The care at Windmill Lodge has been outstanding: the staff have been brilliant, very professional and very helpful and communications have always been prompt and very clear. I couldn't fault it and couldn't wish for a better place for my mother.

I would thoroughly recommend Windmill Lodge, every step of the way has been handled professionally and more importantly when there has been a bump in the road the staff at Windmill have risen to the challenge. My mother is now relaxed, happy and looks 5 years younger than when she was first admitted to Windmill 3 weeks ago, she still gets a little feisty during the "sundowning" period after 4 pm however the staff know exactly how to handle this situation.

So far so good. Mum has settled in and is enjoying the food, especially the sweets. She also loves the access to the garden.

There could be more activities but it's early days and the home has only just opened.

Thank you for your kind words. We are enjoying caring for your mum. She especially loves playing dominoes with the carers.

I desperately needed a break from caring for my husband who has vascular dementia. Windmill Lodge provided the right care at the right time. The management was very easy to deal with and I felt confident leaving my husband in their care for two weeks. He was very well looked after and very much enjoyed his time there, so much so that he is still singing their praises.

The care staff were attentive, courteous and professional and I would have no hesitation in using Windmill Lodge again in the future.

Mum has settled in really well at Windmill Lodge. The staff have all gone out of their way to welcome Mum and to make her feel comfortable. Mum moved from another care home which could have been very unsettling for her but everyone at Windmill Lodge made the move a success. The difference in Mum since she moved to Windmill Lodge is astonishing, she is much more talkative and happy to leave her room and socialise with the other residents. She loves being able to walk in the garden and enjoys having her lunch outside too. A huge thanks to the team for caring for Mum so well and also for helping us to navigate her move from her previous care home. The staff are always available to answer questions and always respond promptly to calls which is so important for us as my sister and I do not live locally. We feel very reassured that Mum is in such kind and caring hands at Windmill Lodge.

Mum settled well and Windmill Lodge was quick to realise Mum needed more specialist one-to-one care. Mum enjoys the surroundings and always comments on how nice the food is. The staff always friendly and the security to enter the building is excellent.

Windmill Lodge is a brand new nursing home located in St. Anne’s close to shops, beach and of course Lytham. The home is ultra modern with many forms of care for the level needed for your loved ones. It has lovely garden areas for outdoor enjoyment and luxury seating in lounges for family catch-ups.

Staff are excellent and quickly form close bonds with both residents and family. It’s a real home from home with added facilities to read, relax or simply be in the company of lovely people. I have so much confidence that my parent is safe and secure, it truly is a piece of tranquillity if you are looking for a safe haven.

My uncle has recently come to Windmill Lodge from Littleborough for a couple of weeks to spend some time with me as I live in Lytham. Myself and my uncle have been very impressed by the home always staff on the front desk to welcome you with a smile they look very professional and are always there to help. The care staff are amazing also the activities ladies are so good. The day me and my granddaughter turned up it was teatime so the care staff made sure he got a meal and welcomed us with a drink. Both activities ladies are lovely and went above and beyond for us. The rooms are amazing my uncle has a patio door in his room leading straight to the garden. We are looking forward to the official opening on Saturday with a musical show and lots of other entertainment.

Windmill Lodge is a beautiful, purpose-built care facility and it is outstanding in every way. I have been absolutely delighted with the care and attention my mum has received. She is very happy there and has settled in so quickly. This is due to the kind, friendly, caring and professional staff who go out of their way to attend to all needs of the residents and provide a lovely warm welcome to the relatives. It really is a wonderful place.

The staff were incredibly caring, attentive and respectful throughout the duration of my mum's stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Some were especially entertaining and helpful. I cannot remember the last time my mum laughed so much as she had been poorly for some time, and yet every day, she was smiling and happy and even giggling.

The whole place was clean and spacious. She also really enjoyed her meals and socialising in the main lounge, which was beautifully kitted out from the décor to the furnishings. The overall ambience could not be faulted.

Overall Experience

A very helpful stay for me as my wife needed to attend to various matters in the south of England. Unfortunately, I was still feeling slightly unwell from the effects of a viral/chest infection and took advice from my allocated community matron whilst in residence. I was supported by the on-site nursing staff in this and had begun to feel better about leaving. I had mostly chosen to remain in my room during the stay, but my overall impression was very favourable, and the staff were very kind.

Hello, my name is Hannah. I am the admissions nurse based at Windmill Lodge, Lytham St. Anne's.

My role is to support families from their enquiry stage, assessment process, through to admission of their loved ones, whether that is for respite or a more permanent residency. As part of this role, I also work with Professionals who can help relatives through the process and ensure a smooth and stress-free transition.

The rewarding nature of the role allows me to help relatives and loved ones through the most challenging decision they may take in relation to a loved one, and then see their loved one flourish here.
