Excellent post-op facility for my very elderly mother following a broken hip who spent nearly 3 months at the Albert Suites. Care and support were very good and there was a very strong "personal touch" to her stay from the staff which was most reassuring and also brought a very warm dimension to her
care. In the spirit of being objective and if I were asked to voice a minor criticism it would be that there was little in the way of "extra curriculum" activities for the residents but this comment should be tempered by recognising that the Albert Suites' primary purpose is to offer respite and rehab care and not the facilities of a permanent, long term care home. To that extent, it achieves that purpose very well.

My mother reluctantly had to accept post-op care as she had wanted to return straight home following shoulder replacement surgery. Albert Suites at Battersea Place offered her exactly the right level of care and support. The staff were so kind and helpful, the physio really accelerated her recovery
and she was comfortable and, most importantly, very happy throughout her stay. She found the experience to be first class. Her only complaint was the huge amount of excellent food! Can't thank all at the Albert Suites enough for making this difficult period go so smoothly.

I have just spent 2 weeks here after a major foot operation and although the carers and nursing staff were excellent! I was very disappointed to find that despite being assured by the admissions manager that all these things were “of course” included with my room,
I did not have the three TV streaming
services which I am signed up for, in fact, my television barely worked on the basic channels. Did not have a landline, did not have a bedside light. No toothbrush charger. Mirror in bathroom could not be used by me, far too high.
All of these things I asked for and was completely ignored or they found my requests amusing. In fact, the admissions manager told me I was here to recuperate and therefore watching television should not be important. I was non weight bearing and so spent most of my time in my room. There was a serious lack of fresh vegetables and I thought generally the catering very second rate for a supposedly 5-star establishment. Menu limited if you are not a resident.

I had very good care during my stay. My only criticism is that while the food was excellent, the portions were much too big.

My wife was extremely well looked after. I would like to say a special word about a member of staff in particular, who is exceptional and she helped us in many ways and nothing was too much trouble. But the standard of care was very high.

My father who was in need of 24/7 care for the past 5 and a half years spent the last four years at Albert Suites in Battersea Place. This truly was not a care home it was more a hotel! My father spent many happy times engaging with a variety of staff forming strong relationships with them and some
of the other residents too. Through the era of Covid past, he caught it, survived it, and recovered from it with the help and support of the care staff at Albert Suites. He particularly enjoyed forays to Battersea Park and beyond, including one time a trip on the Thames Clipper up to Greenwich. My father passed away at Albert and I was privileged to be with him. He was very comfortable and most importantly pain-free. The space and care our immediate family were given at this time was fantastic and it certainly helped us in our grief of the moment whilst realising the need to celebrate his life.

I was in Albert Suites for one week's re-hab after having a knee replacement. It was a very welcome experience with an extremely high level of care and physio, absolutely necessary after such an operation. I could not have returned home straight away and greatly appreciated the attention and efforts
of all the staff at Albert Suites to return me to a more normal situation.

Overall an enjoyable and useful experience for my needs. Good physio to get me in a position to go home from a position of poor on discharge from hospital after my operation (triple coronary bypass) to be capable to cope with the ongoing physio at home from local authority services complemented by an
additional private physio service as required. The Albert Suites are well equipped and physios are thorough and well qualified for this type of service with good follow-through. The Suites are clean and well serviced and I would have no hesitation in using them again.

My sister had had an emergency hip replacement operation and has several underlying medical issues, and she was very anxious about COVID. Attention to her needs was all attended to before she arrived at Albert Suites and she was welcomed kindly and warmly. My requests to the Admissions Manager, regarding
diet and particular needs, were all acted upon promptly. The nursing staff were attentive and some individuals especially so. They even brought menus and served afternoon tea and home-made cakes with smiles and humour too! Only one thing that did surprise us was the lack of pure cotton linen and this we had to provide ourselves. Other than that the patient found the food appetising, the staff thoughtful and caring and the manager flexible and accommodating. After her 2 weeks stay we were anxious my sister wouldn't want to return home! Albert Suites maintains high standards in every practical way, but also in nurturing the mental and emotional needs of their residents.

