All the staff are very helpful and caring. The meals are made from scratch, fresh every day. The residents are made very welcome and taken on different outings each month. The staff also have projects that they do to entertain residents within the home too. I had the pleasure to watch them decorate Christmas cakes. This is a home and environment that I would want for myself, when the time comes. I would recommend St Georges!
What a fantastic recommendation. It's so genuine when someone says they could see themselves living with us. That reinforces to us that we're on the right track, making StG's genuinely feel like home. Thank you. My colleagues in St Georges will be thrilled to read your comments, best wishes, Helen
My Dad has been at St Georges since December last year. Initially as a temporary resident but now permanent following the death of my Mother. Can't fault the care my Dad has got from St Georges, he is very happy there and now calls it his home. The staff also managed the rapid demise of my Mum very caringly and made sure my Dad was ok throughout.
We were also able to hold the wake following my Mum's funeral at St Georges. This was great and we really appreciate the effort that Simon, Zoe and the team put in to organise it. It made a sad day a bit less sad.
My sincere condolences on the loss of your Mum. i am so glad we have been able to provide some comfort and support to your family at this sad time. With reference to your Dad, what a wonderful compliment it is that he calls StG's 'home', that is our absolute goal. St George's is a family...
St George's Nursing Home provides a consistently high standard of professional care in a calm, organised, and well-managed environment. Our family's experience has been very positive, regarding residential care and in how the home supports families.
Dad is a resident at St George's, and the quality of his day-to-day care has been dependable and well delivered. Staff are attentive, courteous, and professional in all interactions. The atmosphere within the home is calm and reassuring, which reflects strong leadership and good teamwork among staff.
In addition to Dad's ongoing care, we also held a family funeral at St George's. The arrangements were managed efficiently and with appropriate sensitivity. Staff handled the logistics discreetly and competently, allowing for a successful event.
St George's Nursing Home is a well-run care facility with high professional standards. Families can have confidence that residents are supported with dignity, reliability, and respect.
Thank you for providing your feedback. My sincere condolences for your loss. I am so delighted to read your comments about my colleagues in St Georges. Everyone will be delighted to read them. My best wishes for you and your family, Helen
They are always there to help, unlock the doors or help with anything else. The home is always clean and smells fresh. I am told, by the relative I visit, that the food is always good and nothing is too much trouble by the chef, who will cater to all tastes.
Thank you for your kind comments and for taking the time to provide your views. I can completely agree with you about our food service in St Georges. Richard, Jacob and the team do a marvellous job with the food, it's always so fresh and tasty. Also, I agree that the whole team is...
My mother in law moved to St George's from another care home, where she had been for 7 months. St Georges is amazing, from the kind and welcoming staff, to the amazing food to the superb activities. My mother in law has had.more stimulation and attention in 4 weeks than she did in 7 months. It is a pleasure to.go.in and not have to worry about her. All the different rooms in the home are lovely and it feels very homely, where you can make a cuppa, stay for lunch if you want to. , join in with the activities ( which i have to say are brilliant, from meeting children. Having a cuddle with dogs, making puppets, lovely mothers and St Patrick's day celebrations )
How lovely to read your comments, it makes my day, thank you. I am sure my St Georges colleagues will be equally thrilled. There is always something going on at St Georges, lovely people to talk to, pets and children and generally just life going on as it should. It is our privilege and pleasure to look after your Mother-in-law, and your family. With my very best wishes, Helen
I've found my pot of Gold!
Living with Dementia can be devastating for the individual and, the carer. So when you take that next step of looking for a home and I emphasise home, as that is what we all ultimately want. It is paramount that the Team of staff are fully understanding of the complexities of Dementia. The surroundings are safe, warm, friendly, homely, with lots of engagement. St George's meets all those criteria and more!
Mum has only been at St George's for a short while and that has allowed me to relax, smile and feel calmer for the first time in a very long time. Mum is settling in well in her new home, the staff always use names and have wonderful smiles for everyone. The medical Team are approachable and professional. Mum's room is warm, cosy and feels very homely and safe, a lovely space if you just want quiet time together, although mum is beginning to enjoy the laughter and frivolities that are always taking place!!
And the food, goodness, it is superb!!!!
Your lovely review made me smile, thank you. I am so delighted to read that you can now relax as your Mum is settling in well, living with us in St Georges Home. It's a lovely place, filled with fantastic staff, residents and families. There's always something going on, and lots of...
I am a Nurse myself and the standard of care is second to none. I have always been extremely happy that all my Mums care needs are met with such high standards of care and dignity. As a family we feel very supported by Simon and his team and can not thank everyone enough for allowing us complete peace of mind that Mum could not be cared for so well anywhere else.
Thank you for your five star review, my colleagues in St George's will be absolutely thrilled to read it. It means so much to us all, to receive feedback from family members. We look to provide supportive care and service for the family as much as the resident. My very best wishes to you all, thank you again, Helen
We as a family cannot fault the care and love shown to our mum. The home is always spotless and you are always made to feel welcome. The staff are very friendly and spend time engaging with residents and family. The activities team provide a very wide range of daily activities to keep everyone entertained. The food provided is first class. The Sunday roast looks and smells amazing! I would highly recommend St Georges to anyone.
Thank you for making time to provide us with your feedback. Family information is extremely important to us, and readers of this review site. It provides a clear indication of where we're getting things right, making our Residents and families feel relaxed, comfortable and at home. My colleagues in St Gs will be delighted to receive your five star review. Best wishes, Helen
Isobel had a major stroke in February and was severely affected incl loss of swallow and speech. In May she was ready for her discharge from hospital. But not well enough to come home. So she went to St Georges Nursing Home, particularly as they are experienced in "peg" feeding. She enjoyed good care and kindness and made good progress being able to eat all the food she needs by the end of September, returning to our home early November. All thanks to the nursing and care at St Georges.
