Fairfield House

I am needing full-time care, so it has been quite a shock going from independence to living in a nursing home, but I am so lucky to have chosen Fairfield Care Home. I feel so looked after. The staff are so caring and always smiling. The atmosphere is so pleasant and friendly, and I feel at ease here.

The treatment of residents as though they are their own family members is heartwarming.

Wonderful staff and management, very consistent great care , with carers who go above and beyond. Management are quick to do everything to make residents happy, the staff go out of their way to make sure the residents feel at home and cared for.

After my mother was a bit concerned about going into nursing care, the experience has been amazing. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and kind. From asking for a hairdresser to having her hair done the next day, nothing is too much trouble, a lovely, friendly, homely home. From my point of view, after seeing her in other homes, this home is on another level, from the amazing management to every member of staff. I can have my mind at ease knowing she is being well cared for by an amazing team.

Mum was well looked after and the staff were always very caring and professional. She was happy there which helped her well-being.

I have visited my friend at Fairfield House, and I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful with a smile on their faces, on one occasion I met a lovely lady who I believe is the Deputy Care Manager who was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. On my visit to the home, I was really pleased with the standard that the home was kept, extremely clean and fresh. My friend was very happy telling me she enjoyed staying there, the food was nice and enjoyed the activities.

The manager and her staff have been nothing but incredible with my mother, who has Huntington's. The home is always kept immaculately clean, tidy and fresh smelling. My mum is always treated with respect and dignity. The room is always clean and tidy. Mum always tells me how lovely the food is. She is also safe and secure

My mum was a resident at Fairfield House for around 4 months. During her time spent there, she was very well cared for by dedicated staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them, despite mum being challenging at times, they handled her with care and compassion. The home is exceptionally clean and fresh smelling. We lost mum in November - during her last few hours we were able to be with her. The staff were fantastic, keeping us well watered and fed during the night. I will always be grateful for the love and care that mum received in their care, and can highly recommend Fairfield.

Fairfield House is a friendly and welcoming home which is currently being extended. Their staff are, for the most part, smiley and chatty to the residents and cleanliness is of a high standard. Due to the pandemic, activities have been limited.

From what I have observed, the rooms, the food and the security are all of a high standard.

Unfortunately, I have been unable to visit my Auntie for quite some time due to distance and Covid-19 restrictions but thanks to the activity coordinator, who has been fantastic during this pandemic, I have been able to speak to my Auntie via zoom. This week I was able to visit and the staff made the visit so special with high tea for us to enjoy together in my Auntie’s room.

My Uncle has been living in Fairfield since 2016, he always speaks highly of the home and when visiting there is always a very homely atmosphere. My Uncle has a diagnosis of dementia and schizophrenia causing challenging behaviour at times, all the staff are kind, patient and understanding.

I would like to thank all the staff for keeping my uncle safe during the pandemic, the home has had strict guidance in place which has been difficult. The manager and nurses have kept me and my wife updated regularly, we were also able to speak to uncle via video call which he thought was amazing.

My grandma moved into Fairfield House at the beginning of May 2021, from the day she moved in she was made to feel very welcome. The facilities manager was very helpful, he decorated grandma's room personal to her and displayed her photographs on her wall within twenty four hours of her moving in. All the care staff have been very friendly, caring and very approachable.

Mother-in-law appears well settled and has good relations with manager and staff.

My dad lived in Fairfield for two years. He was cared for very well up until the end of his life. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and my location, unfortunately, I was unable to be with my dad at the end. I was updated and reassured regularly. One member of staff went above and beyond. She came in, in her own time to ensure dad was not alone. After his death, the home continued to support the family we received a thoughtful handmade memorial gift. I would highly recommend Fairfield and their team.

Mum was at Fairfield House for five years and was apart of the family there. She was treated with respect, dignity and kindness during her stay there. There was an overwhelming feeling of her being an individual and person-centred care. All staff appear to have a personal relationship with Mum and both they and the manager supported Mum with the complexities and dynamics of her family members. Thank you all so much for all you did for Mum and us. A discussion with one of the end of life carer's led to a coming together of Mums threes children, who have not spoken for years. This enabled Mum to be supported by all three of her children during her death. Again thank you.

Food is good.
