The moment my mum first entered Glencairn she knew she'd feel at home. Arranging Mum's stay beforehand was so straightforward and stress-free and the staff could not have been more kind, helpful or accommodating throughout her stay. Mum was extremely well looked after day and night and did not want
for anything. She particularly enjoyed her delicious meals and the flexibility of where she might eat and was also very happy to be involved in the activities organised plus the luxury of having her hair and nails done. Any worries about staying 'in care' disappeared very quickly and Mum is looking forward to her next opportunity to stay! Such a positive experience has given me and my siblings great reassurance.

I feel that my mother is being extremely well cared for. Staff are kind and attentive and quick to deal with any issues arising. Communication with myself and my brother is excellent. My mother mentions various activities that she has enjoyed. The facilities are maintained to a very high standard
and the food is excellent.

In entering Glencairn House, I feel, on every occasion, that I am coming into a warm, friendly and inviting home!
And my aunt, who has been at Glencairn for over fifteen months and who is partially blind and mainly bedridden, is always treated with the same abundance of kindness, respect and dignity
that each and every member of staff shows to all who live and visit there.

My Mum has dementia and moving her into care in September 2021 was probably the hardest decision I have ever made. However, within a very short time, it became apparent that moving her to Glencairn was one of the best decisions.
The standards are really first class and she is treated with the utmost
respect and care. She is safe, happy, and so well looked after. I visit most days and am constantly impressed by the home and the marvellous staff. I could not wish for better.

My wife has dementia and has been a resident of Glencairn for over two years. She is well looked after and loved. She is happy there and shows no signs of distress. I could not wish for a better care home for my wife.

My mother came to Glencairn worn down and in a poor mental and physical state, but with the gently and respectfully offered care and attention of the staff, which has improved in a short space of time. It is always immensely difficult taking the decision to move a loved one into care, but after a month
and a half of my mother moving to Glencairn I can honestly say that it was the best decision I ever made, and the right decision for my her. What I find particularly impressive about the service is the excellent communication and consultation from Glencairn on matters large and small to do with her and her needs and the strong relationship they have with the local medical centre. To me, it has demonstrated that the staff at Glencairn are really on it and paying close attention to the welfare of those in their care.

My mother came to Glencairn in a poor physical and mental state but has improved immensely since she has been there. This is due to the first-class standards of the housekeeping staff in terms of hygiene, the quality of the food provided and the excellence of communication and service between the home
and the local surgery. The willingness of management to provide whatever services they can to enhance my mother's wellbeing is very impressive, and while this past time must be very difficult for the care staff they make every effort to maintain high standards of care.

My mother has been at Glencairn Care Home since 2017. The rooms and facility is excellent. The management and staff are also excellent, keeping up eye standards of cleanliness and care. Overall, we are very pleased as is my mother.

My 90-year-old parents were hurriedly admitted to Glencairn Care Home mid-October 2020 due to a serious deterioration in being able to care for themselves. Despite being in the midst of the Corona 19 pandemic Glencairn have been exemplary in caring for all their needs and ensuring they settled in very
quickly. My mother was thanking me by the second day! Their rooms are beautifully furnished, to a high standard and cosy. The wet rooms are so spacious and modern - I would like one in my own home. The food is exceptional - I get a daily report from my mother. She thinks she is living in a five-star hotel.
But more than anything - the standard of care is high. The manageress and carers are so warm and attentive - one even painted my mother's nails which she was over the moon about. They greet me warmly and there are strict PPE rules in place. I am very grateful for being allowed to visit my parents once a week despite Covid.
Choosing Glencairn has been one of my best decisions.

My mother wanted respite care after a fall and replacement hip surgery. I visited Glencairn and knew immediately that the welcoming manager and staff would very quickly make mum feel at home. Lockdown happened two weeks after mum arrived and it is testament to the support and kindness she has been
shown by all the staff that although she had no family visits for several weeks mum felt settled and very well cared for. As a family, we were kept well informed by the manager and were reassured by her professionalism at this time. Once garden visits resumed I could see how well mum was looking and her praise for everyone at Glencairn and the excellent food she gets could not be higher. Although mum arrived at a most unusual time she loves her room and feels so happy and well supported that she is now giving serious consideration to staying at Glencairn permanently. I think that says it all!

This is an innovative and forward-thinking home where the residents are treated as individuals. There is a sense of life and vibrancy in the home.
The range of activities that are on offer are wonderful and my mother enjoys regular trips to the opera, ballet and theatre as well as outings to the seaside.
The manager and her team are caring and supportive and communication is excellent.

I can't speak highly enough of the inspirational manager and her fantastic staff. They are constantly kind and caring to my Mum and she's very happy at Glencairn. The facilities are of a very high standard and the food, in particular, is excellent.

My mother-in-law is a resident at Glencairn, she has very high standards and a discerning eye so when she gives praise it must be worthy. This is indeed the case for Glencairn and fits in with the experience we have had with the manager and team also. I would highly recommend as a place of care for
a loved one, as the entire service is personalised and bespoke to each resident.

Accommodation is fairly good, staff friendly and helpful with few exceptions.
My only real complaint is the strident internal alarm call that seems to go on and on. We visit regularly, and it seems to be on most times. Why not have a softer, easier tone. The staff will still hear it!

On arrival, I was greeted warmly by the care staff.
The hall, large lounge and public areas were fresh and comfortable - obviously well cared for by cleaning staff, as was my bedroom. On entering the dining room, I was happy with the layout of the fresh-looking tables. The kitchen produced enjoyable
meals - actually too much for me!
I had lots of visitors (family) who were all happy with Glencairn and my comments. I felt much better for my respite stay.

This is an excellent care home. Residents are treated as individuals and their varying needs - levels of infirmity, likes/dislikes, being involved or not in activities, etc - are catered for. The staff and home are run for the benefit of the residents, not the other way round. You remain a person here,
an individual.

Based on a recent new management change, already there is evidence of interesting and generous changes to my room with further plans making it more like home. I feel more warmth, an agenda of valued support and overall happiness.
There is a can do culture resulting in flexibility, quick decision making
meaning positive outcomes are being achieved.
As I have a range of medical problems, I feel nothing is neglected and there is thoroughness in the care given to me, nothing is glossed over and investigated for further treatment if necessary.
I am fully supported to live an independent lifestyle, for example, going to the theatre and concerts with my friends, however, there are also opportunities to be involved in interesting trips out arranged by the staff.
I have a sense of optimism adding to my security and overall wellbeing. I feel settled within the home now.
Afternoon tea with friends are high on the agenda.