How wonderful to read that your wife was able to recover and recuperate with us to be able to return home. That's a great success story for everyone involved. St Georges was our first home and has been dear to our hearts ever since (October 2019). We have some lovely colleagues in St Georges,...
I was much happier being able to communicate with the different levels of staff. And the staff themselves felt more valued since his arrival. Thank you to the staff and other relatives for their kindness.
Hello I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your Mum. I am very pleased to read that your Mum enjoyed the garden and the tea room. My colleagues in St Georges are warm and caring and enjoy spending time with the Residents. They will all be delighted to read your kind comments, thank you very much
All staff members were very kind, caring and showed compassion towards my relation. All her needs were met and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The home is clean and well managed.
Thank you for your comments. I am delighted to see you've given us five stars across the board. My colleagues will be absolutely delighted, thank you. Best wishes, Helen
The staff made us feel very welcome as a family. The aftercare for the family was excellent with supportive management and staff.
Hello,Thank you for your review. I am pleased to read that our service is looking after you as well as the Resident, that's one of our goals, to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. St George's is a lovely home, I do think the household model makes it feel more like home and less like a...
Mum has been a resident at St Georges since September 2024, her care has been outstanding! All staff members go above and beyond to ensure residents are supported with all their needs and more! I go home from visiting mum in the knowledge that she being well cared for and truly feel I do not have to worry about her knowing she is in safe hands! I truly thank them for all they do to make mums world a happy one.
Hello,Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. I am so delighted to read your positive comments about my wonderful colleagues. St Georges has a team of people who are absolutely in the right jobs! They make such a difference. Thank you again.
Nothing was too much trouble, staff available for questions and visiting was if and when we wanted to.
Although this is a Nursing home, it is a care home for dementia patients as well.
Hello,Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your comments. I am so delighted to read that we as a team have been supportive and helpful to the family as well as providing respectful care and service for your Dad. Your comments will be greatly appreciated by all of my colleagues, thank you, Helen
The housekeeping and Laundry staff are amazing .The facilities are spotless clean, dad's room is airy and bright. Dad, always gets his clothes and blankets back, smelling great. Nothing has been lost.
The Chef and kitchen staff have been wonderful at accommodating dad's dietary requirement. The food always looks and smells amazing. Dad does enjoy his freshly baked cakes.
Dad has been a bit poorly and the nurses have acted straight away to get dad the treatment and support that he has needed.
St George is what excellent dementia care looks likes. We can't fault it.
Thank to everyone are St George's for looking after my dad.
Hello,Thank you for your comprehensive review of our services. It is so pleasing to see the food service, the housekeeping team and in fact the entire breadth of our service has been positively received by you. Your Dad's journey will be unique and he is living with people who understand that and...
The staff at St Georges gave the whole family constant help, advice and reassurance throughout the time it took for my parents to adjust to their new surroundings and settle in. Rooms and routines were established and nursing advice was constantly available.
One of the best reasons for them adapting to their new lifestyle was the daily provision of activities available. These enabled Mum and Dad to 'live in the moment' make new friends and never be bored!
Another winning provision was the exceptional meals cooked by a talented chef and his team.
Personal care and companionship in the home were very well administered by committed staff. We thank St Georges for all they have done to instil our trust that Mum and Dad are in the safest possible hands.
Hello, thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. I am delighted to read that my lovely colleagues in St Georges have helped the whole family settle into our home. It is such a large decision to make and the combination of the relaxed, homely environment, the fantastic food,...
I have visited this care home on several occasions. Every time I have been treated with the utmost kindness and respect. Never is a time inconvenient to visit. Having worked in the NHS as a nurse and health visitor for 47 years, now retired, I know how to treat all people with care and compassion and I am so pleased it continues in all care sectors. Thank you.
Hello, thank you very much for your kind words and five-star review. My colleagues in St Georges will be thrilled to read your comments. An outcome we celebrate is that as a result of our genuinely homelike household model, it's always a good time to pop in and visit. Whilst we are always grateful...
Dad was accepted at St Georges just over a week ago, and already I can see a difference in him. The staff all know his name, how he takes his coffee, what foods he isn't keen on and which are his favourites. The care home is light and airy and very clean, and there is always something to keep the residents occupied and entertained. I can't thank the management team and staff enough and I know when I leave him that he is safe. Well done St George's.
Hello, thank you for your review. It's so nice to hear that you can already see a difference in your Dad. I do think our households make the home feel much more relaxed and homelike. And, there is just always something going on in St Georges, and someone around for a hug and a chat. It's a lovely...
Under new management - one of vast experience and pragmatic in every way. From small steps to big changes all involving the 'household' model which brings independence to all the residents and a sense of community from living in small units. This home is 'going places' and has developed a unique 'buzz' of activity and a time sense of purpose. It's a good place to live in.
Thank you for your marvelous review. I am so delighted to read that you've identified how the household model gives our Residents so much more independence to live each day their way. And also, you're correct, our wonderful manager has been with us for a few months and is really bringing our...
We rang St George’s nursing home to ask if they had a bed free for our mum who we wanted to there asap. This was our first choice of home as we had visited family there previously and always thought how nice it was. We were invited to view 2 rooms later that day. We were shown around the home and introduced to staff as we passed them, everyone was friendly and caring. The home was immaculate. The resident liaison manager went to the hospital to assess Mum and a few days later we had confirmation they could take her. She has now settled in and is very happy there. The staff took the time to get to know her likes and dislikes and we are very happy knowing that she is being well cared for.
Thank you very much for your review. I am so pleased to hear we were able to assist your family through that confronting selection and admission process. My colleagues in St Georges are all very warm and happy. The relaxed household layout means that it feels so much more comfortable for everyone....

