Pinetree Care Home is a stunning purpose-built care home located in Rayleigh, Essex which has been beautifully designed to provide first class residential, respite and dementia care.

All Barchester homes are finished to the highest standard and furnished with impressive facilities, however Pinetree takes this to new heights with a well equipped garden, cinema, extensive bar area, private dining room, activity spaces, large suites and fantastic views.

The gorgeous home comprises of 60 large rooms which all have en-suite facilities and a wet-room. There are ground floor bedrooms have which garden access and patios. In addition there are three spa bathrooms equipped with light and sound technology for residents to enjoy.

The home is made up of different communities. Residential communities for those with limited care needs are on the ground and second floor, whilst there is an intelligently designed dementia supporting Memory Lane community on the first floor that includes a sensory suite.

With dedicated chefs, activity teams, carers and a hospitality team, Pinetree will not only provide fantastic care but also a truly wonderful lifestyle.

As a family we couldn't be more pleased with how the staff at Pinetree look after my nan. The staff are personable and caring, ensuring nan is looked after to the highest standard. We love the facilities and know that nan until be very happy here for a long time to come.

After shortlisting five different care facilities, Pinetree was unquestionably the clear choice for Dad. The staff demonstrate exceptional warmth, professionalism, and genuine care that creates a truly positive and encouraging environment for all residents. Dad's walking has improved significantly,
he's discovered a love of painting, and enjoys the beautiful garden. The organized visits and special celebrations are wonderfully planned-the VE Day commemorations were particularly moving. We couldn't be happier with our choice of Pinetree, the combination of excellent facilities, great management, compassionate staff, engaging activities, quality food, and individualized care creates an environment where residents don't just receive care-they truly thrive and live fulfilling lives. We would wholeheartedly recommend Pinetree to any family seeking exceptional care for their loved one. The peace of mind we have knowing Dad is in such capable, caring hands is invaluable.

Found all the staff to be friendly, welcoming and supportive of my elderly dad and his medical conditions. Very understanding of my questions as his daughter and supportive of me also. Dad found his room and the food excellent, pleasant stay and enjoyed chatting with staff and residents staff diligent
regarding dad's medication administration, also going above and beyond to ensure his comfort. Dad did worry about his laundry but was reassured when it arrived back clean the following day, would recommend Pinetree for excellent 24 hour care.

This care home has been a great experience for mum and I. Mum moved in this January, we've seen a remarkable improvement in her quality of life.
Her ensuite room is beautiful with the bonus of direct access to a furnished garden. The personal care received is thoughtful and kind, with a genuine concern
for her well-being. The cleanliness of the home is excellent, its a bright and welcoming environment. Food is another highlight. It's excellent in its variety and quality, the chef is accommodating, happily fulfilling Mum's personal requests, like her beloved cheese on toast. What sets Pinetree apart is the staff. They are amazing. They not only provide care for Mum, but also care for the family. They are aware of the stress families go through during this transition and give invaluable support. Overall the decor is beautiful, but more importantly, the staff always have time for interaction. Pinetree has improved both our lives, I am grateful for the care and compassion they provide.

My father-in-law was at the home for two weeks after being discharged from hospital. His confidence in walking and self caring started to improve immediately. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble and there is always someone available to answer any queries. I would like to thank all

My mother entered Pinetree Care Home after a long period of me living full time with her at home with Alzheimer's disease. I had visited several other homes in the area. On entering Pinetree the warm welcome and superb facilities immediately stood out. My mother has been resident there for 3 months
and I can say that the level of care, kindness and patience has been excellent. She has settled very well and is eating well and enjoying the activities on offer.

The support received from Pinetree Rawreth has been exceptional.
Allowing dad to join in their daily activities months before moving in was amazing creating familiarity with carers ,residents and environment ahead of moving in.
A welcoming home with staff who go that extra mile to allay any fears
or anxious feelings that residents or their families may have.
All staff take an interest and nothing is too much trouble .
Exceptional amenities and cleanliness with a friendly atmosphere that tries very hard to ensure everyone's needs are catered for. They take time to get to know residents on an individual basis offering understanding and encouragement organising group activities around their interests making it fun
I feel very confident with this amazing team that 'care' about their residents to recommend Pinetree to anyone contemplating respite or permanent care for a loved one.

My husband was in respite for eighteen days to give me a break. He was up every night so I never got a night's rest - I was very happy to put him in Barchester Pinetree Care Home, Rayleigh. It took him a day or so to settle down. Mainly, he was convinced he had to go to work, he is 87 years old. I was
very impressed with the care he received. The Pinetree is like a five-star hotel, beautiful. I would certainly use it again for respite if I need it. Unfortunately, having dementia, I don't think he realised how well he was looked after but I did.

We moved my aunt into the care home in the beginning of December and we have found that all the staff are amazing, warm, caring, helpful, gentle and really made my aunt feel at home from the minute she came into the home.
We feel that she has settled well and is very happy.

