My mum reluctantly came here from hospital after suffering a stroke. Within a couple of days she decided that she liked it enough to stay for a couple of weeks. She has now been here 10 days and loves it! Now wanting to stay permanently, the staff and facilities are excellent. Can't recomend it enough.

Pine Tree is a superb care home. The staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome each visit.
My mother in law and father in law have had a number of health emergencies since they moved to Pine Tree. I cannot overstate how well the staff responded. The calm and professional manner they displayed helped the family cope with very stressful situations and reassured us immensely.

We are all very grateful to them.

My sister did not want to go into a care home but realised she couldnt look after herself any longer. This was the only home she viewed and straight away she liked the room, etc. She has been here only 6 weeks but she looks so much better than when she was at home. All her needs are catered for and I dont have to worry about her any longer. I only wish she had moved into the care home a lot earlier.

My mum has been to Pinetree on two occasions for respite. The care at the home is outstanding, and the staff are amazing too. The grounds and building are purpose built and very comfortable too.

The management at the home are highly supportive (even of the relations). Loretta, in particular, has been especially helpful and kind at a time when I was in need of help. A brilliant care home and fabulous staff all round. Thank you to you all.

When I booked to stay at Pinetree for respite following a knee replacement I was assured that my needs could be met but there was no one who could do my ice packs so family had to come to do my care. Members of staff did walk with me. Often no carer came to see if I was asleep and in morning after 9 am before carer came so for 12 hours no one contacted me. Could not press buzzer unless I got out of bed difficult after major surgery.
Door would not stay open for 5 days repair man said nothing wrong very dangerous Management said they would deal with it!
Most of the food was awful other resident said it had gone down hill since - Pinetree had opened.
Carers very helpful.
Now night dress still missing - in the laundry somewhere.
? Has door been repaired yet

Has anyone found my nightie.

We are so fortunate to have our parents in a care home that is more like a hotel! However, it is the committed and professional staff (in all roles) that make Pinetree so special. All staff have a positive, competent and friendly attitude at all times. All are patient, empathetic and responsive. Additionally, there seems to exist an ethos of continual review, assessment and improvement, ensuring that every individual resident is valued and kept as safe, healthy and happy as possible.

The staff at Pinetree have been kind, friendly and helpful without exception. From our first visit, we have felt very welcome. My relative didn't want to live in a care home, but within a couple of weeks, she was singing its praises. The excellent food, the care and kindness of all the staff, and the wonderful surroundings have all made her feel safe and happy. She is treated with respect and consideration.

My aunt has gone into Pinetree today for respite. The staff have all been amazing making my aunt feel comfortable the weeks leading up to her stay from our first visit taking a look around to her assessments and then helping her fill in the paperwork. Loretta has supported me through some tough weeks and is very approachable and I know she is there if I need to talk to someone. The carers are friendly and also on hand to help with anything. Steph has the energy to lift anyone's spirits and is always very positive and everyone enjoys her activities.

More staff needed especially at meal times when they are taking meals to bedrooms. Meal tables were not always laid correctly and some cutlery not washed enough. Napkins often missing. Menu of the day not always followed. I was happy with the care I received.

My mother has just completed four weeks of respite care at Pinetree care home. It was our first experience of a Care Home for respite and we were anxious as to how Mum would find the experience. Pinetree is a beautiful home which felt more like a hotel than a care facility. The accommodation, lounges, cafe, cinema room, hair salon and facilities are first class. The staff were welcoming, friendly and caring throughout Mum's stay. It was a joy to visit Mum as it was apparent how much she was enjoying the facilities, great company and care provided. We were all sad when respite came to an end.

Mum has been under your care for over a year now. I am very happy with all aspects of her care. Being Picky, I would like a dressing table with chair for her to sit and do her hair & makeup at, rather than a stack of drawers. I have to mention Loretta, she puts her heart & soul into that place, and is a fantastic asset to your firm.

My mother-in-law was at Pinetrees for 2 weeks last June. Her stay was not a happy experience for her. They were given clear verbal and written instructions regarding her medication requirements which were ignored. This resulted in her needing medical intervention on her return home. She needed help with personal care which was not always forthcoming with one particular member of staff being rude, uncaring and very unhelpful.
She found it impossible to eat in the dining room as she was not made welcome by other residents and the staff did not intervene to help make her feel welcome. The food was barely OK and often served lukewarm. I understand food is brought in and not always prepared and cooked on the premises as they told us it was.
I have read other reviews and it appears respite guests get inferior care than other residents.

We received a letter from them with 14 apologies and a refund on our charges - this speaks volumes

My father fell and broke his femur in Pinetree while on respite care. An ambulance was called but family members found him alone on the bathroom floor. 3 months on and Barchester Group have not provided copies of their internal procedures for when there is a fall. As the staff ratio was 2 carers to 18 dementia patients on the 10th September 2025 , the policy seems to be leave them alone. My father died two weeks later. Poor reviews appear to be edited out as the family posted about this in October and it has vanished .

I spent two weeks in Pinetree Care Home on respite care and considering the luxurious decor, sadly the care was not up to standard. The food and drink were very poor and frequently served cold.
There are not enough caring staff but those that I did see were very pleasant and did their best.
The bedding was very poor quality.
There was only one real coffee machine on the ground floor and instead of a few expensive ornaments a coffee machine is required on each floor. Also not having admin staff in reception at the weekends meant residents and visitors couldn't get in or out without a long wait or a hunt for a carer.

The worst thing that happened to me was a young male carer opening the bathroom door while I was on the toilet and blatantly talking to me. I was truly shocked.

From the outside of the property I knew it would be nice inside as I had seen the property built on my daily commute. But the inside is better than I had anticipated. Every attention to detail has been thought of, decor, furnishings and ornaments of a high quality which make it feel like a 5* hotel but at the same time very homely and inviting. The staff are caring and attentive with nothing too much trouble. My Father In Law is currently in respite but I do believe he will be back to Pinetree to live out the final chapter of his life, as will I when the time comes. I believe that Pinetree is not a care home, it is a home you can live and be cared for, but have freedom if you still want it. As close to perfection as you could get.

Hi, my name is Steve I’m the Head of Maintenance here at Pinetree.

I have been working in the maintenance industry for most of my working life, a family run locally based business specialising in property maintenance. In 2020 I decided to have a change in industry whilst still continuing to do what I enjoy. An opportunity arose for me to join an established care home environment and I jumped at the chance of learning new skills.

Working in such a rewarding environment has meant a lot to me and getting to know residents and their families is a highlight of my job role.

Understanding the running of the building along with person-centred needs and being available to the residents and their requests means I can fully help the process of the move into care.

I am very approachable and will always listen to the needs of residents and their families to ensure that Pinetree is a home environment.

I am very excited about this next chapter and being part of the team to open Pinetree. Please do feel free to chat with me about all your maintenance queries, I’m always on hand to help.

Hi, my name is Loretta

I am very excited about being part of the Pinetree team. I am in a privileged position to be able to offer two levels of service. You will find me at reception where I will be part of the team being your first port of call answering any questions you may have and also part of the care team looking after residents with whatever care needs they may have.

I have been a carer for the most part of my working life and it’s my passion. I love seeing how you can change someone’s life by giving them the care they need that is tailored to them specifically.

Interacting with residents, getting to know them on a personal level and understanding them is so incredibly important to me and I will always go the extra mile for them and their loved ones.

Please do feel free to stop me for a chat and a cup of tea.