Simon brings a lifetime of experience to his role as Registered Manager of St Georges. His interest in social care started at a young age when a good friend’s sister had complex disabilities; seeing the challenges faced by the family it sparked what would become a passion to work in the sector. Starting on the YTS scheme and over 30 years later Simon has worked with learning disabilities, those living with mental health conditions and for the past few years in residential and nursing homes. Progressing quickly to a management position means Simon not only has experience in care but also in managing a number of settings.
Simon feels strongly that life doesn’t stop just because the time has come to move into long-term care, in fact, it is very much the start of a new chapter. Simon is committed to ensuring residents are valued and respected with open lines of communication with all those associated with St Georges.
As a local living nearby Simon is keen to get involved with the community around the home. Outside of work Simon enjoys eating out and walking his cockapoo, Bayley.

Having qualified as a nurse in Romania, Emily moved to England in 2012 and worked in a nursing home as a senior care assistant until receiving her PIN number. This led to Emily quickly progressing her career and gaining invaluable experience working with older people. Emily progressed to Deputy Manager further adding to her clinical knowledge and leadership skills.
As Clinical Manager at St Georges Emily is looking forwarding to working with Simon again who she had worked with at a previous home. Together they are committed to continually enhancing the lives of the residents and developing the team at St Georges.
Emily has a 5 year old son and loves spending time with family. Emily and her husband enjoy an active lifestyle which includes regularly going to the gym.

