My 90 year old uncle came to Glenburnie Lodge in July 2025. Prior to this, he lived independently but was unable to continue due to health issues. I was amazed how quickly he settled in. I think this is down to the fabulous staff who are so very kind, attentive and hard working. Not only do they support
my uncle, who needs a lot of care, but I also felt supported and comforted, knowing he was receiving the best care. Glenburnie is a warm and welcoming care home with beautiful rooms and areas where people can meet and enjoy all the activities that staff create. The coffee lounge is his favourite. I would recommend Glenburnie Lodge 100%

Caerwyn has had a wonderful stay here, he has spoken to me when I've called and conveyed he is happy, enjoyed the food, he has told me that he has been doing a lot of walking with his frame, which is amazing as he has struggled with mobility this year in particular. Thank you so much for looking after
him, I hope he can come back, but after a lovely worry free break, I am pleased to take him home today. Lots of love Karen.
Reply from Roshni Khahira, Customer Relationship Manager at Glenburnie LodgeThank you so much, Karen, for your kind and thoughtful review. It was a pleasure caring for him, and we're so glad his time with us gave you peace of mind. We'd be very happy to welcome him back in the future.

This is a lovely home, with a bright and welcoming appearance as soon as you walk in. The facilities and the outings and activities are outstanding. The food looks good, the staff are very patient and friendly and my aunt is very happy here. I feel confident that she is safe here. I am not involved
in her finances so cannot comment on that.

We found the home to be excellent in terms of the premises and staff. The facilities were first class with easy access gardens, gym, restaurant and lounges. Services included nursing help, personal trainer, entertainment and trips out, all completed with care and friendliness. The ambience of the home
was welcoming, with impressive management and a very happy and competent team. The security was excellent as was our experience of the home in general.

Friendly, helpful and caring staff. It's comforting to see Dad clean, in coordinated clothing! As a family we really appreciate the dignity with which Dad is treated at this time when he's at his most vulnerable. I have had first class care and great support from all the staff here at Glenburnie Lodge. Nothing is too much trouble for them, even small tasks like doing up shoes have been undertaken very willingly as have had a replacement hip operation and my movement is restricted. All in all, a very pleasant
experience.

I recently had an accident, as a result I suffered some fractures and cannot be completely independent. I am most grateful that I could leave hospital to come to Glenburnie Lodge. This has enabled me to regain my health while saf, comfortable, enjoying good food, excellent care and support. I have found
the standard of care has exceeded my expectations. The staff are universally helpful, kind, pleasant and efficient. I am enjoying delicious food and the option to mix with others in the communal spaces or recover in the calm, luxuriously appointed bedroom. As a result both my family and myself have peace of mind.

I genuinely feel blessed to have Glenburnie Lodge so close to my home. As a family we honestly cannot thank everyone for their kindness, compassion and excellent care of our Mother. Mam is thriving and so very happy, the care and compassion shown towards her is heartwarming for us as a family. The positive culture and obvious Team ethos is tangible, and seeing such happy
staff ensures that the residents are also relaxed and feel truly valued. It is an absolute joy to visit Glenburnie Lodge - not only do the residents receive the highest quality of care and treated with dignity, but we as family members also feel extremely welcome, it really is a home from home. Glenburnie Lodge is an excellent Care Home and we feel very fortunate that Mam has found such a lovely place to live.
Reply from Jacqueline Orrells, Managing Director at Glenburnie LodgeThank you so much for your lovely review, it means a lot to us. Your Mam has settled so well and loves being part of the community. Thanks for your time this evening and it was good to know both matters I raised are in hand. I also should have added that you have a very engaging and positive team who strive to give the residents the best care and love they can, even after what sometimes must be a long hard working day. The home
made dessert of apple pie and bread and butter pudding are a particular treat.

I wasn't aware that such a place existed. It's permanently changed my view on the care home sector! It's made me consider my own plans, post retirement, even though that is someway off. I could stay here now, it's that nice and that well equipped. In short, I don't think it would be possible to achieve
a better standard for a care home, it's wonderful.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.924)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.924) out of 10 for Glenburnie Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.924 for Glenburnie Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (318 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 341 Ratings = 4.924
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Glenburnie Lodge is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