The care and attention given to my mother was wonderful. A special thanks goes to the carer who gave her a manicure, something she has not had done for many years and she was so pleased to have it. Mum says the food and service were so much better than she expected which was nice as she so needed a
nice break.

My mother stayed for 18 months. We looked at nursing homes and chose Albert Suites for its good sized rooms, location, quality of the building, CQC Good rating and staffing. We found the quality of care good with an assigned responsible nurse - thank you - with special mention to the events organiser
who is very cheerful. Generally, the staff were very professional, good physio. The standard of rooms and floor were far above the other care homes seen. The management were helpful. Of course, as in all homes Albert Suites was under pressure during these COVID times but were still an enabler within the rules on visiting. Response times to the resident suffered from time to time. They are willing to fix the occasional hiccup - an example being that despite the relative newness of the floor the carpet was a little worn in the room and they were happy to replace. There was one personnel issue swiftly addressed.
Would highly recommend for anyone to stay.

My two weeks' post-op convalescence aided my swift recovery. I made excellent progress during my stay.
The nursing care is highly professional. The treatment and advice I received from the nursing staff were sympathetic and carefully tailored to my needs. All staff were excellent, all of whom went
out of their way to ensure my comfort at all times and answer my many questions. The domestic staff members ensured my comfort, both day and night. The standard of cuisine was very high indeed, and the menus varied and original. The dishes on offer are equal to, and often better than, established starred restaurants. The physiotherapy sessions were the best I have ever had, I made excellent and permanent progress under her tutorship.
The management of Albert Suites is approachable and efficient as evidenced by how content the staff were in their work and how well they got on with each other. Sincere thanks for everything.

My mother, aged 97, spent two months at Albert Suites recovering from a fractured femur and sprained ankle. The care was superb. Very professional nurses and physio. Excellent food. Beautiful rooms. The staff went out of their way to look after her and the other residents. I cannot give higher praise
than this. My mother was well treated. She was sorry to leave. She still corresponds with some of the staff members who were especially helpful to her.

I had a total knee replacement at the end of January 2020 - as I live on my own and some of my children currently live abroad, my consultant suggested that I consider the Albert Suites which I was unaware of then. After 4 days in hospital I arrived at Battersea Place and for the next 3 weeks, my life
was wonderful. Everything about the place was amazing - all the staff were both helpful and charming, my room was very comfortable, the food was delicious. All my personal washing was done so I could come home with it all clean. For me the real bonus was the amazing physios who worked really hard with me over the 3 weeks I was there - I was able to leave walking unaided in my room and around the corridors and just have a walking stick for longer journeys. Everyone has been amazed at my progress which I put down to the calm and positive atmosphere of the Albert Suites and the encouragement of the physios! I would recommend the place to anyone.

Immediately post-surgery I was too ill to have an opinion but as soon as I began to improve it all fell apart. The physiotherapists were good but they have much too small a space and few facilities - no hydrotherapy. Nowhere to walk and exercise, except up and down the hall - not enough. Terrible food
and boredom and the last straw - mice! Two of them in my room - I left early for that reason - no one did anything - too many agency staff who don't really care. Instead of getting better I got worse and more depressed. An awful place, mostly for long term care patients with Dementia - rehab stuck-on as after-thought.

What an excellent idea coming to Albert Suites.
My daughter suggested two weeks visit after my discharge from hospital in order to regain physical mobility and confidence. Albert Suites has provided expert care and comfort - the facilities are modern, thoughtfully designed and equipped, spotlessly
maintained and all members of the staff provide a warm and sympathetic concern for the residents. Meals are high quality and services such as physio, hairdressing etc are available. There is always an activity each day to keep one interested.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.286)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.286) out of 10 for Albert Suites at Battersea Place is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.386 for Albert Suites at Battersea Place is calculated as follows: ( (63 Excellents x 5) + (35 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 114 Ratings = 4.386
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Albert Suites at Battersea Place is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
