Review from C M (Sister of Resident) published on 22 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

When seeking out a care home for a family member, first impressions are most important, and Carpenders Park came up tops! There was a warm, friendly welcome into a light, spacious reception area and from there glass walled corridors leading to en suite rooms (larger than any viewed elsewhere) and many other amenities. Once my sister was admitted, the interest, care and attention from ALL staff members could not be faulted and the door of her room was let open at her wish, so that she would watch or chat with any staff going past if they were able to spare the time, no matter how short. She was given one on one care with feeding when her appetite failed and she could no longer join other residents in the dining room; all quietly arranged without having to be asked. The welcome and support I and other visitors were given throughout was amazing and never changed, no matter how often we visited. And what a relief that there was always ready parking available! Thank you all at Carpenders Park.

My husband was a resident here about 18 months ago until his death. Since then I have visited the home to see a friend every four or five weeks. I was happy with the care my husband received and when or if I need similar care this is the Home I would choose.

Carers employed during my husband's stay still greet me warmly as does the deputy manager!

My 91 year old Mum moved into Carpenders Park Care home 6 weeks ago on a permanent basis. She was very apprehensive about this move from her family home, but from the moment we walked through the doors the staff were friendly and welcoming and instantly made her feel at ease and comfortable. Mum is always praising the delicious food and the friendliness and kindness of all the staff.
On my visits I'm also made welcome by all staff starting with the reception team as you sign in.

All the rooms and communal areas are spotlessly clean and decorated to feel homely. The cafe is a nice area in which to sit with mum and chat while having a cuppa and biscuit or cake. Mum joined in bingo for the first time and was over the moon to win a little prize. As a family we highly recommend Carpenders Park care home.

An extremely caring care home. Every member of staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much for them. My late mother in law had fantastic care right up until she passed away. I would highly recommend Carpenders Park Care Home. The whole place was spotless at all times and not only did the staff look after all the residents they also looked after the visitors. Entertainment was excellent every day, always something for the residents to do.

Overall Experience

I am very happy with the care and attention my partner is receiving since having had a severe stroke. All the staff throughout are so understanding, nothing is too much trouble and they are also so welcoming when family and friends visit. The overall standard of Carpenders Park Care Home is outstanding, spotlessly clean and kept beautifully. Everyone is so attentive and always at hand if there is a problem. A lot of effort goes into arranging various activities which the Residents enjoy. The Office Staff, Receptionist, In House Team and Laundry/Cleaning Dept are all exceptional.

I booked myself into care straight from discharge from hospital after knee replacement surgery. I am a widow and live alone and felt that I would be unable to look after myself. It was the best thing I could of done as I received excellent care which stood me in good stand for when I returned home. I was there for 2 weeks of respite. My physiotherapist says I am making excellent progress. Thank you to the home manager and to all her lovely staff.

My mum has been in Carpenders Park Care home just over a year and she loves it there.
Mum calls it her home and she is so well cared for that she says she doesn't want to leave.
On Christmas Eve mum celebrated her 102nd birthday.
The team went above and beyond to make the day special with birthday wishes, enormous number 102 balloons, a tiara, birthday glasses and a special rosette with 102 on it.,
They had arranged for her hair and nails to be done, ( even at that age my mum loves sparkles and to look and smell nice every day with her lippy, perfume and jewellery on)
As a family we had lunch with her in the private dining room and the chefs had made her a huge birthday cake which in the afternoon was shared among other residents and families with a bit of a party in the cafe area.
Where mum was given a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a special pop up card and a pressie and everyone sang happy birthday.

Last words for this review from mum "I've had an amazing day and everyone is so kind

Amazing! Definitely the best decision for my Dad to stay at Carpenders Park Care Home. Both management team and staff are fantastic! Kind, caring, friendly and knowledgeable. I cannot speak highly enough of CP. So very helpful and supportive and many of the staff (including managers) went over and above their duties to care for my Dad. I am so happy with CP. I am thinking of volunteering!

I booed myself into Country Court, Carpenders Park for two weeks respite as I was having a bunion removed and needed to keep my foot elevated, which would be difficult living on my own. I cannot fault my experience, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was freshly prepared and full of flavour. There was always activities to join in with so you didn't get bored, films to watch, quizzes etc. I would certainly recommend Country Court.

Dad came in to Country Court, Carpenters Park, as an emergancy, we rang up on the Thursday had the assessment with the Manager who made the family very relaxed at a stressful time, and brought him in on the Friday. He has been there for 6 weeks and getting used to his soroundings. The Home and staff are like one big family nothing is too much trouble when it comes to care and answering family questions someone is always on hand to talk to, the residents have a button chain round there neck for any sort of help in my father's case he uses it to ask for a cup tea. He is showered, shaved which he has a favourite young man who does the best shave ever, can't mention names as the review has said not to. His clothes are always clean and even had a hair cut always looks smart. We know two other people who have spouses there and are very happy with the level of care. Thanks to the whole Team
