it took several weeks before the initial deposit was repaid (largely due to the Christmas period I expect).

Reply from Emma Jennings, Customer Relationship Manager at Hallmark Willingdon Park Manor

Thank you for taking the time to review our beautiful home. Please accept our sincere apologies in the delay in getting the initial deposit returned to you. Not only was it the Christmas period, we had also just switched our billing system within the company, which had an impact on the invoicing and payments. We're sorry for any distress and inconvenience that this caused you. Kind regards, Emma

Willingdon Park Manor provided respite care for my mother when her dementia was exacerbated by a UTI. The home was incredibly helpful in arranging this at very short notice. Although mum was reluctant to go into a home she was happy enough while there, and was very well looked after by the highly professional and caring staff. If/when the time comes that mum needs permanent care, I won't hesitate to turn to WPM again.

28 day respite nursing care. Nursing care and management of medication was first class. Food was also well balanced, nutritious, with lots of fresh fruit and veg. Resident was treated with respect and dignity.

Resident would have appreciated more intellectually stimulating and accessible activities, but appreciated that the home is new and these things take time to bed in. Would use home again.

My father had to go into respite after a short spell in hospital with heart problems and a broken ankle. We approached Willingdon Park Manor and we met by Emma who explained everything to us beautifully and showed us the facilities available. My father was more than happy for his 6 week stay. The accommodation is immaculate and the staff are all absolutely wonderful, always cheerful and so helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is fantastic and absolutely 5 star with a choice of meals. There are also plenty of activites to get involved with too. I would highly recommend Willingdon Park Manor.

Both my parents moved into Willingdon Park Manor in February 2025.
Dad unfortunately passed away very quickly after moving in, however mum has been in the dementia community since then.
Staff were wonderful in the short time dad was there and helped mum settle in very quickly.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here and everyone is so welcoming when we visit.

The activities for the residents are also well considered and varied.

We get regular updates on the app, personal updates when we visit and a phone call if there's anything significant we should know about.

Can't recommend highly enough.

This is a first rate care home which has provided everything I could have hoped for for my mum, and more. She was dead against moving but, with worsening dementia, she really needed more support. The team dealt brilliantly with her difficult entry and I was immediately reassured that she would be well looked after. Six weeks later I am just as satisfied with her care. She settled remarkably quickly and staff have made every effort (with great success) to engage her in activities. It is clear that she and other residents are treated as individuals and given as much independence as possible. Family are made to feel welcome during visits and communication with us has been excellent. The place and facilities are as impressive as the staff and - most importantly for me - although she doesn't really understand where she is, my mum is full of praise for both. She seems happy and this is amazing. Huge thanks to the team and I would highly recommend to others.

We were very lucky to have been recommended Willingdon Park Manor by a family friend. Never easy having to make the step to put a relative, our mother is this case, into care but such a comfort to know she is so well cared for. My mother has just returned home from extended respite care at Willingdon Park following a hip operation in Jan 2025. Being 97 years old she was somewhat anxious about her stay, but the friendly staff immediately put her at ease and she formed very good relationships with all.
The OT specialist was absolutely amazing, if it wasn't for her my mother would not be as mobile as she now is. Her patience, kindness and communication was above and beyond.
The carers (both day and night) were extremely patient, caring and efficient. My mother never had to wait more than 3 minutes for a carer to assist when called (on average).
The home itself is modern, clean and the facilities are just like a 5 star hotel.
We were also extremely grateful to the wonderful Customer Relationship Manager, who went out of her way to welcome my mother and us. Her door was always open and she always took the time to discuss and action whatever our concerns or worries were.

Highly recommend.

The great improvement in Mum's quality of life and well-being since moving into Willingdon Park Manor has been immense. Which has obviously given the whole family a sense of well-being too.
Mum is strong and independent, but since she broke her leg in December, the physicality of completing everyday tasks became impossible. The option of future living at home alone was out of the question.
So at 91 and with a broken leg, Mum and family set about finding a new home where she would be comfortable, safe and cared for.
It was daunting visiting and exploring different homes, but we really did strike lucky when we walked into Willingdon.
Immediately we realised that this was where Mum should be.
Our initial and subsequent contacts with Emma were so positive, with all aspects focused on Mum's wellbeing, care and future needs.

Mum was welcomed into her new home in March, coming straight from hospital and hasn't looked back. She has everything she needs to live a happy, safe and varied life.

My mother took up residence at Willingdon Park Manor care home at the end of January following an operation to repair a broken hip. The care home is lovely: she has a very nicely furnished en suite room with a small private patio. There is a small dining room near her room as well as an adjacent lounge both beautifully furnished. My mother eats lunch and supper in the dining room daily - 3 courses on offer at each meal. There is also a coffee lounge with newspapers and games where residents and guests can get barista coffees, pastries etc during the day.
The care home employs an on site occupational therapist who has given my mother wonderful support in getting her mobile again.
The care staff are attentive and respond quickly when my mother calls for assistance. They manage her medication and take her to hospital appointments.

My sisters and I are happy that my mother is receiving such good care.
