Himley Manor Care Home

My stay in Himley Manor Care Home has been wonderful, the staff have been absolutely brilliant. Very helpful and friendly and always cheerful. The food is excellent, well cooked and well presented.

Overall standards are quite good. Meals could do with improving everything seems to be served up together and hot meals soon go cold. Staff are friendly and helpful.

We have been made welcome and are so pleased I can visit anytime. In my opinion, the home has a good service of care for residents. the home is kept very clean and all the staff really care for the residents to the best of their ability.

My father came ot this care home in March 2021. The manager and staff have been nothing but welcome and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble and my dad is always clean and presentable. He is well cared for. The home is bright and colourful and welcoming for young children to visit relatives. The tea room for visiting has been decorated and is a lovely homely setting to visit relatives. The manager has worked hard to make this home a happy environment.

During the last few months of her life, my cousin could not have been treated with more kindness, respect and dignity. Everyone at Himley Manor Care Home deserves our thanks for all their hard work.

Himley Manor Care Home has been very good to my Mum. The staff have been extremely helpful when Mum has had to have medical intervention, especially as she doesn't like to say when she has a problem.

Staff are very polite, friendly and always helpful, especially during Covid visits. Dad always appears well looked after in his dress and always looks clean.

My mother became a resident in early January 2021. Because of lockdown, I was unable to settle her in but the staff were extremely nice and welcomed her and made her feel settled. The management were easy to contact and put me at ease about my mom. She has settled well, staff are all kind and friendly. My mom looks a lot better since she has been a resident. I have been able to visit now and the staff say she is doing really well. I am very pleased.

My mother was looked after to a very high standard. The care assistants who I met all seemed lovely and very caring and kind. They spoke to my mother very sweetly. My mother has stated that everyone who worked there was really nice, and she would happily go back for more respite. I'm very impressed with Himley Manor and have no hesitation in commending them.

So kind and caring, not just a job to them.

My aunt was a resident for five years and could not have received better treatment. She was very happy and died peacefully. She was always treated with care, kindness and her dignity was respected.

Anyone looking for a home for their relative or loved one should not base their decision solely on the CQC 2019 report. Go to the home, talk to the manager and staff then make your decision.

My mother has been at this care home for 5 years. She has always felt safe. Some problems did exist at this time. Staff not staying, high turnover does not help with resident's wellbeing. Cleanliness slipped. Wrong residents allowed to stay. Since the change of manager have noticed a great improvement. Easy to communicate with. Very understanding problems that arise are rectified. I know my mother is cared for.

During the year my sister, who has dementia, was taken into hospital from the above home. When she returned weeks later, she looked awful. We were not happy with any treatment in the hospital, but with a lot of TLC by the manager and staff, she pulled round and within 3 weeks had gained weight and looked her normal self. She now has 24-hour care and we are grateful to Himley Manor Care Home.

She is being treated very well. The staff are very good to my mom even though she can be difficult at times. They understand her needs very well. The home is always clean and the food good. The new manageress is always available to listen if I need to ask anything, which I find really nice and helpful.

Himley Manor is now a much better environment for residents and visitors.

In my experience, the home has got better and better as the months have gone one, since Christmas, I have seen a change for the better in the homes' cleanliness and the help the residents get. My mother-in-law has felt happier too and she has said so to me, she feels safer now.