Zoe moved into the care sector after many years working as a dental nurse. Driven by a desire to spread happiness and make people smile, her role as Head of Wellness and Lead Activities Co-ordinator for Allegra Care is immensely rewarding as it gives her a unique opportunity to enrich residents’ lives.
As well as informing her working methods, Zoe’s creative and musical interests occupy much of her leisure time. She also enjoys time with her family and long walks in the countryside with their dog.

Home Administrator Claire moved into the care sector as an administrator after a career as a PA for 20 years and then a Paralegal for 12 years. The role is a very varied one that encompasses Claire's experience and knowledge to ensure the smooth running of the home. Claire also enjoys meeting the residents and their families and is here to support the transition of moving into the home.
Claire loves living close to the sea and makes the most of her time off spending time with her family and travelling.

St Georges’ first point of contact for many, Debbie is most likely the voice you will hear when you phone and the friendly face you will first see when you visit. In her role as Receptionist, Debbie enjoys getting to know all residents, and their families and visiting healthcare professionals.
All visits are booked via Debbie and she will always make sure that anything dropped in for residents is promptly and safely delivered. St Georges’s reception is a busy place but, with Debbie’s calm and proficient organisational skills, everything runs smoothly.

Starting his career in rosette restaurants and hotels across the West Country, Richard went on to become a college lecturer in cookery and catering, a position in which he worked with people with complex needs.
Building on this experience, he then ran activities provisions for two autism centres operated by the National Autistic Society, roles which involved extensive cooking and nutrition demonstrations.
Working as Chef Team Leader at St Georges, Richard devises and cooks a variety of nutritious and appetising menus to meet all residents’ dietary needs. This resident-led approach is enhanced by informal feedback and resident meetings, as well as input from staff. Flexibility and adaptability are key to ensuring the provision of alternative options for residents.
Championing fresh, local produce, Richard and his team work closely with local suppliers to source the best quality, traceable ingredients. Enabled by St Georges’ household operational model, with individual kitchens shared by small household groups, Richard also organises and delivers live cooking demonstrations.

Paul has joined Allegra Care with 27 years’ experience in the health and social care sector, including working in senior leadership roles for the last 18 years, covering operations, business management and quality assurance. Paul has a real passion for person-centred care and how that is delivered at the highest level.
Paul has worked across a diverse sector over his time in health and social care and brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Regional Manager. Paul believes in integrating real and meaningful values and culture into a service and in doing so, delivering the outcomes for the people we support. Paul goes by the theory of values with no meaning, which has no value.
Outside of work, Paul is the father of three boys and a 2nd degree black belt who teaches Judo.

Catherine has worked in sales and marketing her whole career, after graduating with a degree in Textile Management she worked in Corporate Workwear for many years. Catherine’s first role in the care sector was working with a disability charity that ran nursing homes and enablement projects for young adults. While her two children were younger, she joined her husband in his estate agency, but was delighted to return to the care sector in 2020 and now cannot imagine doing anything else.
Catherine’s role with Allegra is to support residents and their families as they explore care options. Working with the teams in the individual homes she ensures that during every stage from initial enquiry through to moving in with us every question is answered, and we offer the reassurance needed for the next chapter in our resident’s life. It is important for our residents to remain part of the community in which will have lived for years, often all their lives, so the other part of this role is connecting with local community groups, charities and organisations.
Catherine has said that working for Allegra with their groundbreaking household model means we are offering a home with compassion and care whilst ensuring residents are retaining their independence and quality of life.
Out of work, Catherine enjoys baking, gardening and walking the family Labrador. The children are older now, but still keep her busy!
