Fairfield House is a registered care home with nursing, and provides high-quality care for people who experience cognitive difficulties or who have mental health problems.

Based in a quiet village near Weymouth, the home is located in a quiet leafy area but has excellent links to shops and local amenities.

Housed within a 19th century period house, it has been specially adapted to provide the highest quality nursing care for its residents. Person-centred care packages mean that residents have all their care needs met, whilst friends and family are informed about any major care decisions.

A menu of tasty and nutritious food is provided for residents on a daily basis, and any special food requirements are taken care of.

Fairfield House has provided outstanding care for my mother for years. She has dementia and needs a high level of personalised support which has been delivered by the kind and caring staff to such an excellent standard that she looks happier and more relaxed now than ever. The environment in a large
period house is clean, bright and cheerful and the equally cheerful staff are unfailingly patient, caring and attentive. In fact, it is a home from home where the activities and care are tailored to the needs and preferences of individual patients. The manager is an exceptional leader of her team and, importantly, equally adept at managing the needs and anxieties of relatives and carers when required in the best interests of her patients. The overwhelming impression is of a very happy place to live where quietly professional staff are always on hand to keep residents safe and well. I have no doubt my mother is alive today thanks to the reliable, high-quality care she has received.

As a parent of a deceased resident, Fairfield House Care Home was a wonderful establishment - the staff were very caring and friendly and management were very approachable and understanding.


Our son spent 5 very happy years in their care and I can recommend Fairfield House 100% in every aspect.

My brother was a resident at Fairfield House care home for five years. He suffered from multiple myeloma and also had mental health problems and extreme OCD. He received excellent care treatment there, in spite of his health issues. I feel that Fairfield House gave him an excellent quality of life for
the last five years.

My concerns have been listened to. I feel my mum is safe and as happy as she can be. The staff are always welcoming. I am keen activities such as tea-party for Royal wedding etc continue.

Dad has dementia and has been at Fairfield for 2 years. It is a friendly small home that caters extremely well for all their residents. The staff are brilliant, home is very clean and the food is lovely and plentiful. The only thing that would improve it is more staff to take non-mobile residents,
like my Dad, out for frequent short walks so he can see 'normal everyday life' around him. The fresh air would do him good as would the stimulation of the outside world.

My mother has severe Alzheimer's and has been resident at Fairfield House for 3+ years.


I cared for her and my father for several years at their home and mine until this became impossible.


My mother was in her wandering phase on arrival here, the staff are very good and my mother seems content.

Claire Douglas

Job Title: Clinical Director Joined: 2017

Claire is a qualified registered general nurse with more than 6 years’ experience within the NHS specialising in patients living with dementia. During this time she also specialised in supporting and assessing student nurses within their placements. Most of her time spent working within the care sector Claire gained experience in the provision of dignified dementia care by exhibiting genuine respect for the person, and understanding that they are all unique individuals in a distinctive situation. Before joining the team at Fairfield, she spent time working at the Weldmar hospice care inpatient unit specialising in individuals living with terminal illnesses, this helped expand her knowledge in palliative care and symptom control.