My mum came to stay at Barchester Pinetree Care Home over the Christmas period for one week of respite care. The room was beautiful and well cared for and every member of staff was very friendly and caring. The food was wonderful and plenty of it. She was a bit worried as she didn't know anybody but
all the other full-time residents were very friendly and welcoming.
I can't wait until I'm over 65 so I can come here myself!

The Barchester Pinetree Care Home is like a five star hotel. The home is decorated to a high standard. It's got everything onsite, i.e a hair salon, a cinema room, private dining and being able to help yourself to refreshments. There's entertainment and activities to keep the residents active on a regular
basis. All the staff are lovely and welcoming to the residents and families that visit, its like one big happy family. The only problem I had, was I arranged private dining for my mum and had to get in contact with them three times, due to them not contacting me back. In the end it was all sorted and the room was done out lovely and we enjoyed the food. The lady staff member couldn't do enough.

My aunt stayed at the care home for a couple of weeks. The place is beautifuland all the staff from the cleaners to nurses and management have a fantastic work ethic. Although only being here on day five, nothing other to say than very impressed with accommodation, service at all levels... and the staff are outstanding!
Importantly, we can now relax and start to get our life back as we can relax knowing that our brother/brother-in-law, the resident, is looked after
so well and he is happy and delighted with his care and having positive, happy staff looking after him.

Mum had a three-week stay here and it was so impressive. It feels like a home from home. Staff are incredible and nothing is too much trouble. Food was superb. Plenty of activities laid on for residents to join in or not each day. I felt Mum was very well cared for and she loved her little holiday.
She was able to help out with small tasks, which she enjoyed.
The decor is incredible, comfy bedrooms, definitely on par with a five-star hotel. I would highly recommend Barchester Pinetree Care Home - a very caring home.

Mum moved into Barchester Pinetree Care Home about five weeks ago after a few health concerns left her feeling unable to manage on her own anymore.
The home itself is beautiful, from elegant dining rooms to cafe areas and smart lounges, cosy corners to sit and chat or just watch the world go by. The
smart ensuite bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The food is excellent.
Above all, the staff are amazing, without exception, and have ensured that Mum feels safe, loved and very happy in her new home. She's got her old spark back and it makes me so happy to see her joining in with everything on offer and making new friends. She has no regrets whatsoever, thank you to everyone at Pinetree.

Fantastic experience so far.
Our mother has lived independently for fifty years so the move into residential care was a big decision.
The staff at Barchester Pinetree Care Home are excellent as are the facilities.
Mum has settled extremely well and seems to be having a great time.

Hi, my name is Steve I’m the Head of Maintenance here at Pinetree.


I have been working in the maintenance industry for most of my working life, a family run locally based business specialising in property maintenance. In 2020 I decided to have a change in industry whilst still continuing to do what I enjoy. An opportunity arose for me to join an established care home environment and I jumped at the chance of learning new skills.


Working in such a rewarding environment has meant a lot to me and getting to know residents and their families is a highlight of my job role.


Understanding the running of the building along with person-centred needs and being available to the residents and their requests means I can fully help the process of the move into care.


I am very approachable and will always listen to the needs of residents and their families to ensure that Pinetree is a home environment.

Hi, my name is Lisa and I am the Head Housekeeper here at Pinetree.


I have had lots of previous experience both in care and other professional companies in a carer and housekeeper role.


I love to ensure that residents and customers have the highest quality of service.  It is very important to me that I am getting to know the residents and how they like things done.


I would like my experience in all areas of work that I have obtained over the years to be of significant value to the lifestyle of the residents at Pinetree and therefore a benefit to their surroundings.


I am a qualified florist and absolutely love gardening and growing vegetables and so I am also hoping to get stuck in to the wonderful garden at Pinetree and help to enrich the lives of our residents on a deeper level too.


I am incredibly excited about starting this adventure at Pinetree and will deliver a five star service within a 5 star environment working alongside a great team who all share the same values

I am very excited about being part of the Pinetree team. I am in a privileged position to be able to offer two levels of service. You will find me at reception where I will be part of the team being your first port of call answering any questions you may have and also part of the care team looking after residents with whatever care needs they may have.


I have been a carer for the most part of my working life and it’s my passion. I love seeing how you can change someone’s life by giving them the care they need that is tailored to them specifically.

George Cormack

Job Title: Resident Ambassador Joined: 2025

Hi, my name is George, and I am proud to be the resident ambassador at Pinetree.


My role is to support the residents and their relatives and act as their voice. I listen to their compliments, concerns and suggestions and share this information with Damian, the General Manager, regularly. I also attend the meetings for Residents and Relatives.


Additionally, I undertake the role of Head Gardener here and I love nothing more than watching our beautiful garden grow, working with other residents on ideas of what flowers to plant and making plans for years to come.


My aim is to ensure that a high standard of care for all residents is maintained and continuously improved.
