Riverside Care Complex

My Grandad has been really well cared for, he has had a tough few months with his health but today he was outside, smiling and happy. It has made me so happy to see him up and out of bed and chatting away in the sunshine. Thank you.

Very good no worries with anything mum looked after with care and love till the end the staff could not have been better we as family can not thank them enough mum was confused but was helped to eat and drink the menu was always very good

It is very reassuring to know that mum is being well cared for by such lovely staff.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Riverside for someone in my mother's position. Well done to all the staff.

My husband has been a resident for a little over a year now , I find the staff to be extremely friendly, caring, and nothing is too much bother. I was really reluctant are first to let my husband go into any care facility but with his Alziemers progressing, and my ill health i didn't really have alot of choice, so glad he's in Riverside, my husband receives all the care he needs. A big thankyou to all the staff and a Happy New Year.

Very welcoming staff that really care for my Mum's needs. She has a lovely en-suite room which is kept clean and tidy and is well maintained. She is always encouraged to join in the many activities that take place, almost on a daily basis. We are always made welcome when we visit and are kept in the loop with any decisions or information regarding my Mum.

But what I really do want to say is that the staff here are so lovely and so kind in what is obviously a difficult job. They are on the ball with everything, ccmpassionate with family as well as residents, and always cheerful without being overbearing. Mum's room is lovely (she loves the windows) and having an en-suite is so good. Thank you so very much to everyone!

I'd just like to say that Riverside and the all the staff have been an absolute godsend with mum. Mum's been there since December last year after a stressful year with her health, and I can honestly say the staff are absolutely amazing. Dad visits mum at the same time every day and they make sure she's ready in the conservatory for his visit (he's almost a resident!) Every time I visit (each week) they are always so cheerful and welcoming. They show such care and kindness towards mum and the other residents, and have such rapport with them, and even join in with some of the activities they have, especially singing and dancing along to the regular entertainment. The care home itself is ideal, all the rooms have en-suite, and it just feels so light and roomy, and always clean. I know I speak for my whole family, but we honestly can't praise the home and especially the staff enough - you're all stars and thank you for your continuing care.

I think the care my aunty receives is first class. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. I know sometimes they are under pressure it is a very hard job but very much appreciated. They have been very understanding when I have gone to them with personal family problems

Geoff now wants to make this his permanent home 'its like been on holiday!'

I cannot rate Derwent has more highly. My mother entered end-of-life care and was not expected to live more than a few weeks. She actually survived for 19 months. The staff were extremely caring and the facilities excellent. They really did care and made her more comfortable than I could wish for. Ten out of ten in every respect.

After 4 months the manager informed us and the social worker that not only could not keep him safe due to the road at the front and the river at the back he was annoying other residents with his repetition (a symptom of the disease worsened by inadequate care and support). A blessing for us now though as dad resides in a fabulous home like a luxury hotel (not just the next step up from a hospital) with amazing, knowledgeable staff, where nothing is too much trouble and we are kept fully in the loop all of the time regarding his care.

The amount of clothes that have gone missing and food we bring goes missing i rang last week to speak to the manager as usual not available the person i spoke to said they would pass it on no ones got back to me my brother went last week march 2025 our sister had men's cargo pants on!!! These definitely are not hers her leggings go missing 8 bras gone missing tops missing etc we were not informed or had any say where she went she was just put there i visited 3 care homes in York all willing to take her social services rang me and said no homes will take her what a load of bull shes sat all day she was very fit when she went in now she can hardly stand cos shes just left sitting all day iv never seen any interaction its a horrible place. I wouldnt recommended this place to anyone they are short staffed how can residents be cared for when theres not enough staff im angry at the way she's made to pull herself up when sat in a very low chair.

Dad settled straight away into his new home with the support and care of the lovely, caring, and professional staff. He is very happy and says he feels loved and cared for.

The care given to my uncle was wonderful he was treated with respect and dignity at all times. As we are not local the communication we received was very informative and welcome. The facilities at the home are lovely with a well-kept secure garden and regular activities. I cannot praise the staff enough for the care they give making it a home for their residents.

I would just like to say. My mum has recently been in hospital. The staff at the care home were great. They checked up on my mum to make sure she was ok and they also kept me informed of any situation that occurred. Even the manager went to see mum at the hospital to make sure she was being looked after properly. Many thanks for everything.

Looked after my dad in his last 18 months like their own. The staff were really good with him and nothing was too much trouble if we had a problem we communicated with them and worked together to put it right. Got to know a lot of the residents there and enjoyed talking to them all. Thought it was one of the better care homes in the area, easy to get to, friendly staff and a lovely place with lovely gardens. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a safe and friendly place for their loved ones.

Mum went into Riverside Care Complex for two weeks respite. It was quite upsetting as I'd never left Mum before. But the manager and all the staff were both very welcoming and supportive. Mum settled in really well and was enjoying all the activities. After a week I got a call from the manager saying Mum had been taken to the hospital as she was not well. When I got to the hospital, Mum looked emasculate, clean, hair shining and clean clothes I was told if Riverside hadn't acted so quickly things could have been a lot worse, as Mum has sepis. After 3 weeks in hospital, I wanted Mum to go back to Riverside where I knew she would be well looked after and was happy thanks to the manager we got Mum back to Riverside, where she was so warmly welcomed back. The staff are so so wonderful and I have a lot to thank them for.

I would like to say how pleased I am with my wife's care. Every one of the staff are very caring and supportive. The manager has great knowledge and helps in everything. Thanks for caring. My wife had a severe stroke in January, since then I have been supported by social services and the wonderful care home.
