Dad has settled in nicely. 99 and frail but as much as possible is included in activities, e.g. men's afternoons, quizzes and films. My son accompanied me on a recent visit and was very pleased to see Dad looking comofrtable and content. Dad told him about his pleasant afternoon. When we left my son said "it's like a 5 star hotel. Grandad's happy." I think all staff do a marvellous job and can only praise them for putting my mind at rest. Dad's in the right place.

Mam was admitted to the demention floor in February 2025. Whilst the staff were generally very nice there were some gaps in care for service users. I cannot however fault the level of cleanliness both personal and the rooms.
I think the family that run this home are very money driven (before the needs of their clients) therefore this is why I have given fewer stars. John is obnoxious, non-empatehetic and rude at best!
When mam did pass away in May I think that the staff should have some training delivering the sad news and navagating next steps! I was woken up at 2.00am and asked "which funeral director fo you want to use?"

If I had the choice of homes again would I go with PIcktree ..... Probably not but I think they are all the same!

My mother-in-law has settled in very well, the staff are amazing with her. She keeps telling us that the meals are fabulous in this hotel. The activities she seems to enjoy, we have watched her singing along to music and playing bingo and carpet dominoes. Her room is also nice and clean, which is a massive plus for us. The home on a whole is lovely, nice and clean and very inviting.

The care home was recommended by family and friends when my wife needed full-time care. From our first visit we had a good feeling about the home. My wife moved in on 10th February 2026. The staff have been very friendly, caring and helpful throughout the stay. Facilities are excellent. Meals are varied, well-balanced and drinks are served with and between meals, with staff providing help with feeding as required. The rooms and communal spaces are kept clean and tidy every day. A range of activities are availavle and residents are encouraged to participate. Medical assistance was provided recently, quicker than our GP could provide. Our family feel my wife is safely looked after in the 'home' atmosphere the staff have created.

My godfather came into care Jan 2006. He has been here before for respite. When it was time for full-time care this was the only place that we wanted him to come to. As a retired nurse and ex-matron of a nursing home I am aware what standards of care are. Picktree Lodge has an excellent ethos with excellent standards of care and a homely feel. The carers are all great. Most importantly Jim is happy here.

From my first contact with Picktree Court I have been impressed. The helpfulness, empathy and friendliness of all the staff has been very comforting. The home appears clean and tidy, and staff and residents happy. Mum is well looked after, personal and nursing care she receives, and encouraged to join in a variety of activities. I particularly wanted to highlight the Family Fun day which took place on Bank Holiday Monday. This was very well organised and you could feel the fun& laughter in the room which was lovely. The residents were all very much included and relatives were made to feel very welcome too.

I usually visit when the weekly quiz takes place on a Thursday teatime and it is refreshing to see how residents are able to participate at a level which suits them and are all made to feel valued

well done :)
