What I Do

My name is Joanne, and I am the Home Manager at Thurnby Fields Care Home.

As Home Manager, I am responsible for leading our dedicated team and ensuring every resident receives the highest standards of care in a warm, welcoming and supportive environment. I believe every person is unique, and it's important that we take the time to understand each resident's individual needs, preferences and life story so they can continue to live a happy and fulfilling life.

Supporting residents and their families is a real privilege, and I'm passionate about creating a home where people feel safe, valued and truly cared for from the moment they walk through our doors.

My Experience

I am a qualified nurse with over 30 years' experience in health and social care, including 20 years working within the NHS, specialising in palliative care. For the last 10 years, I have held senior leadership roles within the care sector, managing both nursing homes and retirement villages.

Earlier in my career, I successfully led a nursing home that achieved an Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), something I am incredibly proud of. Throughout my career, my focus has always been on delivering exceptional care, supporting colleagues to be the very best they can be and creating environments where residents can thrive.

Joining Cinnamon Care Collection to lead the opening of Thurnby Fields is an exciting new chapter. I have been incredibly impressed by the support the company provides to its teams and the genuine commitment to placing residents at the heart of everything we do. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, including my four children. I'm also a keen sports fan and particularly enjoy watching football whenever I get the chance.

What I Do

My name is Santosh Kaur, and I am the Deputy Manager at Thurnby Fields Care Home.

As Deputy Manager, I work closely with our Home Manager and care team to ensure every resident receives the highest standard of person-centred care. I am passionate about making a positive difference to people's lives and supporting colleagues to build the confidence and skills they need to deliver outstanding care. One of the things I love most about my role is that no two days are ever the same.

My Experience

I have worked in the care sector for 25 years, beginning my career as a Care Assistant before progressing through a variety of roles, including Registered Manager and Deputy Manager.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience leading teams, supporting residents with a wide range of care needs and creating environments where people feel safe, respected and valued. Joining Thurnby Fields is an exciting opportunity to be part of opening a brand-new home and helping to build a caring and compassionate team from the very beginning.

About Me

Outside of work, my family is the most important part of my life, and I enjoy spending as much time with them as possible. I also love reading, travelling whenever I get the opportunity and following Formula 1 throughout the racing season.

What I Do

My name is Claire, and I am the Home Admissions Advisor at Thurnby Fields Care Home.

My role is to provide information, guidance and reassurance to anyone considering care for themselves or a loved one. I understand that choosing a care home is one of the biggest decisions a family will ever make and that moving into a new home can feel just as emotional and daunting for relatives as it does for the resident.

Whether you're planning ahead or need support following a change in circumstances, I'm here to answer your questions, explain the options available and guide you through every step of the journey. I aim to make the process as straightforward, reassuring and positive as possible, so you can make the right decision with confidence.

My Experience

I have worked in the health and social care sector for over six years, supporting older people and their families. Before joining Cinnamon Care Collection, I worked for Home Instead Doncaster, where, during the Covid-19 pandemic, I trained and worked as a Care Professional, supporting people to remain independent in their own homes. That experience gave me a real appreciation of the difference compassionate care can make, not only to the person receiving it but also to the people who love them.

I joined Cinnamon Care Collection in 2023 and was part of the team that successfully opened Outram Fields Care Home in Sheffield. I'm now delighted to be helping introduce Thurnby Fields to the local community and supporting families as they begin the next chapter of their loved one's journey.

People have always been at the heart of my career. I love getting to know each resident and their family, understanding what matters most to them and helping them feel welcomed, supported and at ease from their very first visit.

About Me

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors. I grew up on a farm, so I've always enjoyed being outside, and that's something that's stayed with me. Whether it's cycling, walking or camping, I love making the most of the fresh air and exploring new places.

I also enjoy spending time with family and friends and getting involved in local community events. And when I'm not outdoors, you'll probably find me hunting for a bargain on Vinted! Read less

My Experience

Before joining the care sector in 2024, I built my career in Human Resources, Corporate Relations and Admissions within the independent school sector. These roles gave me extensive experience in supporting individuals and families, building lasting relationships and delivering exceptional customer service.

I joined Cinnamon Care Collection in Spring 2026 to support the opening of Thurnby Fields, having previously worked in a similar role at a care home in Oakham for 18 months. I love meeting prospective residents and their families, helping them through every stage of the journey and welcoming them into our beautiful home.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing residents settle into their new surroundings while giving families the reassurance and peace of mind that their loved one is happy, safe and receiving exceptional care.

My role is to ensure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly, supporting our residents, their families and our team. From managing the day-to-day administration of the home to assisting colleagues and welcoming visitors, I help create an organised and efficient environment so our care teams can focus on delivering exceptional care.

My Experience

I joined Cinnamon Care Collection in June 2026 to be part of the team opening Thurnby Fields.

Before joining Thurnby Fields, I worked as an Office Manager within another care home, where I developed strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills. My experience has helped me become adaptable, reliable and confident in delivering excellent service while building positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues.

What I enjoy most about my role is knowing that the work I do behind the scenes helps ensure our services run smoothly and supports both our staff and the people we care for. I enjoy being organised, solving problems and working as part of a team. It's rewarding to know that, even in an administrative role, I can make a positive difference to the quality of care our residents receive every day.
