My mum has been in Magnolia House for 2 years. During that time she has been cared for with upmost care, kindness and compassion. All the staff have been extremely professional and provided my mum with the care she needs. They have made sure she is encouraged to join in all the activities. Although
my mum can be very difficult they have always treated her with respect and kindness. One can only admire their patience.

We are very impressed with the care B receives, she is not always easy but the staff handle her with patience, empathy and a smile. They encourage her to join in the activities on offer, which are varied. They are always approachable + willing to discuss any concerns we may have and appear to know B
really well.

It is my impression that Magnolia House Care Home is a very good and interesting place for residents who have problems such as dementia and mobility issues, and have not got expert help in their own home that would keep them safe and well. There are things for them to take part in to help keep them
interested. It is a very nice, clean place.

Mum has now settled in this home; sadly, her health and mental capacity are failing. Staff are very good with her, giving her what she needs. Mum is a people person. Her room is good, clean and warm; her bathroom facilities are good, always clean and tidy. Mum eats a lot of snacks, so we take her own
to her. Mum has mentioned that food can be a bit boring sometimes. Overall, she is doing well here. I would recommend the home to others.

Magnolia is a very good care home with regular, varied activities, very caring, fun and attentive staff and good at keeping in regular touch with relatives. My dad was a resident for 6 1/2 years. He was always treated with dignity and respect and valued by the staff. Magnolia was always clean and well
organised with friendly, attentive management. My dad always enjoyed the garden, trips out and the activities.

I find all the staff very nice and helpful. I feel that Caz, who does entertainment, always goes the extra mile for everyone. Caz has always made Wendy feel good, and she puts a smile on all our faces. What a nice person she is.

My mother has been at Magnolia House Residential Care Home around 3 years. I have heard some horror stories about some homes in our area, but I must say the quality of care she has received whilst being there is faultless. The place is kept spotlessly clean. The staff are excellent nothing is too much
trouble. All my mother's needs are attended to with kindness and dignity.

My partner reached the stage where I couldn't give her the care she needed and reluctantly had to admit her to a care home. I wanted for her what Sue would have wanted for me, which is the best possible care to meet her needs, and I think that is what she had then and still has now. It was difficult
initially, but the staff are experienced, caring, sensitive to Sue's situation and helped through the transition from home with me to her new home. The care has adapted to how Sue has settled and is still to the same high standard. I would without a doubt. Recommend Magnolia House.

My late father was cared for with kindness, good humour and, I believe, love. I will always be grateful for this. The food provided was always beautifully served and was appropriate for his difficulty in swallowing. Staff were always cheerful.

My friend is a resident here, and she is treated extremely well. She has profound and complex care needs which are provided for by the wonderful team here.
My late mum was also a resident here from June 22 until her death in February 23. She was always kept clean and well fed. In fact on my frequent
visits, she was always having coffee and treats brought by the staff.
As an older person myself I would willingly live here if I had to go into care.

Magnolia house is a lovely, clean and comfortable care home. It was the hardest decision ever to put mum into a care home but I can honestly say it was the best decision for her to go into magnolia. From the owner, the management, the lovely carers, entertainment team, cleaners, cooks, hairdresser and
maintenance they are all brilliant. They all work so hard. It's always spotless, the food is amazing, rooms are lovely and the activity team keep them all entertained doing a vast variety of activities. From exercises, games, baking, gardening, quizzes and tribute afternoons. Well done to all involved. The residents are so lucky to be in magnolia. My mum is happy and well cared for, what more could we ask for. X

My brother-in-law and sister-in law are both residents at Magnolia House and both need help in all aspects of life to a lessor or greater degree each day. My wife and I have always found when visiting that they are both well cared for and both them and the premises are clean and well looked after.
We are kept informed of anything that may impact their care or might help with their development. The staff are very professional and friendly and we are very pleased with how they interact and treat our relatives. It isn't easy working in this type of environment but they do an excellent job and we are happy with how our relatives are progressing. Thank you.

From the Management team to the carers and support staff, every member of the team goes above and beyond to care for our loved ones. My mother has been in the home for over 3 years and never once have I seen anything but the greatest of care and attention. Such a relief to know Mum is happy, safe and
content. Thank you Magnolia House.

My mum is being cared for, she is happy there and says everyone is lovely. The senior carer is amazing I always get an update about mums heath any changes to medication or if mum has had a fall. The care home looks very welcoming just like a home would. It's clean and 98% of the time smells fresh.
The staff seem very happy and they are friendly and patient with the residents. The food looks lovely and is varied. I love that as a relative I can come and go any time. The staff work hard on activities and days out. The minibus is a great addition. I am very happy with the care my mum receives. Thank you all for the care you give, it gives me great peace of mind knowing mum is well cared for.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.787) out of 10 for Magnolia House Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.787 for Magnolia House Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (200 Excellents x 5) + (45 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 249 Ratings = 4.787
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Magnolia House Residential Care Home is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
