My wife has been in Aspen Grange for three weeks following a period since April 17 in a centre in Chelmsford. She has Parkinsons and Lewy body dementia so far I am pleased with her care at Aspen Grange.

Friendly, caring and kind. Have made us feel very welcome when we visit our dad.
The shock of downward health has been made easier by the care and compassion both to our dad and his family.
The calm atmosphere is very good, the staff are lovely and the tea dances and visits out are always lovely and my dad seems to enjoy them. We have seen photos and he is always smiling which is such a joy for us to see.

We are so pleased that Dad is being looked after so well - it makes a great different story to a very sad situation.

My aunt moved into Aspen Grange in January 2017. The manager was excellent, the staff team outstanding. The care my aunt received was excellent.
Our family was always made welcome and always offered tea and coffee.
Sadly my aunt passed away in April and she was treated with dignity and love.

The staff team showed her and the family so much compassion, outstanding home

I very much appreciate the care and attention given to my husband, which has made his life and mine, much easier to cope with his Dementia.
Aspen Grange was a happy place for him to be in and it was especially nice for him to celebrate Christmas and his birthday there.

Many thanks.

I can not express how happy we are at the care that is given and shown at Aspen Grange. After 2 false starts at other establishments we can finally rest in the peaceful knowledge that my father- in- law is being cared for in a professional and thoughtful manner.

As a family, we are extremely pleased with the care provided and given to my father. I live 3 hours drive away and so can't visit as often as I would like, but the staff are always happy to update me when I call, and they call me whenever they need to, keeping me well informed. They are extremely accommodating, willing to help, and are also extremely patient and kind to the service users, nothing is too much trouble. We cant imagine that there is a better place for my father and they offer exceptional value for money.

I am always treated with respect and find the staff very helpful. The home always appears to be clean and tidy. I have taken meals there with my wife and the food is of a good standard. I can visit anytime I like, and the manager is always approachable.

Generally pleased with the care and positive attitudes. Mum only been here for 4 weeks. Some maintenance issues ongoing - light switch in bathroom - rocker cover missing and despite repeated requests, not replaced. Emergency call button - can't plug into wall - again, problem in existence on admittance - still not fixed..

Nice and clean facilities. Room for patient made to look like her own living room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Maybe dining room looks a bit overcrowded. Security very good. We have been told meals are very good. The above is based only on our 4 visits, but staff very accommodating relating to the resident's health and well being and when needed they have telephoned us with any problems which arose.

The staff in the home are always visible and on hand if needed, friendly and happy the home creates a homely environment. The food looks home cooked, and the main meal is three courses. The residents are shown two courses on plates so that they can choose what they would like to eat. A pleasant atmosphere and different activities for those that wish to take part.

The first impression on entering Aspen Grange is of scrupulous cleanliness and the absence of unpleasant odours. The staff are uniformly cheerful, welcoming and helpful. Any staff member seems willing to help and I have not been told 'that's not my job' by any of them. In general they seem keen to go the extra mile to ensure that good quality care and even entertainment is provided.

Aspen Grange is a very caring home. My mother who is 99 years old has been there for three years. As far as we can tell she is happy there. My brother and I looked for a home nearer to where I live but nothing came up to the standard of Aspen Grange. All the staff are very friendly and caring. I don't know what we would have done if our mother was not there. We cannot thank them enough.

Meet the Team (1)

Sharon Thompson
Sharon ThompsonJob Title:Care Home Manager

I joined Aspen Grange as Manager at the end of January 2020. Having worked in the care sector for over 20 years, I have extensive experience as the registered manager of three previous care homes. These include residential and nursing settings, including supporting people living with dementia.

I have personal experience of looking after a family member with dementia, so I understand the impacts of the condition from both sides. My journey in care began as a care assistant 21 years ago, working my way to Home Manager, having achieved my Registered Manager award.

I am a firm believer in person-centred care to achieve a good quality of life for our residents. With the right care and environment, you can truly make a positive change in residents’ lives. I’m looking forward to working with my team and being part of the Aspen Grange Family.
