I joined the Sanders Senior Living family in June 2024, after spending over three decades devoting my life to the compassionate care of individuals living in Dementia, Nursing and Residential care homes. I am a trained Nurse by background.
Raising my family in a close-knit community within the Vale of Belvoir, my three boys were educated in Melton Mowbray. I cared for my darling, gentle dad, who developed dementia, and I truly believe that unless you have had personal experience of such heartache, no one can really understand both the sad and happy times during such a journey. Dementia does not define a person, and every person’s journey is different.
Throughout my 35-plus-year career, I have worked in numerous settings, from small family-run homes to large-scale care Companies, consistently advocating for person-centred care, emphasising tailored, meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation, physical health, and emotional well-being, with family and friends being at the heart.
As I look to the future, I remain committed to my vision of care homes as vibrant communities where everyone can live meaningful, fulfilling lives. I will continue to inspire new generations of caregivers, ensuring that my legacy of compassion and excellence will endure for years to come. I have an unwavering belief in the human spirit's capacity to thrive — no matter what the circumstances.
I joined the Wilton Manor family in September 2024 as a Care Team Manager and have since progressed to the role of Deputy Manager.
I have over 25 years of experience in the care sector, having started my journey at the age of 16 as a volunteer in a local care home, where I would spend Saturdays helping to run activities such as bingo. Within a year, I began working full-time in the kitchen and supporting activities, which gave me a strong foundation in all aspects of care home life.
From the age of 18, I knew that a career in care was where I belonged. I progressed into a caregiving role and quickly took on additional responsibilities, becoming a Senior Carer on nights. From there, my passion for supporting others has continued to grow throughout my career.
My close relationship with my grandparents inspired me to pursue a career in care, and it remains the driving force behind the compassion and dedication I bring to my role. I truly cannot imagine doing anything else.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two young children, who also love visiting Wilton Manor and spending time with our wonderful residents.
I began my journey at Wilton Manor in March 2025 as a Care Team Manager, further developing my experience and continuing my commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
I began my career in care in 2008, when I decided to pursue a new challenge in a field I felt truly passionate about — supporting and caring for others. I started in domiciliary care before gaining experience across a variety of services, including learning disabilities, stroke rehabilitation, and mental health care. This allowed me to build a broad skillset and gain valuable insight into different areas of the sector.
Over time, I discovered a particular passion for working with older people, where I feel I can make the most meaningful difference. I find great fulfilment in my role, especially in bringing comfort, support, and a smile to those I care for.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my English bulldog, Winston, taking him on long walks and occasionally bringing him in to visit the residents, which always brings a lot of joy. I also enjoy helping my mum with her local market stall, which keeps me busy and connected to the community.
I joined Wilton Manor in October 2024, ahead of opening, which gave me a wonderful opportunity to build relationships within the local community and help lay the foundations for the home to become a valued and integral part of it.
I have always worked in customer service, and this role allows me to combine that experience with the ability to truly support and help people. It is incredibly rewarding — there really is no other role quite like it. I have the privilege of supporting families through significant life changes, as well as getting to know our residents and making a genuine difference to their lives.
I am particularly passionate about organising events at Wilton Manor and welcoming the community into our home, creating a warm and inclusive environment for everyone.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my grandparents, who have played a huge part in shaping the person I am today.
