Windmill Lodge is a brand new nursing home located in St. Anne’s close to shops, beach and of course Lytham. The home is ultra modern with many forms of care for the level needed for your loved ones. It has lovely garden areas for outdoor enjoyment and luxury seating in lounges for family catch-ups.
Staff are excellent and quickly form close bonds with both residents and family. It’s a real home from home with added facilities to read, relax or simply be in the company of lovely people. I have so much confidence that my parent is safe and secure, it truly is a piece of tranquillity if you are looking for a safe haven.

My uncle has recently come to Windmill Lodge from Littleborough for a couple of weeks to spend some time with me as I live in Lytham. Myself and my uncle have been very impressed by the home always staff on the front desk to welcome you with a smile they look very professional and are always there to
help. The care staff are amazing also the activities ladies are so good. The day me and my granddaughter turned up it was teatime so the care staff made sure he got a meal and welcomed us with a drink. Both activities ladies are lovely and went above and beyond for us. The rooms are amazing my uncle has a patio door in his room leading straight to the garden. We are looking forward to the official opening on Saturday with a musical show and lots of other entertainment.

Windmill Lodge is a beautiful, purpose-built care facility and it is outstanding in every way. I have been absolutely delighted with the care and attention my mum has received. She is very happy there and has settled in so quickly. This is due to the kind, friendly, caring and professional staff who
go out of their way to attend to all needs of the residents and provide a lovely warm welcome to the relatives. It really is a wonderful place.

The staff were incredibly caring, attentive and respectful throughout the duration of my mum's stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Some were especially entertaining and helpful. I cannot remember the last time my mum laughed so much as she had been poorly for some time, and yet every day, she was
smiling and happy and even giggling.
The whole place was clean and spacious. She also really enjoyed her meals and socialising in the main lounge, which was beautifully kitted out from the décor to the furnishings. The overall ambience could not be faulted.

A very helpful stay for me as my wife needed to attend to various matters in the south of England. Unfortunately, I was still feeling slightly unwell from the effects of a viral/chest infection and took advice from my allocated community matron whilst in residence. I was supported by the on-site nursing
staff in this and had begun to feel better about leaving. I had mostly chosen to remain in my room during the stay, but my overall impression was very favourable, and the staff were very kind.

Windmill Lodge is a brand new care home and my wife was one of the first there. Therefore my comments are based on a short period of time. However, I have been very impressed so far! The facilities and the standards of accommodation are the best I have seen. Most importantly, the staff are extremely
kind and caring with nothing too much trouble for them. A warm professional calm pervades and, so far, I am extremely pleased we chose this care home for my wife.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.328)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.328) out of 10 for Windmill Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.328 for Windmill Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (234 Excellents x 5) + (76 Goods x 4) + (27 Satisfactorys x 3) + (10 Poors x 2) + (22 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 369 Ratings = 4.328
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Windmill Lodge is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 registered maximum number of service users is 20, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Senior Sales Advisor Joined: 2023

Hello, my name is Anthony. I am the Senior Sales Advisor based at Windmill Lodge, Lytham St. Anne's. My role is to support families from their enquiry stage through to admission of their loved ones, whether that is for Respite or a more permanent residency. As part of this role, I also work with Professionals who can help relatives through the process and ensure a smooth and stress-free transition.

The rewarding nature of the role allows me to help relatives and loved ones through the most challenging decision they may take in relation to a loved one, and then see their loved one flourish here.

I have enjoyed the rewarding nature of the care industry during my time supporting adults with Autism and seeing how their own transitions to gaining more independence and new skills are unique and inspiring to me, and I’m sure others, too. This has led me to make a full career change and become focused on care services and seeing relatives and loved ones who choose to reside here gain more independence and benefit from the sense of community that the home provides.

During downtime, I spend time with my wife, take long walks, and I like to take my camera out for some landscape photography. I also do love Starbucks regularly too.
