I would like to just say how fantastic this Care Home is...
My Father in Law came into Askham Hall almost 2 years ago, very frail and a shadow of himself after spending a considerable amount of time in hospital. When we first visited him about 2 weeks after he went in, I was shocked at how frail he looked, I burst into tears!
We hadn't seen my Father in Law for 4 months as we live in Cornwall and visiting regularly isnt easy.
I said to my husband, I'll be surprised if dad is still alive at Christmas... fast forward 6 months...
he was still here...
Looking a LOT healthier. He wasnt skin and bone, he had put on weight, was healthy & had that cheeky sparkle back in his eyes!!!
This is all from the care & dedication that the carers at Askham Hall have for the service users they look after.

First Class care & compassion is given to each and every individual that uses this service. It is because of this home my Father in Law is still with us & we couldnt be more grateful! Xx

From walking through the front doors, it is a very welcoming experience. I come daily, and everyone from management, nurses, office staff, carers, cleaners, laundry ladies and cafe staff are all so friendly and polite, everyone uses my dad's name to speak to him, and some of the carers go beyond what you would expect. The pressure has been lifted from me, and I thank all at Askham.

I feel reassured knowing my parents are so well cared for by the staff at Askham Hall. The Manager and Lead Nurse have been exceptional-always responsive to any queries we have and extremely supportive. The staff on reception are so friendly and helpful-nothing is ever too much trouble for them!

It was a daunting decision to admit that both my parents needed to move into a care home, something we never imagined would happen. However, we are deeply thankful that they are at Askham, where they receive such compassionate and professional care.

My brother was transferred to Askham Hall in early March 2025 & I have made regular telephone calls asking after him and have made 3 visits so far...
First impression of community buildings - what a lovely place!

On my visits I found all the staff very welcoming, friendly, helpful and caring. There were some difficult challenges to deal with regarding my brother's early days in the home and I had no problem believing that these were handled most professionally.
