An absolutely brilliant team who gave excellent care. Cannot thank them enough for looking after my family so well. Nothing was too much, went above and beyond. Thank you so much for making his time with you such a happy experience. Thank you.

This review is to reconfirm that the family cannot praise highly enough the management and all the dedicated team at Marina Lodge for the care and understanding given to my son. Marina Lodge truly has the most kind and caring staff and it is a perfect place of peace and is such a welcoming homely environment
that forever brings peace to an elderly mother, two sisters and our father resting in peace. The difficulties during these lockdown times and the extra efforts to support and maintain connections with family is heartening and so very supportive for all of us.

My brother is a resident at Marina Lodge. He has been unwell for 38 years and has been in care homes and hospitals during most of this time. At Marina Lodge, he has made a lot of progress in a short time.
The atmosphere at Marina Lodge is different to that in the other homes he has stayed in: it is
more homely, welcoming and personal. The staff I have met are positive, cheerful, friendly and professional. I believe they really do care. My brother is not an easy case and has many needs which are being admirably met by the staff. They treat him like a family member. There is a sense of community; people talk. An effort is made on birthdays and the residents are taken on weekly socialisation trips which include swimming, the cinema, a coffee shop and outings by car to surrounding places. I have noticed a more caring, compassionate, loving and human approach at Marina Lodge, and it is doing my brother a lot of good.

My husband has been a resident for over two years and has been treated well. He is happy there. There has been considerable improvement in the overall conditions recently. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
