There is nothing to complain about with Bere Grove. The whole experience from start to finish has been positive. My mum has been there for 2 weeks of respite care post-operation and has never looked so well. The staff are brilliant. They are so kind and respectful to all the residents and very welcoming to us.

I came to Bere Grove for 2 weeks respite care but after 1 week I have decided to stay permanently and I am now in the process of converting to permanent. It's a lovely home, staff are lovely and manager is excellent.

I was the first resident at Barchester Bere Grove Care Home in September 2023 when it opened for business. I have watched it grow in number and have become good friends of several of the carers.
Unfortunately, I depend on help as I am not strong on my legs and my balance is poor. I receive excellent care though sometimes I have to wait for help. That is simply due to limited staff when residents are most demanding.
I enjoy the varied activities on offer. The atmosphere here is very friendly and caring. I am lucky to be in such a comfortable residential care home.

I am easily frightened but here at Bere Grove, I feel totally protected from outside harm.

This score does not reflect the homes activities, rather Bere Groves mini-bus, essential for external activities.
The residents waited months for Bere Grove's minibus to arrive following the home opening. Ad-hoc outings happened when another minibus could be borrowed during this initial wait.
Soon, following eventual delivery the minibus broke down, it was in a garage for approximately seven weeks.
No replacement was sourced, taxis were used, therefore only one or two outings were cancelled, although trips were changed to closer venues.
Using taxi's impacted on the number of residents able to enjoy the outings, particularly affecting those wheelchair dependent.

There appears to have been poor communication between Barchester Homes (not Bere Grove) senior management & the vehicle lease company that Barchester Homes use for all of their homes minibuses one assumes.

Reply from Feedback Team, Barchester Bere Grove at Barchester Bere Grove

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We're sorry that the minibus was out of action so soon after we took delivery and the concern this caused you. Our team and the minibus provider have been working closely to make sure outings could continue for our residents with other provisions....

The home itself is lovely, extremely well-looked after and well-laid out with big windows looking out onto shrubs and trees. The staff are all very helpful, cheerful and above all supportive in their care for my father. They also make time to tell me everything that I needed to know e.g. he is eating, sleeping, etc. The meals were all excellent, and I was made very welcome at whatever time I visited.

Bere Grove has made Mum feel extremely welcome since she moved in last month. Every member of staff is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble, and their warmth has made Mum feel valued and allowed me to relax about Mum's safety. Mum is thriving already after a long hospital stay due to excellent care and attention and bespoke food and drink to aid Mum's recovery and general health. Thank you, Bere Grove.

After my hip replacement surgery, I needed a place where I could feel at home with the aftercare required.
After visiting a number of properties I had almost given up to find the special place.
One call to a friend, who had visited Bere Grove Care Home a few days earlier, was the answer to prayers. I visited and met a member of staff who was amazing in sharing her experience when she had the same procedure, immediately I felt in good hands
Following a careful assessment of my condition in hospital by the assistant manager, I checked in, best thing I did.
Everyone was just so kind, helpful and caring, I can’t thank the management of Bere Grove and their amazing team enough.

Warm regards and big thanks to the team at Bere Grove.

We needed respite care for my father for two weeks at very short notice. All at Bere Grice were brilliant, from our initial contact to the excellent care given throughout his stay. The standard of his room was super, and the staff was very attentive whilst giving him his own space. The food was outstanding, and I was able to have weekend meals with him. Nothing was too much trouble.

Highly recommended.

This is such a delightful care home. Being new, there are some events/rooms still being set up but I am amazed at how much in the way of activities that are already available for a small number of residents. The activities are varied and suit all tastes and my parents seem to be enjoying partaking in most of them.

We enjoyed a lunch with the family in the private dining room and the whole experience was superb, like going out to a restaurant without having to travel anywhere! I am very happy my parents have chosen to live here.

My father-in-law moved in at the start of October, and the improvement We have seen in him is beyond belief. The care he receives is second to none, we had a three course Sunday lunch with him and the food was very nice! Alot better than He was served in his previous care home. We are made to feel very welcome. They have a lovely cafe area where tea/coffee and cake are always available.
Dad has access to the lovely garden via his own room, where he can have a walk safely, and enjoy the peaceful sound of the birds chirping in a lovely country setting.
The staff are always keen to get him engaged in activities, but never forced to.

The staff have a true passion for caring, rather than it just being a job.

Value for money? compared to how he was in his previous care home, I would say it is worth it, seeing how happy he is now.

We have seen a massive improvement in Dad's overall happiness and wellbeing since He moved to Bere Grove from a previous care home.
I cannot express how much of a relief it is for me to know that he is receiving the best care.

The staff always let hs know what is going on with Dad, and keep us up to date with his activities, which is new for Us as His previous care home never bothered to let us know anything.

Oh my god, the food, the cakes, and the hospitality is amazing, and we are always made to feel welcome.

Dad`s room is very spacious and always clean, as is the rest of the home. He is able to walk around freely around the home, inside and out, which he was not allowed to do in his previous home.

I am a very happy person knowing my dad has the best care team to look after Him.
